Game is pretty solid. It’s a decent basketball sim game. It offers game modes where you can control a team or a single player over a long period of time. My biggest issue is that when you sim games, you will almost always lose. My team is in season 4, ranked #1 offense and defense. If I sim games I lose 8 out of 10 of them. We play the worst team in the league? Yeah it’s a loss. It really doesn’t make sense and it a pretty obvious block to make you actually play the games. The downside of that is the gameplay loop is boring and simple to master. Once you figure out how the defense moves in response to you it’s easy to score every time. Like I said, decent game, just as long as you always play every game and never sim.

I had downloaded retro bowl, and I found that fun. So I decided to google a basketball version of retro bowl, and this was the best one I found. I loved this game for around a week or two, and it was my go-to game for a while. But the fact that every time I opened up another menu in the game, I would be bombarded with things like “PAY US YOUR FULL CREDIT CARD BALANCE FOR ONE EXTREMLY MINOR CHANGE IN THE GAME.” While the biggest change you would get was to change the exhibition rosters, nothing else would really change. I know the price is only 3 bucks but, I really don’t want an extremely minor change to the game if it barely changes anything. Also there isn’t a ton of content, and I would like if you had more teams in the game. I would like 30 teams. I know that you have to change some things so you don’t get copyrighted by the NBA, but does it limit you to only 10 teams with no conferences? My biggest want for this game is MORE teams. And a longer season that doesn’t require me to pay you guys. If you change that, it would be great and would play the game much more.

I like everything about this game but season mode needs to be more realistic. Please make it so your schedule changes every season and your home and away opponents change as well. I really hope you add this to the next update to make the season mode better. You should also put in more defensive lineups and abilities. What I’m really hoping is you make the season mode way better. It is easy to fix so the game schedule can be more fun and realistic. One more IMPORTANT thing you should add is a confirm button because I have accidentally pressed sim game instead of play game and the confirm button won’t make this happen “ are you sure you want to do sim mode” something like that.

I enjoy manager games and have played a ton of them. I think the market could use an American Football manager and have many ideas for a good one should you ever explore that.

As for Hoops...the idea is great and I like being able to develop a team from the bottom up. Everyone likes an underdog right? The season length options could be a little bit longer, and you can put people on the trading block but I never experienced any option for trading. I always had about 1/4 to 1/3 of my salary cap left but didn’t notice any option to get any superstars.

I think more options overall could be great. More player levels and skills to develop a slash and dunk style team or a great defensive team or a three point threat. I think doubling the amount of skills could pay dividends to customization. Also in games like NBA 2k I’m manager mode you also have to balance egos and players who complain. It would be cool if it would incorporate more real things like that. Some of the pros act like pros and some are big babies...balance the egos.

Hoop league tactics is a good game dont get me wrong…. But I have an issue here… My saved leagues and or saved careers have been freezing mid game and delete when I quit or for instance close out HoopLeagueTactics and this is the 2nd time this has happened and is why I have removed 2 stars and rating it a 3 instead of a 5 star. Its been frustrating and ashamed to see that Ive been forming these God squads and not being able to use them any longer and my progress is gone for nothing so thats my biggest concern… I wish it was like retro bowl where it saves and the gameplay is smooth. This was my go to game but now Im back to playing retro bowl full time.

The biggest flaw in the rng system here is that the game is always too easy or impossibly frustrating depending on the difficulty. In low difficulty, in an 8-minute game, I can routinely score 80+ points with over 75% shooting. It wasn’t always like this, though. So you’re meant to increase difficulty as you increase experience

Unfortunately, the chance of getting your ball swiped in higher difficulties is stupid. I have a team filled with decent ball-handlers and passers, yet consistently average 20+ turnovers per season compared to 6-12 takeaways. This makes for a frustrating experience, since you can neither dribble nor pass without risk of having the ball stolen— this is true even of ‘low-risk’ passes made by good passers (7+).

I do like the decreased FG% chance, as it is far more realistic. But the increased TO rate is insane and makes the game annoying to play. I have NOT checked the custom difficulty settings, and maybe you can adjust TO sliders there.

After first trying this game, I immediately fell in love. It’s brilliant and really fun. I love the season mode and all of its features, and can’t wait to see what lies ahead in future updates. However, I have one major complaint. While the game can be a bit tough when you first start off, after just one season on minimum salary cap I built a superteam out of the worst team in the league. I immediately went 7-0 in back to back seasons, winning the championship both years, and now have a full roster with talent all around, young and old. I like playing the games out myself, and even on the hardest difficulty it’s pretty easy. The CPU plays decent defense; it’s their offense that just doesn’t cut it. Since they don’t move without the ball, they struggle to find good shots. If you can figure out a way to make them make plays off-ball, it would balance the game much better. Love the concept, can’t stop playing.

This is a great game I’ve been playing for a year straight I’m currently making a NBA league of your reading this I suggest you buy the 2$ package it is definitely worth the buy it’s steal for such a low price though the game is good I think you should add a few things so the experience would be more engaging and enjoyable first you should add a special moves which should be different from a dunk there should be a posterizer special and there should also be a way to break ankles through dribbling and step backs and the last thing which would be a great thing for the overall game there should be a social tab like 2k games have for mycarrer and my league that is constantly updating you on what’s going on around the league because I can’t remember names and usually don’t keep up which takes me out the loop slightly otherwise download the game it’s the one of the funnest mobile game played to date

This game is pretty good if your looking to not get bored. But one issue i have is the defending system. It’s an absolute nightmare. 20% of the time i can actually block the ball but the other 80% i cant. Also there isn’t much games so seasons end quicker. But in order to chose more games i have to pay??? Like atleast let me chose 18 games! Also, I wish there was more basketball competitions like the all stars game, euro basket, basketball world cup, olympics, and the in season tournament. That way the game could be more longer. It feels really short. Also more teams in the game because it feels boring playing the same teams over and over again. Adding relationships, stuff you could buy (like a house or car), and maybe the sleeves basketball players wear. And it feels like i upgrade to 5 stars to quickly. I feel like it should be less easy to just get to 5 stars. I would have given this game 5 stars if it had atleast half of the things i’m complaining about in my reviews. But yeah other than that this game is pretty good and deserves more recognition!

I have had this game for a year or so and enjoy it so much when I am in school or bored because I can play a season fairly quickly. Currently I am in my 6th season as a 4 time champion and I believe 2 time or so MVP. Now in my 7th season they are subbing me out when we play bad teams. 100% in a real world context it makes sense, but not when I want to average 20 points a game, and even get playing time because it will sub me out for the ENTIRE game. Any help? Maybe I can change something but I am thinking of just switching teams.

For one part the game sometimes doesn’t let me win a championship the series will end the trophy toss screen won’t play no announced finals fmvp no change in the amount of championships won for your team this one happens consistently
Another welcomed addition would be the ability to rest your players, the only way you can do that now is to bench the player and hopefully though your simulation they won’t be put in the match
Also the simulate match feature is inaccurate as the top seeded first offense first defense team I shouldn’t lose to a bottom seed and go 50/50 for the season with only simulated games

We should be able to sub players without calling time out. You should add all star game and 3pt contest. The top 3 rookies of every draft class should be 3 star players so that they can actually take their team somewhere their first year. Lastly, we should be able to see players stats for every year they’ve played and what teams they were on.

You should add coach mode because when I press “watch” to coach my team they sometimes do things on their own. Like call timeouts and sub in players that I don’t want in.

First of all I want to say that I really like this game and I like the whole concept of it. I think that it’s great and these types of games get me addicted. One thing I would like which for me is why it isn’t a 5 star from me is that I feel like there just isn’t enough teams. I’d like a longer season and I’d like more teams to go up against, not just the same teams over and over again. I’d like to switch it up more, so basically in a nutshell I’d really appreciate it if a lot more teams were there on the standings for me to look at to get more of a realistic feel.

It’s a great game! I love the customization. It would be great to be able to create a full roster of 10. And In season mode, I would love to be able to look at my whole teams stats on an individual page rather than ONLY being able to see the top stat producers for the league. Also, seeing the stats for the individual teams as well. Also, it seems like ppls stat averages don’t make too much since. I have a scorer that after simming only averages 6 pts but the guy that’s mostly a rebounder has a higher “star” ranking and averages 12 pts. Either way! Love the game!

This game is very good the only problem is the league settings you have to pay for the full game which is bad because you can easily get bored of the game. So I will ask the devs to please remove custom league from the premium edition because there are so many gamers who would want to play on 10-12 minutes games but can’t because they aren’t allowed to play more people will play the game if you guys remove custom league form the premium edition. I really enjoy your game but we want to experience the full thrive of the whole game.

Great game all together. Fantastic simple rts gameplay adding strategy and basketball unlike most basketball games being flick shots. I would like to see though a buff to stats besides shooting. I feel if I have all 9-10 shooters then it is easy to pass to the corner or a pick and pop shot to win. Also, some control on defense would be nice. Honestly put in as controls- Jump steal switch and the some movement. Sitting on D waiting to see how my AI did hurts. Although a amazing game. The ability for me to make my team the Bobcats again and make a court is so fun. Great game.

I downloaded this game in April ‘20 after seeing an Instagram ad for it multiple times. I later bought premium for the extra save slots. Since then, I’ve spent thousands of hours playing and simulating games, and have gotten involved in the online communities, which are very friendly and in depth.

In terms of actual game content, it’s fantastic— it works as a simulator as much as it does as a play-through game, and its concept of turn based basketball is equal parts unique and engrossing.

Most importantly, the dev is as active as they come, taking player feedback and answering questions and solving any problems as they arise.

Whether you want to sim and watch games, or challenge yourself by playing it, it’s a fantastic game that I cannot recommend strongly enough. It is by far the best $3 I’ve ever spent.

This is a fantastic game props man. But what I would really love since I’m just a broke person I would like if that premium was just not there and if you don’t have that you would make so much more money due to the amount of people who would keep playing this because of the game not having a premium you could keep the ads if you want tho I don’t really care about that. Ok thanks but awesome game really love the career mode 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I don’t ever write reviews unless I’m criticizing or putting down an app. However, HoopLeagueTactics is one of the very few game apps that I have grown to absolutely love and become insanely addicted too! It is updated regularly, mechanics are super fun, and it has everything I could want in a game this style. I could very well see this being an indie game on PC or so, it’s simply amazing! Bravo to the creators!

I would like to suggest possibly more hair styles, and beard styles, and numbers on jerseys (or at least on the characters bio or next to their name).

So the only problem I have with the game is that when you are shooting the ball near the basket they just do the jump shot animation and I think that we should be able to have a floater or a layup animation to make the gameplay a little more entertaining. Also why do you need to get the ad on to get the full game it gets quite annoying when I just want to increase the fun of the gameplay and I can’t because I have will never play for an ad on on a mobile game again

I’m not one to write reviews, but this game deserves a 5 star rating. I love the player stats and interactions as well as the $2.99 extra perks you get. Overall amazing game.

I do have one complaint. Sometimes I do not want to play a game for however long, and I pretend to be the “coach”. When I simulate games I feel like the computer is very dumb and almost always loses the game. My suggestion is that maybe you could either fix the simulating feature, or add a coaching feature in which you just manage the team.

Love this game. Anyone pondering whether it’s worth it, it’s definitely worth.

I have been playing this amazing game for almost a week now, and might I say that I have loved it. It gives that vibe that relates to the popular basketball game nba 2k. Also, the features that come with the $2.99 package really make the game more addicting.

However, my one complaint is about the career mode. The gameplay whenever you enter a game with your customized career player feels slow. It doesn’t feel like my player isn’t getting the ball as much, but I get how since they are young and not as good as the other players then they wouldn’t get the ball as much. My one request is to see if your teammates could get you the ball more so you can upgrade your attributes a little big faster.

All-in-all, this a very fun and exciting game to play.

“Hoop league tactics” is a great game that I don’t have any problems with. It has many amazing features (with som needing a purchase of the premium edition) including: the ability to create or edit leagues in the game, customize teams, the teams players, tactics, court, logo, uniforms, name and possibly more, control a team and play seasons with it, create your own player and have a career of yourself, play exhibition matches, and more.

So I downloaded this game awhile back and thought it was fun, but the new updates are what made me a paying customer!

- I love the badges! They give the individual players an added layer of uniqueness, which is great. Hope to see an even larger variety soon.

- If I could give some constructive feedback, driving for an open shot from the perimeter or the post is way too easy. I routinely post 100% field goals with my bigs, and even my moderately skilled guards shoot hyper-efficiently by just walking as close as possible to the hoop

- IMO, this could be remedied in two ways:

1) making defenders consistently block your way to the rim and adding dribble/post moves that cost stamina which would be required to get past the defender. Kind of like the stepback, which is a great addition by the way.

2) instead of toggling the defensive pressure each defender exerts, toggling the attention the offense gets: for example, playing a good shooter tight on the perimeter, or doubling a great ball handler. A few options like that would both make the defensive experience more engaging and the offensive experience more dynamic and varied.
