I find this better than Google Authenticator. I have just 2 small complaints, and they are primarily for the Watch companion app. First, there is no visual way to see where in the 60 second cycle you are on the watch. Second, there isn’t a Watch complication to add to a watch face. Being able to summon Okta on the watch quickly via a complication would be much appreciated. Keep up the good work.

OktaVerify works reasonably well, but I am running in the same issue that was reported back in October at n another review.

Getting back to back notifications on iPhone 8, the acknowledgment banner from the first response will cover the buttons for the second reply, which is disconcerting to say the least.

Annoying that you have to go to OktaVerify to see the push notifications. You need to go to OktaVerify to get. Yes it’s me screen. Can you make it screen notifications. I checked settings. App is not under notifications and when you go the OktaVerify setting from main screen, notifications are missing

Use it currently at work on the daily basis for workplace management including clock in and clock outs and it works like a charm. There are tons of features to OktaVerify , but currently at the moment am mainly using it for my password protection here at work for logging in to our system. Solid A grade for OktaVerify!!!!

Many times, it sakes several seconds to receive the push notification. And many times, like this morning, o had an email open on my phone screen and did not receive the push, I had to swipe down to see my recent notions it was there. It should always show on top of screen.

Otherwise, it is an average authentication app.

We were having some issues with not getting the notification on time when we send the push notifications , however after the last update it is working so much better!

I religiously use iCloud so I assumed my Okta settings would come with my info when I started my new phone. No. And they make it impossible to simply transfer power of approval. You have to go individually to each and every connected app and reattach. But I can’t seem even do that to “scan the QR” I’ve looked online for help articles and the help info wasn’t helpful either

Never had a single problem and everything works as expected. Very clean and intuitive interface makes OktaVerify my go-to tool every time I need a 2-step verification . Thanks for making a great product guys!

I would’ve given 5 stars, but now with the daily annoyance of rating requests which prevent me from completing my logging in process, I have removed a star. Sometimes people don’t want to rate an app & forcing them to will lower your rating.

This was a very easy app for our users to understand. The simplicity of it and the push notifications were very important to help ease staff into MFA that had very little experience with authentication and most forms of technology.

I have been using okta verify for several years. I am extremely happy how simple it’s made my life. I have literally 70+ SAAS apps. Remembering or reusing passwords would not be ideal. Thanks to okta I can now safely login in to my apps with an easy sign in.

With OktaVerify all I need to know is where my phone is, and everything else is very easy. I like that I don’t have to be typing several times the same password, but with a touch of the finger….. u are done!

Trying to login to a time sensitive folder and get hit with a survey that doesn’t allow you to unlock or give the push notifications

Okta Verify has made my life so simple. Gone are the days of carrying around and MFA token or managing Google Authenticator and hoping it still works. Now, when I log in, I just get an automatic push notification and I can approve it by simply tapping on my watch! Love it!

App requires FaceID, even when you don’t use FaceID on your phone. Notifications are worthless. There are no details about the system the authentication request is for so you’re blindly authorizing login. One login could send multiple notifications, so even if the system works (which at least twice a week it’s broken), you just never know who or where you’re letting use your account.

OktaVerify allows you to just type “push” and then the notification is pushed to your Lock Screen. It’s very convenient!

For the longest time, I’ve been able to receive notifications from OktaVerify , allowing me to approve notifications without having to directly open OktaVerify in order to approve it. Now, for whatever reason, even though notifications are enabled for Okta Verify, I am not receiving notifications at all, what is going on?!

What more is there to add? Setting up as a new employee while working remotely has its challenges - however the Okta Verify app reduces the list of barriers - making security and privacy a cinch. Thank you!

I am a Sr IT Support Coordinator for my place of work and we recently implemented Okta for our SSO platform. The Okta Verify app makes it so easy to authenticate with just a tap on my Apple Watch, I recommend to all our employees to set it up!

Not a complicated utility (from my viewpoint!). It’s always worked for me with sending a verification push to me and instantly sending the ok to the other side. No issues.

Used to be a great app. However, with the new build and a phone reboot, Push notification no longer works on my phone, and more importantly, on my watch.

**** - Update. Upgrading this to 4 stars from 1 star. Shorty after I submitted my original review, the developer contacted me in order to troubleshoot the problem with OktaVerify . After trying several solutions, nothing worked. However, recently, it just started working again. Thank you for reaching out to fix this problem.

My company makes me use OktaVerify to log in to practically everything. It would be nice if when you tapped on the notification while your phone is unlocked that it took you directly to the approval page of OktaVerify , instead of the home screen of OktaVerify . Either that, or the buttons need to be moved so the “Add Account” Button isn’t in the same spot as the “Yes” and “No” buttons are on the approval page. I’m constantly hitting the “Add Account” button when I intend to hit “Yes” because it opens the main page first. Drives me nuts!

After resetting and restoring my iPhone, I found OktaVerify becomes totally useless. It asks you to scan the barcode which you will never get since you need the push verification before getting barcode. It is a dead loop!!!

This kind of workflow shows how inconsiderable OktaVerify designers are and I will strongly suggest my company to withdraw the deal with OKta.

Image you cannot receive an important email outside the company network due to the mistake from the third party app. Everyone who sees my comment please suggests your company to end the business with Okta because OKta itself hurts business.

I love the phone app portion. It’s my go to source for my company sent push authorizations as well as my password manager OTP. I love that I can approve from my watch. Which leads me to the reason I gave OktaVerify 2 stars.

The watch app is awful. You only get the first OTP. And that ONE that you get, or at least that I get, is cut off with ellipses. So in short. The OTP portion of the watch app is useless. It would also be nice if it was formatted to fit the Series 4.

If they can fix this problem, OktaVerify would definitely be 5 stars.

Unfortunately they haven’t figured out how to make this work on cellular-capable apple watches - independent of your phone. You have to have your phone with you to get notifications/approve access on your watch. Okta is literally the only reason I have to carry a phone around all day. Please embrace modern tech, Okta. The fact that you haven't updated OktaVerify in six months says it all.

A client forced me to download OktaVerify, and since adding it to my phone, my battery runs down twice as fast. I've tried to change the settings to keep it from running in the background, but it's not an option. I glanced at the reviews to see whether I could delete OktaVerify and add it back when needed, but others have said that's a major hassle. It's especially frustrating since I only use OktaVerify a few times a month. I'm going to complain to my client and put in my 2 cents that they find another means of verification.

I have to go through this piece of crap app to login to work by phone. It routinely doesn’t work right. Tonight it was asking me if I was logging in from somewhere in Kentucky, nearly Six Hundred Miles from my actual location. I despise OktaVerify and the number of times I have to logout, closeout, and just try to get it to work right so it will do it’s sole stupid job and “verify” me to my jobs login. OktaVerify is completely pointless if it can’t do its sole purpose correctly and instead impedes me from being able to work.

For all users complaining that OktaVerify doesn’t work, it’s most likely operators error. If your company hasn’t allowed pushed notification approval, then you won’t be receiving those alerts. Ask your company to turn that feature on. That’s what I did and now it’s working.

Apple watch implementation is essentially non-functional on Apple Watch 4.
On the new Apple watch (44mm) only shows 4 digits (are you supposed to guess the last two digits?). Changing the font size only lasts for the first time you view OktaVerify , then it goes back to the latest digits. Does not receive alerts (yes I validated notifications were on).

Update: Was able to receive the push to the watch by turning off send push automatically. Still don't get the alert on the Apple watch. Must open app on watch, then the push is received. Keeping the rating because of poor design and implementation.

On iPhone app: Can't delete an existing profile within OktaVerify , must go to settings and clear account info, uninstalling/re-installing app, or you have to add a second profile to delete the first.

App allows for both push and a soft token. Easy to self register and works like a charm. Looking at the reviews below it appears most bad reviewers are angry about their employer adding a step to access something and are taking it out on OktaVerify. Functionality is smooth. Recommend for self service enroll MFA.

I hate OktaVerify and I hate that I’m forced to use this at work. It never works properly. Every time I log in, I have to reset OktaVerify and completely reset my fingerprint, sometimes more than once. I’ve had to call their customer service line twice and spent 20+ minutes trying to fix these issues. OktaVerify is terrible. I would never use it, but sadly am forced to because of my job. Submitted a request to my employer to stop using Okta as it’s a time and money to waster.

Just one thing, there is a lag on iPhone between the push sent and the approval pop up notification. I think this could be easily fixed. As the notification comes up really quick when the push is sent, if OktaVerify is open

Company made us switch to this instead of using Duo. That's fine, except duo worked flawlessly on my apple watch and via push notifications.

With OktaVerify the watch app does nothing and i have to open OktaVerify manually to even see the auth request.

It does work once you do all that but compared to what's out there, this works very poorly.

It’s really simple to use, which is great! But, when you create a new password, reset or something like that from work, you have to reset Okta through your company okta website...which you’re most likely trying to access from somewhere else besides work. That’s when it becomes useless. Would be better to send email or text confirmation for resetting.

Since a recent update, the push notifications overall seem to be flaky (not always showing up when they’re supposed to) and the watch app is completely useless. I really liked being able to use the watch app to confirm my authentication, very disappointing that it no longer works.
