Waste of time and resources

GoogleNotebookLM will take any article you want and turn it into a podcast where instead of just reading the text of the article or answering your question in a straightforward way, they'll talk in circles around it for a good 20 to 30 minutes. The best part is you get to wait for several minutes just for them to create the podcast for you to start listening. What is the point of using GoogleNotebookLM? I get ZERO benefit from it. It's just a trinket. Just for show.

Great App but who on this team ported it???

I love notebookLM, the web app is phenomenal and the custom silicon makes that all possible. I’ve been anxiously awaiting the web app so I can queue up content for commute.

You can’t change the notebook names, you can’t curate the actual podcast for focuses??? The first point here begs the question, who QA’d this thing. The second point, this is such a necessary feature and so utilized in the web app and you cut it???! Was it that hard to have that extra form box for user insertion to curate the podcast. This is such a great product but fire the product manager sitting on top of this thing, my god. Sundar, your company sits on such great IP but the execution….

Missing key features, audio bug

Seems like they rushed the release of GoogleNotebookLM rather than waiting for a version that was equivalent or better than the web version.

There’s no ability to generate mind maps, study guides, timelines, FAQs or briefing docs like you can on the web version.

There’s also a bug where the audio from the generated podcast (deep dive) comes out the ear piece instead of the phone speaker. Using an iPhone15 Pro.

Not the same functionality as desktop version

I love and use NotebookLM desktop version for personal and professional use. Unfortunately, the mobile version does not allow you to deselect some of the sources or customize the audio overview function to focus on specific areas you want to learn. Hopefully Google will make improvements in the future.

So Quiet

The generated audio is so quiet! Even with my iPhone’s volume turned all the way up, it sounds like it’s stuck at less than 50%. I don’t have this issue in any other app. Because of this, I can only listen to the generated audio in an absolutely silent environment or with noise canceling headphones. I love NotebookLM and am excited to update my review to 5 stars once this annoying bug is fixed.

Great start, room for improvement

At its core, great implementation of the web version of NotebookLM. Podcast summaries sound great and chat is solid. Would like to see more syncing with regards to study guides and timelines generated on the web showing up on GoogleNotebookLM version.

Good start

So far so good. But still need more updates to work as well as the website!

Good, but one issue with the dark theme

Whenever opening GoogleNotebookLM , there is a flash of the light theme before going to the dark theme. I want it to be dark from the start.

where is my saved notes?

Looks good, but I cannot find my saved notes from the web version.

Great start

I love to have Notebook LM as an app on my phone. Quicker access and nicer UI than the web version. One downside I found was that it always activated the mic when I listen to the generated audio. I works fine but my headphones have lower sound quality when the mic is on. It would be nice if the mic was not turned on.

Amazing

Google has done it again. Amazing ability to be able to not only generate but to simulate real voice tone, pitch and cadence!

ADT! I have been waiting for this!

I just wanted to make my first review about Google creating GoogleNotebookLM. That in itself deserves 5 stars.

It is Awesome

GoogleNotebookLM is truly awesome. When I first heard about it, I set the notification when it is first available. Today, I finally got to try it out and I’ve experimented with a few documents to see if the podcast voice overview works. And yes, It works incredibly well. The only issue I’ve encountered so far is that the interactive feature, which is still in its beta phase, doesn’t seem to be working properly. When I click on it, it just appears on the screen and does not do anything. Other than that, I’m impressed with the concept and its potential, especially as a student. I’m hopeful that the developer team will work on fixing this issue. I’m eagerly looking forward to future updates.

So useful!!!

My friend introduced me to this website to study for a test and it helped me so much! (it was the podcast). The free version offers SO MUCH and is SO EASY to use!! I’m currently using this to ace my final exams.

It’s just awesome! 😄✨

Transforms any article into audio or video summaries in seconds—fast, accurate, and incredibly easy to use. Google is killing it and we love them for it. Apple Intelligence is really bad and is censoring religions.

GREAT APP

I really do enjoy GoogleNotebookLM, I’ve found this prior when it was just a site and I’m beyond stoked that it was moved to mobile phones. So far there hasn’t been any fees or anything and I really hope is sticks like this!

Finally!

One of the best AI tools out there FINALLY has its own app! The combination of the Discover feature + the Audio Overview feature = easy way to learn ANYTHING in 15-30 minutes. This has totally upgraded my ability to learn and understand pretty much anything at all. I’m so happy I don’t need a web browser to use it any more!

Force Multiplier

Notebook LM has been a game changer as a research assistant, data synthesizer, and facilitator. It’s been a tremendous help when I’ve been introduced to a new topic or interested in learning more about something. Helps with organizing and summarizing information, proposing thought-provoking questions, and laying out a timeline of events. And, the podcast feature is an excellent way to cement your understanding of the topic. All-around a very valuable tool.

One of the best uses of AI

Incredible app. Truly one of the most useful AI’s out there. What makes this special is you get to submit your own sources for reference and the best part- INLINE CITATIONS. Would like to see more use of web reference as an option in addition to personal sources with inline citations aswell. Some sort of toggle or bar to adjust how much outside sources to use could be helpful. Great app! I also like how you can import sources from anywhere at any point. Some more tutorials from google would be nice to to know how to maximize the use of app.

Powerful Application

GoogleNotebookLM will make you learn absolutely anything you bring to it.
