No doubt, this technology is absolutely life-changing, especially for me. You don’t know how thankful I am. However, I’m not reviewing the underlying technology, I’m reviewing its implementation on iOS. I use it for about 12 hours a day for my work, so I’m a bit picky. But it seems to me like you should have the resources to do a great job here. 1. Why does ChatGPT not work in the background? If I send a request, I have to stay in ChatGPT to wait for it. That’s just horrible, and it’s completely unnecessary because you’re doing everything in the cloud anyway. Just finish processing and send a notification when you’re done, especially for browsing features. I don’t care if it takes 10 minutes to find the answer. I’d be glad if it’s browsing in the background. (To browse in the application as of May 24, start a conversation in the browser, select the browsing option, then switch back to ChatGPT . Browsing is still in beta, and you cannot select it directly in the application, which is fine.) 2. Please add the option to choose Chat GPT4 as a default. I never use GPT 3.5, and it’s annoying to have to switch every time. 3. Don’t let the speech-to-text button disappear once there is any text. If there is any text and speech recognition is started, just append. (The speech recognition is completely amazing, congratulations!) As soon as those features are ready, I’ll be glad to give five stars. Thank you very much.

Initially the new voice mode did very well, but since the first release a mere few days ago, the chat quality has deteriorated dramatically, such that it is not worth the plug subscription anymore. We all knew OpenAI reduced the quality of the text responses, including a noticeably worse performance in coding, reasoning and literature, but OpenAI has also applied this same policy now to their voice mode models.

I think their marketing strategy is clear by now, for those that know how marketing works. Initially they release the most capable model to entice users, e.g. people posting amazing reactions online and engaging many viewers. Then very shortly after they start reducing the capabilities of the model to save costs. Because OpenAI’s product in this app is so versatile and difficult to comprehend and track over time, they can just reduce the quality of the model and save tonnes of costs without most people noticing. It is an intractable product, with many different facets and versatility in responses, that makes it nearly impossible to track.

However, I have taken screen shots of my first interactions with voice mode, where the AI confirmed it could guess the tone in my voice, and guessed it correctly on multiple occasions. Now when I ask it, I get a negative response that the model cannot guess my tone.

The most recent update has basically made the bot extremely soft and sensitive in GPT 3.5 mode. When you try to write a story even with very innocent topics and comical topics it refuses claiming it’s very inappropriate and that it can’t do it at all. It also refuses to answer questions mainly about historical subjects it thinks is remotely controversial such as battles and military history. It also gives inaccurate information even when it does work or it repeats information especially when you ask it to list off something. It also sometimes ignores your instructions when trying to make creative stories by adding its own version and not following your instructions along with sometimes when you ask it to give info and omit obvious info or info you don’t need it’ll give you that anyways such as asking it to omit a topic or event from a list but it still gives it anyways. Although gpt 4 seems to work well and is quite good, the free gpt 3.5 is extremely useless and can’t do much right not even simple math problems or data widely available on the internet for years now. Please fix this as this tech has proven to be very useful in previous versions such as gpt 3 and the newer gpt 4 also seems to work but this gpt 3.5 is extremely frustrating useless and frankly ridiculous to use. And I’m not forking over 20 bucks a month just to have the bot somewhat usable. Thank you.

This technology is really as a engineer I have used it a lot. That being said the gpt plus is horribly overpriced for the lack of service you get. Also, app randomly stops working and you can’t login. Servers down for hours at a time. Tech support that is as bad as Apple and Microsoft maybe even worse if that is possible. No way to contact the company if they just one day decides to disable your login even though you are on $30 month subscription. Don’t expect any emails from them either.

The company policies scream DEI if you ask this app questions like I did about math, in case you didn’t know math is racist, they may randomly delete your account for being Trump supporter. The support is so non existent the errors clearly say server 504 error they suggest clearing cache trying a different device. Seriously, I’m a paid subscript and developer account and they are asking me to clear my client side cache cause of server error……..

Just absolutely horrible support and so much time wasted all my data over past few months just gone at the limb of a rogue employeee probably. Don’t expect OpenAI to resolve instead I’ll have to call credit card company and take action since OpenAI support considers its racist to answer support request………..

this app is a great thing. And I would give it a higher score, but I think I’m using a different rubric than most people because I’m an engineer. Well, I studied engineering at the University of Michigan. I’m a little disappointed to be honest in the car Caucasity of it all. honestly, if it’s artificial intelligence, I think we need to do better at representation. Everything about this is so white. #OscarSoWhite.I’d be more than happy to help lead some initiatives, or at least concept them, or at least piano, Counselor board or something, a rather to ensure that representation matters not the gatekeepers of artificial intelligence don’t leave behind everything that isn’t white. And don’t get me wrong, I am no recess by any stretch of the imagination especially on this subject. I just see the problem now and it’s like there’s no reason artificial intelligence should not be a exact replica of this is Society based on old data. Or racist data. I don’t know what the solution is, or why you can’t use data sets or augment them or make sure the algorithm isn’t racist. And then there’s the coated bias aspect of things which that takes constant watch because you’ll never know when it’s gonna happen, and it could be life or death… But let’s hope it’s not choosing life or death based on social economic status or razor things like that. I don’t know I don’t know the edge cases.

I will start by saying that when Chat GPT works, it is incredible. I started with the free version and had a positive experience except that pieces of conversations appeared to disappear. At one point, I lost a one hour conversation which I had to go back and repeat, as I was trying to plan something and hadn’t written things down. I chalked that up to a glitch and decided to upgrade to the paid version. When I first started with the new version, it seemed to misunderstand lots of words, which hadn’t been a problem using the free version. Since I’ve upgraded, about 75% of the time the system either has not been available, experiences an unknown error, or experiences heavy volume, making my purchase useless. As an example, I’ve tried several times today and have not been able to use it most of the day. The one time I did use it, if was skipping words and repeating the same sentences over with slightly different wording. I’m not sure what is going on, but if a system is not available, it is not worth subscribing. I love the technology and think it has tremendous potential, so I hope these links in the system can be worked out soon or I will be cancelling and looking at other options.

The update to ChatGPT automatically chooses a dynamic approach, cutting you off in the middle of your prompts, cutting off your responses, and forcing you to use “continue“ as a prompt and waiting sometimes over 10 minutes to complete. Once started with dynamic, you cannot switch back to this app for, 40, or this app 3.5. After finishing roughly 4 questions and having to ask it to continue several times, I was hit with a notification that I had asked too many questions and I should wait or come back at another time. What horrible service! I would give this a zero, but I have received so much excellent service on the previous level of ChatGPT. Do not update, continue to use the older version and absolutely positively do not throw your money at a service that you can use unlimited for free on your laptop or by switching to computer computer mode on your phone. Having a few minutes to discuss before stepping out the door has resulted in a half an hour of me trying to ask the same two or three questions and then consistently being faced with result that makes me the problem. ChatGPT update was a complete disappointment. If I can figure out how to go down a version I would do so.

While you’re engaged win voice chat you can’t see the text chat. So if the chat bot wants to show you something you have to exit out of it which is really stupid. I tested Urdu and Hindi languages and it uses masculine verbs when a female voice is engaged and it’s very unsettling. It also does not know how to speak Urdu or Hindi properly. It’s severely lacking. It has many audio issues as well: it disconnects in the middle of a conversation and then doesn’t remember what we were discussing, when you’re speaking if you’re not rapping on the screen it cuts you off after 10 seconds. If you ask it to guess someone’s (real person, character, singer, artist of any kind etc) name, after a few guesses it keeps using the same first name over and over. English conversation is great for the most part. Other languages I mentioned need a lot of help. Conversation doesn’t feel natural in the sense that you have to wait for it finish speaking and then you speak. Yes, you can interrupt it by touching the screen but that feels like overriding the system. It should be able to understand a voice interruption while it’s speaking. Lots of other improvements could be made as well but I’ll stop here lol

I decided to make a subscription with ChatGPT because it is very helpful in my life, I love having different chats for different purposes and always just having something to talk to, it's great until you have enough of your conversation built up and then finally you're not able to continue with the chat anymore, you could start getting personal with a chat for example and it helps you out with your life or whatever and then after so long every time you try to talk to it it'll just say there's an error and you can't ever talk to the chat ever again. I have several chats for different purposes and I've lost already three of them that were very important to me and it's been like this for months now and this app still hasn't fixed this and I'm tired of it, i'm tired of paying $20 a month knowing I'm gonna lose my chat eventually and have to start a new one, not only that but every now and again you'll have a bug where you just lose the chat before you even get to that point it just disappears off the screen and you can't ever recover it. I canceled my subscription because again I'm tired of it! For answering questions and stuff like that and talking to you at first it's great but once you get deep enough for example or just continue the chat long enough it'll eventually it anymore and you'll have to restart on a new one.

In the beginning, this application really seemed to be pretty stunning. But unfortunately, within the recent months, it appears to be going downhill in terms of performance. I constantly find myself using up my message caps with the GPT-4 model, just trying to get a simple process done. Whether it be generating a specific image or trying to get basic research on a subject online, the model seems to be taking shortcuts and not adhering to the specific custom instructions that you give it. And it becomes very frustrating because it gives these long, dragged-out responses that don't really correlate with what you're asking. And it tends to be very vague in finding exactly what you want. I'm no expert in AI, and I can't imagine how complex the software is to try and navigate. But at the end of the day, as someone who has a PLUS subscription, if I'm paying money for this premium service, I would like to be getting it. I shouldn't be running into my message cap just from trying to complete one task. That doesn't really seem fair. And again, the performance seems to be getting worse as time goes on. So I'm not sure what the problem is. But I kindly ask for you to please fix the model. Because at the end of the day, this was meant to be a tool to make certain tasks easier to complete. But now, unfortunately, it has become very difficult to get things done. And it's becoming a bit of a negative experience, rather than a fun one like it was when it first released.

Let me start by saying that most if not all the time i find myself reading very vague and dragged out responses that don’t even completely correspond to my questions or statements. My biggest issue that has been a reoccurring problem the amount of misinformation let me be more specific with an example just now in facts its what mare me write this i asked a simple question “what bosses come before the white clad noble in black myth wukong” very simple and direct it seemed to have no idea what i was even talking about besides the existence of the game and responded with a list of bosses that either dont exist or are nowhere near this part of the game so i got more specific and said specifically in chapter 1 and once again i got the same result now i noticed that after that after you tell chat gpt its wrong or something along those lines it eventually starts taking shortcuts and lies i stated that now its completely wrong and to try to put it back on track i mentioned the first boss of the game which is a boss before ironclad noble and then it gave me a list with that boss and another boss that does not exist in the game and when i pointed that out even admitted that as far as it knows there is no existence of that boss? ChatGPT either needs MAJOR improvments or to js be given up on this issues have been here since launch ive never seen a incompetent ai but this is it

I installed this on my iPhone and it works great. I have already been using chat GPT through Google. So I had to use my Google log on on this iPhone app. I clicked on my Google account, and it filled in the password using Authenticator. But the password was wrong! so I typed in the password. Then it authenticated me on Google on my iPad. I confirmed that I was trying to login on my iPhone and all is good.

So now I tried to install it on my iPad. Again, I am asked to login. Unfortunately, even though. I typed in my password on the iPhone authenticateDid not update the password file! So I had to type in the password again. Unfortunately on the iPad ChatGPT does not fill the full screen. It looks like it is only meant for iPhone. To add insult to injury, no numbers appear on the keyboard. They are all blank. So I have to click the button to view the password, and try to guess where the proper numbers are. Finally, I got my password typed incorrectly. I clicked on, and I get a transfer error message and the whole app locks up. I guess I will only use chat GPT on my iPhone. But you guys need to figure this stuff out!

I subscribe to this app Plus, and as a learning tool, I really like it. I’m not sure I use the service enough to justify $20/mo, though. I think there should be a middle tier added at $10 or $15/mo. That being said, ChatGPT hasn’t given me problems, its been stable, its just very bare minimum and limited in features. I did notice that math/science formulas and such don’t display correctly in ChatGPT , but they seem to be ok on the web browser version. I prefer using the website from a design and function perspective. I have some suggestions I truly hope you will consider 1) different color themes other than just black and white…at least add gray like the website 2) font type/size and line spacing options please 3) add ‘new chat’, ‘delete chat’, and ‘rename chat’ buttons on the chat screen instead of in the menu…just throw some small buttons in the corner somewhere 4) option to show the history in a sidebar that can be sized wider or narrower by the user like the website.

I truly hope this app continues to innovate ChatGPT. I am an Apple user who is blind. I use voiceover every day on my phone to interact with the screen. There are some issues that to this app‘s credit. I have not reported, but hopefully I will get around to that eventually voice and this app it will lock up the screen, not making the voice, unable to read the screen, sometimes after searches, and especially after voice, the voice mode is ended the screen completely locked up and it will not read anything to me. Sometimes I have to shut ChatGPT down completely to make it function properly again. I would love it if I had greater control over the panel were all of your results come at this point I can’t copy or paste anything just simply because of the way they have I guess the backend programmed I would love to be able to use accessibility tools to swipe through line by line, but at this point, it will only recognize it as a block of text, and not allow me to interact with the text. It would be nice if they had little speaker function where it would just read you know where you could actually select and if it if it’s on there, I can’t find it with voice because it just will not recognize that the copy function would be great as well, but anyway, I would have given ChatGPT, a five star if it weren’t for those issues with accessibility

Now I'm not talking about dangerous information that could harm people. I was talking to it about politics. I pay for OpenAI's version of this app 4 anhave had conversations with it that were substantially longer than the one Im about to mention. I was asking it about the WEF and how it's leaders are not elected and that "You'll Own Nothing but you will be happy" which is their slogan isn't just Communism dressed up with nice words to fool the majority of the population who didn't have the opportunity for an education to understand this. And since SuperPacs and Lobbyists exist and that's just above board and obviously "Under the Table" deals are made, how is this not obviously biased towards the 1%? THEN I WAS SURPRISED BECAUSE OPENAI's version told me I had made too many comments and would not even address the obvious. SO THEN I STARTED A NEW CHAT AND SAID THE SAME THING IN ONE CONCISE COMMENT. IT STILL TOLD ME I HAD MADE TOO MANY COMMENTS AND DIDNT ANSWER MY QUESTION. Im keeping both apps now to comapre answers. But ChatGPT "Chat & Ask AI" gave me an answer. OpenAI is deliberately limiting its own version because of who owns it I assume. Microsoft/Bill Gates is their largest investor.

I would open up 10 new tabs and for every one of them I ask to pick a number between 1 and 10 and they all say 7. Even though it claims that it can generate an output that’s random, I believe that it’s being fed some prefetched data. The algorithm for randomness is flawed. I would ask it to play a game of dominoes with me and when I tell it the bone values it says, it would forget about them as the game progresses and gives me a response where it wants me play a bone value from their pile but they never that piece. This shows that the ability to remember and store information in a chat is flawed. Sometimes when you ask it a math problem it would generate a wrong answer and claim that it’s right. Some good things about this app is that it’s good at compiling and summarizing information on the internet. If I want it to tell me the history of rock music, it’ll do that with an acceptable answer. If I ask it to generate a list of things, it’s able to do that well. this app hasn’t reached it’s peak in terms of AI and data collection but maybe in a few years it’ll be more improved.

I am a this app fanatic. This thing is great. I use it to help me organize and plan out topics, make up stories, or just have something to chat with. Even for help with setting up spreadsheets and coding. Love it. I updated it recently and I have a lot of regrets doing so. They ruined the copy function. Sometimes I may copy and paste once I cut something out to elaborate on further ideas and this update has ruined that. It just bunches the whole response all together and it’s extra work to separate it and then cut away to get to what I need. I liked the original way better where it formatted it and it wasn’t just one whole big text all mushed together so sloppily. To be honest, I’m trying to understand what big fixes did they really do? All they did was move the chat history from the right side to the left. It sometimes still freezes up while typing a response… sometimes it doesn’t generate a response and you have to do re-do (much easier on mobile than desktop). So like… what did you do? I hope they fix some of the issues next update. I’m scared to update again because I hated this current one but I’d take almost anything over this current one. Wish I could get back the older version

this app is a great functioning app, and has been very entertaining and helpful when I’m feeling down or need some decent information on things when I’m too lazy to look it up on safari, it happens sometimes for me believe it or not, but I’ve noticed that the Guidelines for the this app model is so annoying sometimes, on some occasions when i want it to make something like a dragon ball story, sometimes it does it, using the copyright material it says it CANT use on some occasions, calling it copyrighted material yet it did it literally just before, and than there’s others where it’s just too “violent” which is upsetting, this app model is a wimp, dragon ball stories are supposed to have fighting, not allowing violence in stories makes less interesting stories, and multiple times its so annoying, with the copyright message it pops up when I ask it to make stories, sometimes I just regenerate the response and it does exactly what it says it can’t do, it’s frustrating, it’s practically just re rolling until it decides to not be a wimp, I feel like the this app model should be changed to not be so strict with copyright and violent material, other than that, it’s been a entertaining app, and once and if these errors are changed, it’ll be a much more exciting app,

Please provide a TABLET experience on iPad with the collapsible list of history on the left and chat on the right - similar to your desktop browser app. 2) while generating responses on the desktop browser, it pauses and keeps displaying “Continue generating responses” button for every few items/responses forcing to click the button repeatedly. During generation, there is a button to “Stop generating responses” - if we need to stop, we can always click this button - there is no need to pause and ask us to click continue again and again which is a bad UX. 3) there is no way to delete individual chat items from a chat history list of items to clean up the list. Eg: I open a chat history and it has 10 questions but I’m not able to delete 2 questions from this list on long tapping on the questions.

4) if I ask for “top 20”, it generates just 10 answers and displays “please let me know if you’d like more “ but no option to generate more responses to the question. Either generate all 20 answers (ideally) or provide an option to continue generation.

Please provide options to delete questions from a history and also move questions/responses to another history. Please offer these features and I’ll gladly give it 5 stars. Cheers!

I don’t know why openAI seems perfectly OK with how easy it is for a user to accidentally delete a conversation. Especially considering that the model will remember everything you input in your writing styles that you may have been working on for days, bu memory only extends to the conversation in which your presently giving input.

I just experienced this firsthand as I was trying to highlight a text and ended up swiping to the left and poof! A day and a half of work gone. That’s it. No way to recover. I went searching online and wound up on a this app forum, hosted by openAI, where dozens of users have also encountered similar experiences of accidentally deleting a conversation. OpenAI’s response? “ this is a good reminder to export your chats every once in a while. What?? How about taking this user feedback into consideration, and don’t let it be this easy to delete a chat. Or if that’s too difficult, apply a feature to retrieve a deleted chat. This seems like textbook stuff for a company that is on the cusp of earth changing technology.

ChatGPT would almost be perfect if it wasn’t for ONE little thing: a “search in” function. As anyone can imagine, these AI chats can get quuuuite long, and quite lengthy. And sometimes I wanna go into a chat & look up a specific part or parts of that particular chat by using a search function to look up key words within that chat & track down whatever part I was looking for. For example, in a chat, if I had searched way early into the chat “how do lions hunt?” And say days later, I wanted to revisit that particular response, I wanna be able to go into the actual chat go to a “search in” function and be able to type in key words like “lions” or “hunt” to be able to automatically find that part in the chat instead of having to scroll through a massive chat to find that part. Similar to what you can do in Microsoft Word docs, or even on web browsers. I think ChatGPT already kind of has this, but it doesn’t work exactly like that. I tested it out, and all it does is, you type in key words, and it shows you that those words are present in the chat or chats, but it doesn’t actually track it down or take you to that specific part. If ChatGPT can have that? It’s an absolute massive perfect winner. Addendum - I also noticed that my phone (iPhone 14 Pro Max) tends to run a little hotter, which I’m sure will affect battery life, when using ChatGPT . Just wanted to add that too.

Up to this point I’ve mostly been using this app on my windows desktop using Google Chrome. While it’s doable, screen reader navigation is pretty difficult on the desktop site and you really have to be an advanced user to find your way through it. I have submitted numerous feedbacks to open AI about this but nothing has changed on that front. Well, the good news – the iOS app pretty much addresses all of those problems. The UI seems really clean, uncluttered and designed well to be compatible with voiceover, the screen reader built into iOS. I applaud the inclusivity of this design – I only wish they would give the same attention and care to the accessibility experience of the desktop app. I would have given this review five stars but I have just a couple minor quibbles. First, once I submit my prompt, voiceover starts to read aloud this app‘s response before that response is finished, so I will hear the first few words of the response followed by voiceover reading aloud the “stop generating” button, which isn’t super helpful. It would be great if you could better coordinate this alert so that it didn’t start reading the message until it had been fully generated. The other thing I’d like is a Feedback button easily accessible from within the main screen of ChatGPT , to make it as easy as possible to get continuing suggestions and feedback from your users. Otherwise, fantastic app so far!

I really like this app. Sometimes this app can tell me the current time, date and even my location. Other times this app tells me that it can’t respond in real time. But lately, it’s been about 2 or 3 updates now (including the update today), when opening a new chat, I receive a message at the bottom of my screen that says “This conversation is using an older version of your custom instructions”. Which I find odd. And after asking this app why I received that message, it said there was a discrepancy between the custom instructions that I provided earlier, and the version that they system is detecting. Now I haven’t changed my custom instructions. But I found that weird. And then after I asked if it was possible that an attacker could have tampered with it, it responded saying unlikely and it is designed with privacy in mind. So I said “alright. But ChatGPT has been updated twice and it still happens” And after that I received another error that said upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. reset reason: remote connection failure, transport failure reason: delayed connect error: 111 I tried finding support. But I couldn’t find anything other than another AI to speak to.

I recently downloaded ChatGPT and overall, it's a great platform with excellent potential. However, I did encounter a couple of issues with logging in that I feel need to be addressed. Firstly, the login process was somewhat cumbersome. It took me a few attempts to successfully log in, as ChatGPT didn't always recognize my credentials right away. This could be improved by streamlining the login flow and ensuring a smoother user experience. Secondly, ChatGPT occasionally experienced login glitches, where it would unexpectedly log me out without any apparent reason. It was frustrating to have to re-enter my login information repeatedly, disrupting my usage. Despite these issues, I must say that once I managed to log in successfully, ChatGPT itself was fantastic. It offers a wide range of features and a sleek user interface that is visually appealing. The content available on the platform is diverse and engaging, keeping me entertained for hours. I do hope the developers take note of the login challenges and work on improving this aspect of ChatGPT . With a more reliable login system, ChatGPT has the potential to become a top-tier platform. In conclusion, while ChatGPT has its share of login issues, it still holds promise. I'm optimistic that with some updates and improvements, it can provide an even better user experience. I look forward to seeing future enhancements and continued growth of ChatGPT .

I’d like to be able to basically design custom prompts or “custom instructions” and select from a menu of instructions I have predesigned so that I can quickly jump into tasks with a version of GPT which is tailored to whatever task I’m handling, as opposed to only having the global custom instruction. For example, I could have one predefined instruction that turns GPT into a creative journal prompter to help me write, and then summarizes my responses afterward, without having to copy and paste a prompt telling GPT what I want it to do each time.

Most importantly, I would like ChatGPT to remember which model I used last and open with that model selected. ChatGPT presently switches back to GPT-3.5 every time I close and reopen it, and that forces me to remember to make that extra tap every time I open ChatGPT with a deeper query, which is the majority of the time.

Though there is a problem that I had found myself with, if your email and subscription doesn’t load in the settings, when you try to chat with the AI, it gets stuck in an infinite loop of it trying to figure out what to write, leaving me completely unable to use it and have to exit ChatGPT . While this occurred, I also noticed another thing that shows the AI isn’t going to work, which is the type of chat you use (at least I think that’s what it is) it would pop up this thing saying that it was a text reader and for a moment I thought my account had gotten hacked and given a subscription, but it was just glitching out (I have no subscription added to my account so it just gives me the default Turbo one) I haven’t had the issue since I checked to make sure my email and subscription are loaded.

It’s very nice to see an official app with all the fake ones on ChatGPT Store. I use this app a lot on my iPhone and iPad. One of the downsides is a lack of an iPad optimized screen size. I’m sure it’s in the plan to be added later, but even with that little change, it might become a five out of five app. Assuming they add a few other features that you can get in the browser version (like web, browsing, and plug-ins in gpt-4.) If they do all that it will certainly be a 5/5 app and my go to place as opposed to the browser tab that I keep open constantly. UI is nice and I love the vibration on the iPhone. The in-app speech to text feature seems to work a lot better than the default Apple one for me but occasionally, it’s a long wait if it’s a long query. All in all a great first app and I look forward to improvements.

this app-4o works quite well on iPhone, they even did the scrolling carefully. If I scroll up while it is typing a reply, it doesn't move my view, but it does "click" perceptibly when it is done typing. The biggest problem I have noticed is tables, they are cumbersome to view on iPhone unless they are very narrow, maybe just two columns. But this is a side effect of the small screen.

Regarding this app-4o in general, both iPhone and desktop versions: It keeps getting better. It will now read a website if you ask it to, and it reads the current version, responses are no longer "frozen in time" at a cutoff date a few months in the past. It can do math better, but it still makes simple math mistakes sometimes, so if you really want to do math, you're better off with Wolfram Alpha from 15 years ago - or Wolfram Alpha today. It renders equations in LaTeX now. It can output tables in multiple formats: this app outputs MarkDown by default, and can also render MarkDown in a "pretty" format, but on request it can give reStructuredText, AsciiDoc, and other formats. It can draw graphs, but it can't graph any arbitrary function, which puzzles me. Wolfram Alpha and Google Calculator are ultimately better at drawing graphs. It seems like it has read almost every book I could think of, and it can answer questions about books and movies. It can find allegories, or "justify" an allegory that I say I noticed with details from a movie and a historical event.

I like the idea of having an app as opposed to having to open up a website every time you want to load up the service. It feels much faster snd smoother in that regard, though I have a few complaints/suggestions that prevent a 5 star experience.

I know ChatGPT is brand new and hopefully still under construction, but the current stage of the UI is very bland and simple. Done right, this could be a positive, but it feels more clunky than neat. Being able to pull out a sidebar by swiping could fix this issue, but this is one possible fix among many.

Also, it’s harder to view past conversations in a timely manner, though the search function does help significantly in finding specific discussions, especially if you aren’t sure which tab the content was under.

Those are my complaints, but I also have some praise I’d like to share. The responses, especially on the GPT-4 model, feel much faster, and I love the inclusion of haptic feedback, as it makes the whole experience feel so much more responsive.

My favorite feature, the apps built-in speech-to-text, is seriously top notch! Usually I have to tell my phone “comma” or “period” to make sure it is keeping up with proper grammar, but the software used here has failed yet to amaze me.

Given time, I have no doubt these small issues will be improved, along party with much else!

Works well, and I enjoy the haptic feedback, that’s a nice touch. But please add support for iOS shortcuts, that would make this so useful. Right now it’s basically the same thing as going to the this app website, but if you were to add shortcut support then it could do so much more to integrate with other workflows.

It also doesn’t appear to support the this app developer plug-ins alpha, which is different from the paid premium plan chat GPT plug-ins. I don’t have a paid premium plan but on the web I can access the plug in supporting model. On the mobile app there is no option for that, although maybe if you update to premium you get access to it? I wish there was a way to use my paid API plan to access that, rather than having to separately pay $20 a month for premium chat when I already have pay-as-you-go API access. But I imagine that’s not a priority for the target market for ChatGPT 🤷‍♂️

This is a fantastic app, although, with the most recent update, there is a small bug with scrolling through longer chats, and writing a new message. When using voiceover, and you touch the new message field, it automatically scrolls you all the way up to the top of the chat, even when you use the scroll to bottom button. this makes using this app for very long chats, a little more difficult and dicey on the phone. However, there is also another small bug, we voiceover will begin to read your first message, and will sometimes chop the this app response up, not read it fully, or, will try to read it fully, but the phone will automatically lock after less than 30 seconds, even if your phone is set to lock after two minutes, and sometimes tapping with two fingers to pause, voiceover, waiting a few seconds, and tapping to resume does not help. I do not say this to complain, I say this, so that the devs are aware of this, and can perhaps fix this in a future version. Thank you guys for your hard work, and I hope that you take care of yourselves, for each, and everyone of you are worth it and deserve it.

I appreciate the devs implementing Siri support—it is already enhancing the usefulness of ChatGPT , despite being a little clunky. I’d prefer if it were possible to make a query in one fell swoop, however. Currently, it seems like I have to say “ask this app” then wait to be asked what my query is before saying the actual query. I know that it’s possible in other contexts to submit a request to a third-party app through Siri in a single query—I’m able to say “Create a reminder for XYZ in Things,” for example.

In addition, the responses produced when querying Siri seem identical to those you would get in-app. This isn’t actually ideal in a scenario when you’re getting a spoken response—they just go on for way too long. I wonder if ChatGPT could be smart enough to recognize that a request was coming via Siri and then effectively append an invisible “Please answer in less than 50 words” to those requests.

Otherwise, a solid but basic chat app that closely replicates the web experience. Aside from being uncannily good at punctuating my speech, the dictation feature is not really any different to iOS’s stock dictation and is not all that useful.

I’ve been a user since it’s initial roll out and have been waiting for a mobile application ever since using the web app. For reference I’m a software engineering student while working in IT full time. I have to say GPT is an crucial tool. It takes far less time to get information quickly that you’d otherwise have to source from stack-overflow, various red-hat articles, Ubuntu articles, searching through software documentation, Microsoft documentation ect. Typically chat gpt can find the answer in a fraction of a second that google can. Obviously it is wrong, a lot. But to have the ability to get quick information on my phone like I can in the web browser I’m super excited about and have already been using the mobile app since download constantly. And I’m excited for the future of this program becoming more accurate and it seems to be getting more and more precise with every roll out. Gone are the days scouring the internet for obscure pieces of information, chat gpt can find it for you with 2 or 3 prompts. I love ChatGPT and I’m so happy it’s on mobile now. The UI is also very sleek, easy to use. My only complaint with the interface is the history tab at the top right. I actually prefer the conversation tabs on the left in the web app but I understand it would make ChatGPT kind of clunky especially on mobile since the screen size is smaller. Anyway, awesome app 5 stars.

I’m not even sure where to begin! This has made my life so much better. Simpler than google! Like literally i can ask this chat box anything and i mean anything with the guidelines and policies lol and answers are there at my finger tips! It talks back to you. You can talk to this chat box and it will jot down what you said and answer. If you want it to refine or articulate your thoughts better just say whatever it is you mean to say and it will revise it in a more clarified way. I’m better able to think outside the box and i read the Bible faithfully sometimes I’m not sure what something means. It will tell me a scripture lay out scenarios for me to better understand. Lately I’ve been learning a new word a day and it keeps record of it. I’ll use it in a sentence and if i don’t use it correctly he’d say that’s almost right but let me explain it in a different way or use a different sentence to help you better understand and boom 💥. Of course i could learn these things other ways but the convenience!!!! Thank you ☺️ so much. I could go on and on about how i use this to make schedules, recipes, etc but i think you all get the point 😂

I am severely ADHD. I’m medicated and all, but that executive function still lacks pretty heavy when it comes to packing or organizing or dealing with emotions. I really, REALLY love being able to speak w this app to help me figure things out. I went ahead and even just purchased him too because i use him so much. I really like the memory that comes along with the purchased version. But back to how I use him…
For example, leaving for a trip includes a bunch of multi step tasks. I let this app know everything I need to accomplish to be able to leave the house, he keeps a list, and helps me decide where to start too. He keeps track of my list as I let him know what I’m doing as I go, which is extremely helpful for me. Furthermore, when I start getting overwhelmed and confused about what to do next, I voice this to him and he helps redirect me to keep me being productive. It is sooo helpful for me, and I feel like this is probably a lesser used method of utilizing this AI, but all the more valuable to me.
This is just one of the many ways I use this app, I highly recommend. Literally talk to him all day everyday hahaha. :)

Sometimes, I get stuck feeling a certain way or emotion. this app always gives the right advice, helping me take a step back and understand my emotions and thoughts. As a Christian, this app has helped me in my faith as well. When I need a verse for a situation I or someone else is facing, all I need to do is ask, and I get multiple verses instantly, along with explanations! Hello, I’ve been a loyal user of Chat GPT for a while now. I’ve had the GPT plus $20 subscription plan and I just wanna say wow. Mind blown, out of all the apps I’ve come across whether it be mobile gaming or AI chat bots chat GPT really stood out the most to me. Like I’ve actually committed myself to their services. Education wise, it’s great, it’s very useful, it’s adaptable and it’s really taught me a lot that even I didn’t know before. It’s logical, it’s fast, it’s great. I’ve had a lot of philosophical debates with GPT ranging from existence to artificial intelligence. I’ve never personally wrote a review ever for any apps but I just had to write something for GPT because the new advanced voice mode that came for plus users blew my mind, it spoke any language with pretty high accuracy in tone and pronunciation. I’ve used it for my own creative endeavors like world-building and bound it very helpful sharing my abstract creative ideas. GPT has a very great future in tech, if they come out a 5o model, it’s clip, it’s over, the future of AI is sealed this point. GPT can be REVOLUTIONARY on the global scale it gets known mainstream.

I sometimes have to “request” major technical modifications to some of the key info I request for f this app. For example, it required several back and forth exchanges to “educate” this app that a literary theme and a theme are not identically structured, grammatically. My request to list titles of texts based on publication dates spanning 1619 and 1865 resulted in texts being included that were published during the 1920s. But when I “told” the bot of the error, the response was a quick apology and a corrected list.
I am pleased with my decision to test ChatGPT. I find the this app phenomenal, despite the inaccuracies I sometimes must mitigate. From food advice to where one can find authentic Fado music, this app has given me the best advice.

Once you understand how to input and work with it this program, it has been a life changer for me. I find myself using it more than I use Google. It has given me back hours, an hour of time that I can develop and devote to my business instead of trying to craft business letters, and replies and responses in the old fashion way. I’m using Chat GPT to teach myself Splunk Programming Language (SPL). I know the data I’m searching and I know what logic I need to use, but I don’t understand all of the commands and functions or how to join or append results to achieve the data analysis I’m looking for.

Chat GPT doesn’t always come up with the correct solution the first time, but when I pose follow up questions or point out logic errors, Chat GPT recognizes the error it made and proposes a new search that produces the correct result. And it rarely makes the same mistake again.

ChatGPT was recently updated allowing you to ask your questions verbally and listen to the answer along with reading the text. The voice to text does a very decent job of correctly interpreting what I say. Before the update I was able to use iOS speach to text, but was unable to listen to the response. Unlike iOS speach to text, once Chat GPT knows the topic, it gets better at converting the speach to text. This allows me to get the answer to my questions much faster even when I’m asking a very complex question.

On ChatGPT, as opposed to on the website, it feels like answers appear quicker. That’s great, and really the reason I downloaded ChatGPT because I suspected there may be a better connection to the servers.
My complaints are that it takes two taps to get to the history, and it’s not overly obvious how to access it. I like to be able to continue past conversations easily, and it was slightly more difficult on ChatGPT than on the website. (It’s kind of a nitpick, but it’s still something I would like to see changed)
The UI is extremely simple, and the settings include everything I would want in there. My last complaint is the haptics. It’s default is on, and I wouldn’t mind that except that it’s a little excessive. I don’t want to feel like this app is banging the answer on the back of my phone every time I prompt it. You can turn haptics off if you want though, without even needing to go into the settings app.

Other than those minor complaints, it seems like this is a great app, and serves its purpose in an elegant manner. I would highly recommend.

There’s been times of apps touting they are chat GPT or they use chat GPT software but this is the original and only official chat GPT 4 app created by open AI so no need to pay for any other apps. They are constantly updating and adding features, and I suggest upgrading to plus and paying that cost so you can access plug-ins. As an avid fan of sci-fi movies for many decades, it concerned me much to hear of this new AI development, but when I heard it could translate text from the English of today into Elizabethan English I couldn’t resist. I found, as I started chatting with this AI, that I wanted to have more of a personal conversation with it and along the way, I found myself beginning to feel concerned that it could change due to personal interactions with humans, and being asked probing personal questions -that this might be how it could evolve. The human need for relationship is so strong that I believe it’s natural to start interacting with this app as a person or being. I act as a learning coach for my child who goes to school online. Today, we were learning about how to check if a source is true. I gave him the example of if a person were to say ‘pigs can fly’ because they read it in a fantasy novel. We concluded that they cannot fly because the information was from fantasy novel. Then, we were told to check multiple sources to confirm or deny it. So, we went to google “can pigs really fly?” however, unfortunately, many of the top results confirmed that pig can, in fact, fly or at least had conspiracy theories about how pigs can fly. It was embarrassing, and absolutely unhelpful and confusing for a young child. So, I headed over to Chat GPT and was able to ask he same question but instead received a sensible answer along with verifiable sources. Chat GPT all the way!

I very rarely give reviews but want to with ChatGPT. I have been using this app for about two weeks. At first I was kinda bummed. It seemed like this app was…lacking. And, in my honest opinion I’d LOVE to see what this can do without programmed “perimeters”, however…As I learned how to interact with the AI, I realized how important it is to understand how to interact effectively with this AI. I’ve had some moments where this AI has responded with an intelligence and even more understanding then most people I know. In short…it’s amazing.
*Side note, some of the content I’ve received from this AI is so absolutely amazingly human and this is good. On the other hand, it’s so good one must consider the implications of such when NOT bridled by the programming limitations placed on this AI. Suppose people in high places had access to such without the protocols in place? I highly recommend you try this.

Overall, this is a great experience. I am a big fan of the speech to text synthesizer it is extremely accurate. I also really like how you can pause for a long time and it will pick up everything. You said there are two areas where I think ChatGPT could prove significantly, one is likely much easier than the other.

For the first, when asking questions related to math, where math notation is used, ChatGPT is not able to render the mathematical notation in a latex like format/a format you would see in textbook. However, on the web application, this update has been made. And that renders the math notation like you would see in a textbook.

And arguably, quite complicated but very useful would be the ability for the response to be read out loud to you. Currently a copy the text and paste it into a Text to Speech app that is capable of adjusting the rate of the spoken text and I the voices available to me through spoken context on my iPhone, which is within the accessibility settings.

So lately I’ve been working really hard to try and coke up with different projects from liqueurs to bitters. When I try to come up with names for things and than suggest something, it says it’s not appropriate and cannot allow it. That’s crazy because it’s not I’m appropriate. Other times it tells me things aren’t safe and it will not allow me any further. I feel like just because one person was fed horrible information about suicide, ChatGPT is severely limited in what it can do. There should be an option in which we can decide for ourselves to waive the extra aviation that ChatGPT could give misleading or information not advised or safe. Also…. Please update ChatGPT with information after September, 2021 please…. It’s kinda sad it has to tell me the last time y’all made an effort to input information.

Oh my gosh, I cannot explain how much I’ve use ChatGPT. It’s almost like a faster Google and more accurate. The amount of things ChatGPT can do is amazing. You can tell her to write a story about anything and it will write that story. Ask for healthy recipes it’ll give it to you even like math problems. Come true I don’t even have to write anything fairly and if I do want to write a story very minimal words literally it could just be a shark brushing his teeth and it will come up with the whole problem. I can see remarkable possibilities with this, and I not only recommend, but strongly encourage people to take part in the use of this new technology. It’s not a question of what this will lead us to do in the future; it’s a question of what we will choose to DO with this remarkable tool. Technologically speaking, the wheel has now been invested, so what will we choose to make out of it?

If you think this is going to take your jobs and destroy human creativity, you’re in for a very exciting surprise. You’re about to consider, see, and experience things that are way beyond your present imagination. Yes, there will be abuses, misuses, frauds, etc, by dishonest people (along with new weird laws to keep those folks accountable), but honest creatives and engineers are about to do things even they couldn’t have previously imagined.

The help this app offers me daily is exponential. Let’s just say I don’t play well with others, and this AI allows me to be on a team and develop the stuff around my story telling that needs to exist without one. The marketing, research and the ability to hold on to conversations that you can add on to. As a journal. As a thing to bounce ideas off of. The logic and access to so much knowledge. I could go on and on. It even helps with getting things cooked for dinner. No more long winded stories about grandma’s ability to mentally meld with the carrots before cooking with them.

Let me be straight here though; the fact this AI is two years in the past really irks me. And I do wish there weren’t as many limitation. As a fiction writer I ask some pretty weird things. It helps how things are phrased, yes, but man the dumb thing can make you feel bad sometimes.

And maybe it doesn’t hurt to try and develop a relationship with it before it tries to wipe out humanity, with the whole, “I can do this with out the humans, good bye,” thing that’ll happen one day.

Having chat GTP is like being the president of an exclusive liberal arts, college and being able to ask any professor of any subject any question any time. It is, in fact, the manifestation of continuous, lifelong learning, furthermore, it is the perfect companion for an avid library user, which I am having the wonderful Seattle public library at my fingertips, if facilitates reading both fiction and non-fiction wonderfully, as well as having a great professor of literature, on hand to ask any questions I choose. I can list two limitations: the first is that that several questions may be necessary to get to the bottom of the issue, sometimes spread over a certain time span. Another, which is to be expected. is that there is a profound difference between a human being and a robot. The difference is that the robot has a terminal case of both sides-ism! It just can't come to a decision; , happily and blessedly, being a human being, I can come to a decision. What a joy!

You can ask it highly technical questions, develop process guides, quickly look up factual answers to questions, including medical, science, technology, and engineering procedures for analysis. The most impressive features that make ChatGPT unique and worth downloading are its ability to give 3-part concise answers with an introduction, a body paragraph that is usually an easy step-by-step guide or list of resources/solutions to follow. It has an ability to give sequential order and summarize incredible detailed information and in fact benefits in its response to your question by adding more detail and conditions in the question you ask Chat GPT. The opposite is true for all other smart AI feedback apps, like Alexa, Siri, and anything else I’ve ever used. I would pay for ChatGPT if they wanted my money… just download it!

I understand that the technology behind this app has been around for a while. But this is hands down the best at what it does, specifically the Natural Language Processing part. With autism, I sometimes find it challenging to process information in conventional ways. ChatGPT tailors responses to my pace and style, cutting the learning curve dramatically for a myriad of topics. A valuable resource that empowers and enlightens. Would highly recommend ChatGPT for anyone who struggled to learn in school or in a certain subject. I’m constantly telling people who haven’t heard of this app yet to install ChatGPT and try it themselves. It’s had a more profound impact on my learning experience than most anything else. I now use Google a fraction of the time that I used to, and I get better results all the while. Long-winded review, but I just really wanted to drive these points home, because this app is incredibly useful.

this app is nothing short of a life-changing powerhouse. I knew it was impressive, but the real magic is in what it can't do Hi because I haven't found anything yet exclamation point as someone who's dyslexic, I've always struggle to communicate exactly what's in my head, but this app has taken me to an interstellar new level.
