Still waiting for my money

I like the idea of Twine, but it is definitely difficult to set up/use. I started a goal and deposited over $400 into it. After realizing I needed that money invested elsewhere, I closed the goal and was told my money would be deposited into my bank account. It’s been a couple weeks now and every time I open Twine , it still says “selling your investments”. Meanwhile, I’m still losing money on the $400 there. I’ve lost $13+ (which doesn’t sound like a lot, but is kind of a big deal when you requested your money back a week ago and can’t access it. It’s just sitting there, losing value.)

Still waiting for my money back. Was hoping to start another goal, but after this experience, I’ll be closing my account and investing elsewhere. You’re better off investing in the stock market where you’ll find a better interest rate and may actually be easier than using Twine.

This is just the begin....

I thought it would be a good idea to actually use Twine to save for a vacation. But As I see now it is an inconvenience that would have been better off avoided. I have submitted for withdrawal of my funds on August 12th, it’s August 23rd which is well 7-10 business days. I emailed and called customer service with no help or assistance just to be told “wait”. I
have used multiple apps that dealt with investment. It’s ridiculous that it even takes so long to get my funds. Other Apps take maximum of 5 days from portfolio to bank account (E*TRADE, Stash and etc). These folks are doing something they aren’t suppose to be doing. I have informed them they will be hearing from my lawyer. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. As well as I’m going to Report them to Apple to see if they can get Twine removed from Twine Store. Twine was a nice concept but the wrong people are running it which makes it a terrible thing.

Needs a save and back button

trying to figure out how it works, see what it is, but it seems to say lots of “we’ll get to this later” after putting in lots of info now just in the “emergency fund” example. now i’m at the end and it wants to confirm creating the account to transfer money into.

um... where?

i don’t know enough about Twine, also what if i do want it but i don’t want to go back and enter everything again? does this app have its own money market account with fees? it doesn’t say ANYTHING.

how do i really know i’ve chosen the right percentages of money? (suggesting something takes 3 years is not really enough to go off of, what if i need that cash now or prior to a check being cashed?) there would be no fees for them if i did something i shouldn’t have, so there needs to be more safety barriers such as:

rather than a single CONFIRM button how about a pause:

are you sure you want to do this? this will leave you with X $$$ according to what you entered.

Go back - this will save your progress to go over with your partner since you selected 2 people.

what about tips like: Do not get a credit card? which prey on low income people such as myself?

How do i know they won’t try to up sell me on their investment portfolios like credit card companies do at a college orientation fair?

please don’t just tell me to read the fine print, i need a FAQ that is clear.

Not Working

**I will update when issues are resolved

I deposited $85 in our shared account last week and there is NO WAY to withdraw it, see recent activity, or see statements. All it is letting me do is change the name of the goal and the amount!! All it says is that I have a recurring deposit of $300 I don’t even remember setting. My fiancé has recent activity and all of the features enabled so as far as I’m concerned they took my money and ran with it. I’ve emailed customer service twice so hopefully we can get this figured out.

Edit: Customer service solved the problem. Thank you :)

Spare yourself

I requested a withdrawal on November 30. It's now December 16. I used Twine to save money for a vacation. I wanted to withdraw the money to pay for my plane ticket and hotel. Now I've had to charge it all to a credit card. Which, now I’ll get charged interest for if I don't get my money by the end of this month. So I’ll have LOST money. Do NOT use Twine for small goals. I understand that it takes longer to withdraw money than to deposit. I used to work for a financial planning firm and I know investments can be complicated. But if my company had ever told someone it’ll take X amount of days for your money to come back to you and we didn't get them their money before that timeline...we would have been flogged. this app gets to hide behind a 1800 # I can't get through and a ”contact us” page that seems useless. I want my money. Where the hell is my money?!

Can never connect or work

I am really not one to write reviews for apps but this one just pushed me over the edge. I’ve had it for months now and I tried every few weeks to get it to work hoping that an update fixed the problem.
I sign in, it send me to a waiting screen that I can’t exit without logging out and never actually lets me in Twine . When I log out and log back in, it always tells me to reconnect my bank no matter what. I think I had one successful transfer before it said it can’t connect with my bank. It just doesn’t work for me, and even though I’d like to automatically put some money away, it doesn’t work and doesn’t help me. I’m sorry but I just can’t use it, please fix these bugs in an update.

Just give me my money back!

I downloaded Twine as a suggestion to save money. Well needless to say, I no longer need Twine , I’ve been saving through other ways. I’ve closed the goal, closed the account... I’ve been waiting for the funds to transfer back into account (just as swiftly as they were transferred out) and I have yet to receive them. It’s been well over 10 business days! And when dealing with money, I need to speak to a real person! Not sending a request and waiting for an e-mail response (that I have yet to RECEIVE). I’m so frustrated and seriously regret downloading Twine ! So if you’re like me and already have a checking/savings account work with your bank and I’m sure they can assist you with saving money instead of using Twine. Because essentially your money is up in the air.

Terrible Customer Support

First off, I like the design of Twine and how friendly it is to people new to money markets. My partner and I opened an account to save for holidays together and the lack of fuss is delightful.

Unfortunately, I am still unable to access any parts of Twine on my end, essentially. My partner is able to contribute to our shared account, but this app has been telling me the account is being opened for me for the past several months (and the message in Twine says it should take less than an hour!).

I’ve contacted this app support a couple times but it seems nothing they’ve done has helped. It’s become frustrating to the point where I may just open a joint account the old-fashioned way.

Twine is getting worse.

this app used to be much better but has been going downhill for awhile. There are all kinds of app problems and support takes FOREVER to respond. It almost reminds me of when a project loses its most talented devs. I’m actively searching for an alternative.

UPDATE: So we closed all of our cash accounts and switched to Wealthfront for our joint savings. It’s not ideal but their app is much less buggy, we can open multiple cash accounts, see each other’s savings, get a much better apy, and hopefully access the same joint accounts in the near future.

I’ve never tried investing with this app but my wife did by accident. The fact that you can’t find any detailed information on portfolio performance or allocation is extremely concerning.

Recently Buggy, Otherwise Great

I’ve used Twine for about 6 months saving for a wedding with my significant partner and it’s been great!

However, over the last few weeks every time I log in it says that i haven’t been logged in and I have to verify my identity. It makes me request a text and enter the number that gets texted to me. This never happened for 6 months and now it does it every time I log in, saying I haven’t been logged in.

Not sure why this has happened, but it’s annoying and frustrating. Otherwise, this would be 5 stars. Awesome app once this is fixed.

Skeptical at first, now saving more than ever

I would recommend this app to anyone. I’ve been using Twine for about a year now and it’s the best decision I’ve made. I’ve saved so much using their service and it’s so simple to use! To anyone who is struggling to keep some extra cash in their bank, I highly recommend this app. They have different categories for saving too so you can organize your spending, or save for emergencies, and vacations at the same time!

Now i’m finally saving

As someone who’s never really had savings before...it’s a great feeling to know i finally have some money saved without having to worry about it all the time!!

What i like is that it will withdraw in weekly increments. So even if your monthly deposit is a big(ish) sum, you won’t really notice it in your account. I was surprised to see how much i had already saved. I’m really motivated to get to my savings goal now..for the first time ever!

Great for couples

My fiancé and I are paying for most of our wedding and had trouble saving at first. This allowed us to save together, keep each other accountable, and know when we will have all of our money for the wedding! You can make one time deposits that will make the month you have your goal adjust. We have not withdrawn anything yet.

Where is my money

I downloaded Twine thinking this would be a good way for my fiancé and I to save for our wedding/ honeymoon. Did not realize that it was only for iPhone and he couldn’t use Twine . I thought I deleted Twine and closed my account. Well I did not and $125 was just automatically taken from my account. I also didn’t realize that the money was invested so I lost a little bit of that $125. When I closed the account properly I was told I would be getting my money back. That is a lie and I have only received $1.67 back and nobody from customer service will answer me. So basically I just lost money that I needed for my wedding. Don’t use this service!
