About Faithful Counseling

All counselors are licensed, trained, experienced, and accredited psychologists (PhD / PsyD), marriage and family therapists (LMFT), clinical social workers (LCSW / LMSW), or licensed professional counselors (LPC).

By combining Biblical wisdom with clinical expertise in mental health, our counselors invite God into the conversation through prayer while formulating actionable plans to best address the unique challenges their clients face.

Additionally, every counselor has self-identified as a practicing Christian, shared their testimony with us prior to joining the platform, and has verified that their beliefs align with our Statement of Faith.

Your counselor will log in to the same room, read your messages, and respond with feedback, insights, and guidance.

You and your counselor will be given a dedicated virtual "room,” which will be your private and secure way of communicating.

The frequency of your sessions would vary based on your availability, and the interaction between you and your counselor.

You may also have phone or video based sessions with your counselor, facilitated through this app.

The thousands of counselors of Faithful Counseling are a group of practicing Christians that provide therapy online.

We bring therapy into your life on your terms through direct messaging, phone, and video chats with licensed professionals.

Worth every penny

Hands down the most affordable and quality care I’ve ever experienced. Less than 1/3 the cost for care that is easily 10x the quality I experienced in traditional therapy locally. The convenience of messaging outside of my weekly session helped me conquer my biggest hurdle with every counselor - that dreaded first session that feels really expensive and unproductive as you get to know each other. When I’m in crisis, I want to get help and learn actionable steps to get me out of my current scenario because I feel out of control. The ability to message allowed my counselor and I to connect and get all of the basics out of the way so that in our first session we brought me tremendous closure on a topic id previously spent years in other counseling services not realizing was a root issue to be addressed. Cannot recommend the services enough.

Not very happy with this

I was very excited when I learned there was an online counseling for Christians. I work long hours and needed to have a counselor that could work with that. First off this is really expensive and they charge you not by week but by month. For one month it was over $200. Second after filling out the tons of surveys they have you fill out my counselor was ok at first. She answered my questions but you could tell they were scripted and nothing that I had not heard before. Then it got interesting. I had a meeting scheduled with her and she canceled due to a family emergency or that’s what she told me. About two weeks later I was held late at work in a meeting and I missed the start of my session. I messaged her apologizing and she proceeded to tell me that her time was important and that this was the second time I had canceled on her and that she had other patients who would really like to have my spot. I told her that no I had not and that she had canceled on me the first time. After almost an entire day she messaged back and said I was right and would I like to reschedule. No apology or anything. I quit the service if this is the kind of service I’m going to get for paying a stupid amount of money then I don’t want it. I will not tell others to use this service or use it myself again. Very disappointed.

Huge disappointment & very expensive

My husband wanted a male counselor but they gave him a woman. They say unlimited texting/messaging but it is one a day, maybe! And then it is very short almost and probably automatic questions. He ended up having 3 sessions only in 2 month subscription and the cost was almost $600. The counselor did nearly all of the talking and for the most part we could only see the bottom quarter of her face during the session I sat in on at her request. The company has some real issues to fix, but while you are waiting they are charging you for that week! The counselor didn’t show up for one of our sessions while we waited for her. We did a screen shot to prove the scheduled time that she missed. The next time she was available was the following week, so we paid for a week with no session. By that time we were frustrated and canceled our subscription. When you do that, the company says it can’t refund you because they don’t have your email on active status so there “is no email associated” with an account with them. For a “Christian” company, their ethics do not match this! I absolutely do not recommend them.

Best decision I ever made.

I had been nervous about counseling for years. I heard about faithful counseling through a podcast I listen to called Hearr of Dating. I kept it in the back of my mind every episode I heard about it but it wasn’t until seeing it as a sponsor for their first conference and then having a moment 3 months later that pushed me to sign up.

The sign up process was easy with the short survey about you and what kind of counseling you need. I was matched up with my counselor in a few short hours.

I lone that they’re multiple ways to have a session, and the message board that lets you share with your counselor outside a session. You can also give feedback about the ease of or lack of ease using FaithfulCounseling after a session.

It’s also really affordable, with different pay options for weekly, monthly, quarterly. I can’t say enough about FaithfulCounseling, or my counselor. She’s helped me walk through some very challenging things this past year and helped me find Jesus along the way, and tools to take with me through life, like mindfulness and boundaries.

If you’re looking for a Christian counselor or have been wanting to try it, but maybe a little nervous, give this a try. I have not regretted it but only wished I’d done it sooner. :)

Good app - affordable

The reason why a lot of people go untreated is because of pricing. They made it really affordable and I qualified for financial help. I really thought we wouldn't qualify but I tried anyway and got 40% off.
They did make it a little confusing on the subscription switch. I signed up for 2 week free trial and then turned off the subscription in my iTunes account but it charged me anyway and I had her for another month. Which was fine because it was helpful but it was an unexpected bill.
I used there service for about a month and a half. It really was helpful to have someone check in on me. I stopped there service because I've been doing great but if I should ever need to talk to someone again, I'll be sure to go to them. They're fairly affordable but it's worth it when it comes to you. :)

My counselor was nice enough. I would have liked a little more probing on her part to get me talking. she just lent a listening ear which is ok but I would like advice on how to handle certain situations and use scripture references to help. I've always wanted a Christian counselor but I didn't feel like she really was. No inclusion of the Bible in any of our discussions which is what I asked for and wanted.
So overall good as far as FaithfulCounseling goes but I think they need to do more checking with counselors and make sure they're everything the client asks for.

Life changer

Knowing that I can talk to my therapist at least once a week has been super helpful for me, especially during quarantine. The more I do it, the more clearly I can see the importance of talking to someone about what’s going on in your head and heart. I also am super thankful to have found a therapist who can integrate scripture into our sessions.

I believe it’s well worth the cost. They also subsidize the cost based on your current financial status. Therapy has become a priority to me and I find what I learn in my sessions playing a big part in every single part of my life. In areas where I used to feel hopeless, I now have a lighter weight there. My therapist helps to shed light on things I hadn’t thought of before and gives me mental tools to implement in difficult life season and just every day mental health practices.

Exactly what’s needed!!

I’ve never tried one-on-one counseling before. When I started having panic attacks a few months ago, I had no idea what was going on and thought I was having a mental breakdown. All the counselors that I reached out to in my area weren’t taking new clients or were booked months in advance.

I’d heard of Faithful Counseling on a podcast. I researched other companies, but decided to give this one a try because I wanted someone who would incorporate faith into the sessions.

I did not “vibe” with the counselor FaithfulCounseling assigned. Instead of giving up, I decided I’d give it one more try before I quit. I’m so glad I did!! Lynette has been a Godsend!! I don’t know how I’d be managing this without her. I’d pay double if I had to in order to get this level of attention and help. Well worth the investment!

I was skeptical but...

They’ve really outdone themselves with this whole platform. Everything is smooth, caring and it provides you with a great deal of ways to get you thinking and working on yourself that feel effortless. It really is on par with the best apps in the industry and to think Christ is welcome here and my counselor understand how significant Jesus is to me and incorporates that into the sessions. What a blessing Faithful Counsel is. Thank you.

The only criticism is I had to wait a little less than 30 hours to be matched with my therapist which when you are first reaching out for help feels like an eternity. But it’s a great match and I’m sure some people worked really hard behind the scenes to make the right match because it is. Hang in there, it’s worth it.

Great app but doesn't work with insurance

For the therapy itself, Faithful Counseling delivered everything it advertised. Easy to use, convenient, accessible. I appreciated the sessions with my therapist.

However, a word of warning for those who would like to use health insurance to cover part of the services, it is an absolute paperwork PAIN to try to get this covered. FC is pretty clear upfront that they don't work with insurance companies claims, and since they are the platform rather than provider, they can't help with certain details that one might need to get reimbursed. Just wanted to reiterate this.

It's not Faithful Counseling's fault for this, since again, they are clear about this upfront and their pricing and financial aid is a nice alternative, but this insurance bit is a separate roadblock that I want to make sure people know about as they seek mental health services.

My impression of Faithful Counselor

Faithful Counselor has been a life saver for me. Lynne has been wonderful and a confident. I can text her at any point of any day and tell her how I am doing knowing that I will receive a response. On our time together on the phone, we waste no time before we get right to the point (problem). I was very skeptical about on line therapy but all my fears have gone. It is so much better than face to face bc I can leave Lynne a message as the problem is facing me. In fact it’s 2:00 am right now and I have just unloaded on her through text instead of having to wait till the next session which is usually a week and I have either forgotten or the details are not as fresh. Thank you for having this wonderful ministry! God Bless Faithful Counselor and Lynne!!!

Life-saving, life-altering

I can’t express in enough words how much Faithful Counseling is helping me through my trauma, anxiety and fear! These counselors are experienced. They are full of love, guidance and understanding. They validate all my feelings and give me helpful Bible verses, life tips, mental, emotional and spiritual support. All topics you need help with can be addressed. There is healing. There is love. There is help for what you need help with. It has been invaluable to receive counseling from a Christian perspective for me. My faith in God is the most important thing in my life, so it has been a great comfort to have people on my side who think and feel similarly about God. Get this resource if you want to work through the intense, deep problems you face.

Great option for therapeutic support!

I couldn’t be happier with Faithful Counseling and highly recommend this service! We had to move to a new state for a few months right after mental health crises and I was worried about how to get good support right away, so took the plunge and tried this out. I’m so grateful I did! My therapist was immediately responsive and is very experienced, wise, warm, highly skilled, and caring, and I have felt amazingly supported and helped, both through the written sessions and live sessions. I look forward to her response every morning, and she has also shared worksheets and other helpful items, and shared Bible wisdom and prayer as well. This is a wonderful option for therapy!

Very Helpful

The convenience of having a counselor reassure you that things are going to be okay via text communication is extremely helpful. Though the sessions are short (30 minutes) a lot can be discussed. There is an option to have extra sessions during the week, but those are at an extra cost. Perhaps 45 minute sessions would be better, especially at the beginning of your therapy. Or if you could have a choice on the length of the session you would like. Waiting an entire week between sessions can sometimes feel like a very long time. But having the availability of being able to reach out to your counselor via text and even the option to mark it as urgent is very reassuring in times of need.

Online Counseling is Legit

As much as I do think that yes, an in person counselor is ideal, this type of counseling is totally legit and helpful! It’s different for sure and it takes being open to a different approach. I love how you can write whenever you want. The counselor responds within a reasonable time (24 hours if business days) and responds in a manner that I feel is appropriate and relieving. I may decide to go local sometime in the near future only for it being in person and I feel like it may work personally for me long term, but this is awesome and I hope to be able to come back to my counselor in the future when I don’t need something as intense as the local one.

Real and actually helpful

No one wants to go to counseling lol. I sure didn’t want to. This platform makes it super easy to change your counselor and find the right fit. It’s easy as can Be to messsage your counselor and everything is accessible including your scheduling and messages and the access to my counselor feels instant. I didn’t want to call some stranger and tell them my broad-stroked life problems, but frankly she made it OK. She helped me take some pressure off my end of the counseling and just slowly started to open things up. Anyway just a few weeks in but for this dude, I’m going to keep pushing with it.

Brought back from re-lapsing into an addition

I reached out to BetterHelp because I was on my last leg and needed help. I was personally drawn to it because I’m a Christian and was pleasantly surprised to find people from various backgrounds, faiths, and had the option to choose if I even wanted a spiritual aspect to be included. This was important to me because my addiction can lead to a lot of judgement, and I appreciated having options. After couple months with my therapist, I was bought back from going over a cliff to being healthy, content and functioning. I’m grateful for FaithfulCounseling and will come back to it if I need help.

Couldn’t ask for more!

Absolutely love the this app service. I answered some questions about myself on FaithfulCounseling and was paired up with a counselor that clicked with me immediately, offering helpful strategies from day one. Texting with your counselor is great so you can go back and review. Had my first video session today and was so pleased. Highly recommend this!

One thing I didn’t realize when signing up for my first month was that they offer a fairly substantial discount if you sign up for three or more months at a time. Take a look to see what’s best for you. Regardless, I feel I’m getting more than my moneys worth as I feel better already!

Wonderful Therapist!

Because “Wonderful Counselor” is a very Sacred title and only belongs to One. But I was very impressed by the quality of compassionate care with the counselor I worked with. What a friendly, sweet, godly and professional lady. Non-judgement, yet able to guide me to my blind spots so I could better recognize where I’m holding myself back in areas and in many ways helping me see where I can make self-improvements in spite of circumstances, atmosphere, and people. We should always be striving to improve. I felt flat out STUCK in some ways, but I’m coming out. With my hands up. Praise the Lord!

Horrible Scam. If you need counseling get a real in-person counselor!

False advertising says “unlimited counseling” but it only allows you to sign up once every two weeks and they don’t tell you most sessions are only a half hour. You end up paying about $100 per hour for lame phone calls. If you need help get a real in-person counselor. FaithfulCounseling/web site is a total scam to take your money. It did not help my situation at all after 3 months. They keep saying it’ll get better if you go one more month but I found out after I wasted almost a thousand dollars in that time that it doesn’t. (But they keep your money anyway). Two sessions were cancelled or moved too which was really inconvenient. They rescheduled the next week but wouldn’t give any refund for the extra week of receiving no meeting. Go to a professional counselor instead of this online/telemarketer scam.

Helpful

FaithfulCounseling is very helpful. It was a bit frustrating for me at the beginning. Kind of a pain to start up but once you find the right counselor and get it all out. Things move better. It’s not like actually having someone there to talk to in person, but it’s cool that you can write when ever you want as much as you want and need. Especially if your the type that needs to say things when they are fresh on your mind.
I think that the restriction of just communicating thru emails slows the process a lot and can be confusing at times especially if your not sure what is being asked. You have to wait to get an email to clear things up and then move on.

WONDERFUL encouragement and insight

My counselor has honestly been an answer to prayer, and I don’t say that lightly. I felt so helpless and hopeless in a specific life situation. I felt isolated and unsupported because the circumstance my family is dealing with is something that is too difficult for others to discuss openly or know how to help with. My counselor breathed life back into my heart and soul. She’s simply amazing…we can easily chat like friends, but she offers practical steps for me to focus on after each session, empowering me to do what I can, even though the circumstances have not changed.
I only give 3 stars because of the way the billing portion of FaithfulCounseling is set up. If I only want 1 session in a month, the price is the same as 4 sessions in a month, as it is billed monthly, not by how many sessions you have used.
