Fun but could be better

This game is very addictive and fun, however I think it could be better. I think it would help if you could select a certain number of workers to do a task instead of all of them working on one thing, and they sometimes get stuck so it might help if we could select a worker to control and perform tasks with. I would also like if multiple workers could help unlock a building and cars so that it would be faster (just like opening other things). These things could make the game better but not having these isn’t a problem. What is a problem is what happened to me when I got to the second level.

I was almost finished with the second level and was working on fixing the truck. When I broke the rock in front of it, it dropped the fuel tank for the truck and I ordered the workers to open it. It was opened but then it glitched and the workers wouldn’t pick it up, they left it there, and I could not interact with it. I eventually closed SurvivalCityBuilder and opened it again, and when I did the tank was gone and was not added to the truck. Because of this, I can no longer progress.

Needs so much work

I paid the full amount (which is STUPIDLY pricy btw) because I like supporting Indie game developers and I hate ads, but as it is right now, even paying $5 is a bad idea Here’s everything you need to fix, and I really hope you’re taking my and other people’s comments into consideration 1. It takes FOREVER to get items. You basically get one airdrop once in a blue moon, leveling up takes forever and if you haven’t paid anything or watched any ads, it’s slow as molasses. It’s not an idle game, so once you leave, progress halts 2. Paying $17 to still watch long ads when expeditions return is moronic. This should be an automatic 1.5x reward. I’d say the same for airdrops. Paying for airdrops on top of $17…y’all are just greedy at that point 3. Players glitch and get stuck in random corners picking up pieces of nothing off the floor. Sometimes they all stand by the fire for a long time when there’s items to take out of the car or the farm, etc 4. Why do I have 5 people when I have 6 beds, 7 people when I have 8 beds, etc? I upgrade the bedroom and get one person each time. If it’s doubling, I should get two people to account 5. Zoom in and out needs to be better. The feature is barely noticeable and the world is pretty small scaled. With so much happening in the background, a closer zoom in is necessary 6. No offline rewards 7. Can’t access the settings at all on the iPhone 14. Here’s to hoping you make some changes!

Fun but needs some polish

The game is pretty idle so far, the characters do what they want, but unfortunately they sometimes do nothing. They standaround for minutes on end with a full back pack and just stand there. There is an option to watch an ad to get 2 more people so i did. Those people stood around the trash can for 45 seconds before they went to gather materials, then i noticed there was no movement, i found every person huddled around raw materials with full packs doing nothing. Took several minutes to finally see one by one they would take the materials back to the supply. Other than the AI bugging out, the game seems laid back and pretty fun to make progress. the vast majority of the advertisements are buff based so you are not constantly bombarded with ads unless you click to watch them to get ahead faster which is nice.

Little idiots

This game is so bad. It should be called Little Idiots. All your “survivors” are morons. Just watch them. They might all try to collect the same resource, and when it runs out, they just stand there wondering what happened. Or they may partially fill their “backpack” to then go to another pile somewhere else when there were still resources at their feet. They may also walk right past the storage with a partial load to then go across the map to finish filling their backpack and then return to storage. My favorite is when you need them to upgrade or craft something, they will come back with their loads to return them to storage, walking past the crafting site to do so, only to immediately pick up the same resource they just dropped off to storage to then take it to the crafting site they had just passed. You have no real control over these Little Idiots, so they collect whatever resources they want. I also like that I’m near what I believe to be end game and they have given up harvesting food, so I can’t get the required 750 food for the truck. I was hoping to finish the game to be sure it never got better, but the game seems to have made a way to not finish it and the only thing I can have them do is go on expeditions for small amounts of resources.

Adds lies. Needs work. AI is infuriating.

Honestly enjoyable enough to want to watch adds. But first problem/issue…. The add had zombies and I’ve been playing for a week and have yet to come across zombies. So if you see that add, it’s false advertising.
I do not like how the characters all choose to go to same shelf rather then spreading out, and that they cancel out each others work when only so much can come out of a resource pile at once. Can’t control any of characters individually and it’s marking game progress SLOW AND SLUGGISH.
Really discourages me from wanting to keep playing when I’m not doing anything fun or interesting for hours on end.
Really need to find a way to let characters be selected and sent to and for specific spots and resources. Continuously gathering food and gas to max while I’m waiting and waiting for them to pick up the hundreds of building materials is becoming numbing.
Speaking of gas….. the exploration feature is almost POINTLESS when the AI characters don’t take the supplies off the truck. I’ve had the same truck filled for 3 days and haven’t done expedition cause they’re so busy collecting reasoirces I don’t want or need at the time.

Fun but full of bugs

Similar to what others have written in their reviews, I really enjoyed playing this game so I spent the $17 to remove all adds and speed up the play. It’s true that at random times survivors will get stuck and you have to force restart the game and lose progress to go back to wherever the game last saved. Could be recent or could lose a lot of work. There is no way to tell, you have to very closely pay attention and as soon as something seems slightly off, restart the game to ensure you don’t lose progress. That I can deal with, even though it’s annoying.

The reason I’m giving 2 stars is because now that I have completed the first and second level, there are NO SURVIVORS on the third level to start collecting items. The first time this happened I thought it was fluke so I uninstalled the game, restored purchases, and did the first and second level all over again just to again be stuck with zero survivors for the third level. So $17 and no more game play within 24 hours of starting the game. It’s VERY frustrating.

There is no way to report errors in game. I’m just stuck.

Decent but short and costs too much

I got through all of the content there was to offer without buying anything in ~2 days. There are only two levels so don’t waste your money paying the $5 to remove ads or the $17 to remove ads and get the boosts unless you like playing the same 2 levels over and over again. I didn’t spend anything, but those prices are way too much. I’d spend maybe $5-7 to remove ads and get the boosts, and only after there’s more than 2 levels, $17 is ludicrous.
On the second level, sometimes the little guys will go all the way around the fence the long way to go out of bounds for a singular brick that they couldn’t grab through the fence.
Sometimes they get stuck in place and you have to refresh. If you bothered watching an ad to get an airdrop, say goodbye to your airdrop when you refresh SurvivalCityBuilder .
This game isn’t worth spending money on in its current state. It has quite a few glitches and not enough content.

Was fun but too buggy.

I was enjoying the game, it’s automated, perhaps too much due to the issues I have discovered but still fun. After playing for a bit, I turned it off and when I returned to it later, the characters just completely refuse to collect any more carrots from the farm. You can’t tap on anything to force them to collect. They just hang out by the barrel. This doesn’t make the game unplayable but it will take forever to farm enough carrots to raise skills and what about the next item that it stops collecting? I’m not really looking forward to putting any more time into something that’s just going to become completely unplayable because of a similar bug.

After the above review I kept playing. After 2 upgrades to the farm, they started using it again.

On stage 2 I ran out of supplies and the helicopter sits in the corner never bringing more supplies. I am 1 upgrade from getting the fuel tank too. Very frustrating.

One of the better mobile games

I’ve been playing this off and on, now personally I really enjoy more management idle games, and having a survival theme is a neat twist.
However I do have some issues with the game that I’d like to see fixed.
To start: since this is a more slower paced game, I’d love to see a fast forward or times 3 world speed or something along the lines of that, for example for resource collecting having an option to increase game speed would be amazing.
Continuing, the portrait and landscape feature is great actually, I never really see mobile games that have that feature. However, when doing so; the characters will disappear, the text will warp and frankly the formatting is a little unpleasing to the eye. Further more making the text bigger in landscape mode would be a game changer.
I appreciate the Devs for taking the time to read my feedback.
All that being said, if you’re looking for a game that you can play idly while still having to do resource grinds, this is definitely the game for you could spend hours mindlessly playing or if you’re a multitasker it’s really nice for when you’re watching your favorite show.

Buggy as heck

It’s a fun game, but needs serious work. A cardinal sin for a tablet/phone game is it only save every so often, and you can’t tell when. I’ve lost a half hour o r more of progress by just exiting to answer an email and coming back, more than once.. I paid the fee for no ads at all, just get the stuff, and 90% of things that had ads still do. Lost an airdrop I bought when it lost state. Periodically gets stuck, with people unwilling to do what I asked them to do - like build something. Won’t even show up as a task until I’ve done some actions to make the game notice, or restarted so I can get back into the construction menu. Characters will run half way across the map to get a resource that they are standing next to, and will ignore the ones I need to finish construction until they feel like it. And why do I need 8 people to stand there and make a crowbar?

I think this would be a four star game if they put some time into debugging and play testing

1 star because I can’t give less

Unfortunately this game is unfinished. Filled with glitches and bugs that make progression impossible. I was dumb enough to irk over the money to get rid of adds and was left with this glitchy unfinished game. I got to the end of the first level and was unable to move to the next, despite fully repairing and stocking the truck. I re downloaded the game to reset everything and after playing through the first level again, finally was able to move on. As soon as I began the 2nd level, my character wasn’t anywhere to be seen and when trying to collect resources, nothing would happen because there is no one there to collect it. This is extremely disappointing considering I spent so much time playing through the first level twice and actually spending money on this garbage unfinished bug infested game. I would not reccomend this to anyone. Fix your game. As of right now it absolutely does not belong on SurvivalCityBuilder Store.

Stuck on level 2

I do not write reviews much because i try not too waste my time but i have too say i enjoy this game. I paid the full amount too remove ads and get everything free but it was only under one condition that i would not have an issue with the game after a few days. I had minor issues that would glitch the 2x and military people. I am just disappointed at this new glitch of the truck part disappearing to never return. So at this time i give it a three star and i can not recommend this fame too anyone until i see improvement. I will continue to monitor the game and its updates and will review again at a later date.

Update:i have completed the game and can say it is not worth spending money on. Stick with the ad version. So i can not recommend this game to anyone because of how short it is.

Glitchy :/

The ‘gameplay’ is a little slow and the survivors are very dumb and get stuck sometimes but thats not my actual issue. Early on there was a quest to Build a Workbench except I had already told them to build the workbench when the quest showed up so I just moved on and ignored the little bubble saying to build it. When I finally upgraded the workbench to level 2, it went away and a new bubble now says “Keep looting…” which, I already looted the entire area around the little camp. I cannot move on at all because the only clickable object requires dynamite to remove and nothing gave me dynamite or produces dynamite. Game has become unplayable entirely beyond watching ads or paying for more resources to be given to me. No exploring. No progression. Nothing beyond watch an ad for resources, upgrade the next object needed to upgrade in the list. No other gameplay exists for me now. All while a little bubble is ‘helpfully’ reminding me to Keep Looting…

Fun and easy to play!

I’m rating this game 4 out of five stars because there are quite a few bugs that need fixed like my humans get stuck randomly, they all collect the same resource , along with the resources I think the humans should be able to put resources into the crafting stations instead of taking it to the stacks dropping it off just to pick it right back up! (definitely need to be able to assign jobs or something) I also think if I have 9 beds I should have Nine people, otherwise this game is a lot of fun! Great way to pass the time, the ads that I’ve had are short and to the. Point so even if you don’t buy the no ads this game doesn’t slam you with ads!

Can’t move past level 2

Fun little game, but here is how it could be better:
1. Allow for an idle play, let our characters gather goods while we are not playing.
2. Allow for manual save. Often times when selecting an item for upgrade, the game glitches and you have to force restart, losing progress.
3. On level 2, there is no option for expeditions and gasoline does not populate as a collectible resource. Therefore, I’m stuck on level two.
4. Allow for the player to select what they want their workers to focus on. My workers kept collection stone and microchips, but I needed those 2 explosives! It was daunting having to wait until their stock piled up.
5. When someone pays $17 for no ads, they want no ads. When upgrading my people, I had to watch your ads even after purchasing “remove all ads”. I mean, it goes without being said.
6. It would be cool to experience a “travel map” so you and your population can re-travel to old locations for loot you didn’t collect. Maybe eventually they find a city to truly clean and build up, a survivors city, and they need to make trips back and forth to stock their new stronghold. Just an idea, would be cool to find animals, other survivors, and take down those zombies an special expeditions for extra goodies

Only 2 levels seriously?

I liked the concept of the game early on decided to spend the 17 bucks to support to game company and get rid of adds to be able to click on the faster marches and extra guys. Well the same day I started playing the game I beat it and now can’t even play it anymore. After you beat the second level you get a game over splash screen and it takes you back to the first level with no characters and no way to do anything. Not worth spending money on at all. If they had a few more levels then maybe. When playing make sure you periodically close the game and come back in because it does get buggy. If you give it a shot you will see why. It’s more of an annoyance and the game is still playable, just very short.

Disappointing

This game was a lot of fun, initially. Somehow, the game managed to glitch and I can’t use the truck to continue on to a new level. Which, after reading reviews, is the second and only level. On top of that, my little workers stopped collecting food, for whatever reason, even though there is space for it. There’s no conflict either. I would have though you’d have to fight off zombies to clear areas, but nope. Nary a zombie in sight. The ads are a little ridiculous. There’s no reason to play random ads throughout the game when you have the ability to watch ads for extra stuff. All in all, this feels like a beta version rather than a fully realized game. I’d love to come back to this game, but the developers have a lot of kinks to work out, as well as extending the game beyond the two levels.

Overall a good game

My one problem with this game is frequent glitches. I strongly suggest NOT using the ad boost to invite new people to your camp because if the invited people were assigned to any upgrade task that was not completed before they disappear, the game will hang, forcing you to close it out and re-open it. Since this happened to me while I was upgrading the truck in the second zone, I am now unable to progress any further. And there is no support available that I have seen.

Still, this is not that big a deal to me. The game is still fun. I still recommend it. Totally worth your time. Just remember to NOT invite additional people, and you won’t have these issues.

Not Wirth the Money

Paid full price to play two levels. No more, just two levels in the game. Bugs and glitches that have been identified for months have still not been resolved. Constantly repeating tasks because it does not save your current progress when you leave SurvivalCityBuilder . Example: if you are on section four of level one and exit SurvivalCityBuilder for a few hours, when you come back and open up SurvivalCityBuilder , you are at the end of section two and not section four when you logged off. Works get stuck too often, and this compounds the lack of progress saving.

Needs a lot of work and be transparent with where the game is in its overall development. (I.e, we only have two levels to get it out to the users in order to raising capital to further invest in our product). People do like to invest in smaller app developers.

By

Cool game but…

This game is rather fun, and it doesn’t shove ads down your throat too much. My one big issue is the resolution on the 14 pro. Everything is pushed to the top of the screen and partially covered by small black bar that sits around the camera at the top. Even the settings button is partially cut off by the edge of the screen. I cant see half my supplies total so that’s pretty annoying but otherwise a very fun game. Maybe implement an idle option to harvest stuff that’s been selected while the apps closed. Everyone is incredibly slow even with the speed and looting speed upgraded.

By

Needs More

I went ahead and spent the money for removing ads and the boosts in hopes that the developer will continue to develop this game. I personally believe this game is nice. It does glitch out sometimes causing you to have the close the game and open it back up. Sometimes this can be inconvenient, but bearable. The little quirks with the AI is the same. If there anything I wish to see, it’s the ability for them to collect resources when I close SurvivalCityBuilder . If the developer continues to add levels and maybe even a storyline, I definitely think this game has potential. It’s highly disappointing, however, that the game hasn’t been updated in a year. I’ll save this game and see if it ever gets an update. I’ll assume at this moment that it hasn’t progressed because the developer has some real life issues going on and give them the benefit of the doubt. Until something happens, I’ll leave it at 3 stars.

Glitches

This game was fun until I couldn’t progress anymore due to it glitching so much. The first time I wasn’t too far, but the game wouldn’t register that I completed the workbench and I couldn’t progress. So I had to delete the game, reinstall and start over. The second time I had too many characters that glitched while carrying supplies to the depots and I couldn’t upgrade anything because I didn’t have enough supplies in stock. I was almost done with the truck at this point, and had to delete and reinstall again. Now I am in the second area, I’ve completed everything, but somehow the gas tank on my truck is overfilled, and is still asking me to fill. But since there’s no space I can’t fill it. I’m stuck in this area, and I’m debating on just deleting and being done with this game. Hopefully they make come big updates and fix this. The game is really fun otherwise. The ads get a little out of hand, but it’s part of the game.

Don’t pay to have ads removed!

Please, can someone-anyone, please tell me why am I still being bombarded with ads when I paid their demands for money so that I could play this game in peace? What is the point of paying the money when they don’t keep their end of the agreement?!!!! I’ve really had it with these greedy developers stealing. And yes, it is stealing. This is the very last time I’m paying to remove ads. I play a lot of games, and I gladly pay the fee to remove ads. But very few games actually remove the ads.
I spend a good amount of money on my favorite games, simply because the games are important to me. I’m elderly and in bad health, so these games are all I have to keep me company in my old age. It’s a shame that greedy people have to steal from old ladies. Thanks to this game, Abandoned City, I’m no longer going to pay to remove ads and I’m not going to spend money on any game for resources. They are the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. Thanks greedy developers, you stole a lonely old ladies only enjoyment in life. This must make you all sit at your computers and smile.

Don’t Play :(

I wanted to like this game so much. I downloaded it about a year ago and I could only do so much in the first level before it stopped allowing me to mine for items. Fast forward to yesterday and I see it had a ton of updates, super excited I decided to give it another chance. I was able to get farther this time but there are areas that are blocked off that I can’t access even though all of my requirements are maxed out. I was hoping this game would have made some progress especially since folks keep putting money into it but it seems like the devs don’t care and it’s just a money grab. So glad I didn’t spend anything on it and I’m sorry for the people that did. It’s not worth playing. You can’t do anything after a certain point. The bugs and glitches are insane. Don’t play.
