I definitely prefer this to any other app like it.. even the Markup built in

I don’t remember how I ran across Annotable, but I definitely prefer it to all other similar apps. It’s far superior to the native Apple “markup” feature. I’m having some issues, but I’m going to email support and hopefully they will get it fixed. I’ve tried every app like this that I’m aware of and I would definitely recommend this 100%. There are so many more features than other apps, and with iOS 13, I’m able to access it more easily. I’ve had Annotable for several years, but haven’t used it as much as I’d like because I couldn’t access it directly from my photos. Now I can and I couldn’t be happier!

😍 love at first pixel obscuration 🤓❤️

(UPDATE 2020) Still using this, INDISPENSABLE MUST HAVE!

THIS is Annotable to use for your image annotation needs. Worth paying for every option. I can’t tell you how nicely it’s made informative images stand out so that they do their duty! I’ve used this app for editing images such as bug report screenshots, highlighting maps and directions, even to annotate screenshots of friends text messages to prove a point to them! With a UI layout that is easy to remember, and functions that are VITAL, this is the cake right here!

Thank you Awesome Developer for taking the time to reply to my review. I hope See you on the TestFlight flipside 😉

**UPDATED REVIEW: PERFECT!!

LOVE Annotable! I screencap things constantly, and it’s my main way of taking any kind of notes, and Annotable has the perfect feature set. The paid version is completely worth the spend, selection of tools for markup and redaction is awesome! **Updating review after great response and engagement from developer regarding the one issue I’d been having with Annotable crashing, now seems fixed after last update. Developer support and follow up now have me 100 percent loyal to this app!

Fantastic app that need another feature

It would be useful if Annotable had an option to draw solid boxes with a color of your choosing. The reason is to cover up parts of an image/screenshot so there is a clear, open space to place text. Most of the time when annotating over top of a screenshot there are several areas that need to be covered up. A solid box option would serve this purpose.

😍 Best image annotation app 🎉

I’ve got lots of apps let me add text to images, but this is the only one that lets me add adjustable arrows. I’m especially pleased with the curved ones.

App Pros:

- Adjustable straight and curved arrows
- Zoom loop, spotlight, and blur are outstanding
- The saved image is high quality
- Annotation colors are bright, making annotations easy to see
- Emojis can be added via text box
- Fonts can be added via download

Cons: (I would pay for these! 😬)

- No duplicate or copy-paste of arrows
- No way to do a curved font
- No choice of border color for objects (white only for most things, which doesn't work well with some images)
- No photo editing functions other than crop - you must go to other apps for these things (e.g., rotate, straighten, flip)
- Cannot add an image on top of your photo (e.g., PIP or transparent-background PNG)

This app is basically flawless. 💯

Annotable is pretty flawless. Like, it does what it says that it does—and it does it really well.

As icing on the cake, I’m especially pleased to report that while Annotable does have in-app purchases, they’re just one-time purchases. So once you buy the upgrades—if you choose to—you’re good to go. (It’s not like you’re getting roped into any $X/month nonsense like so many other apps seem to do these days.)

I can’t recommend Annotable highly enough.

PS If I could make one small request to the developer: Might it be possible to add a mini toolbar or something to the add-text flow to let users switch between left-aligned text versus centered text? With that one addition, I think Annotable might be truly perfect.

Best in it's class.

I've used literally every option for a markup all that has exited on Annotable Store since the very beginning and these devs have nailed exactly what I (and likely you) need. The perfect balance of simple flow but also the ability to refine placement of elements on a photo or screenshot. Highly recommended and maybe throw them an IAP to support future improvements, even though it's fully featured as a free app.

My most favorite annotation tool

This is hands-down, the best annotation tool for iOS. The *only* feature I want yet is text alignment. I keep finding myself wanting to center the text. I hope the developer adds it someday. I encourage my clients to install this, pay for the features, and then I teach them how to use it. It’s so much easier to document things from their device when this app is installed! Please keep up the great work!!

Really the best for pointing marking up photos.

I find this so useful in marking up photos. I have it often to show dimensions for projects around the house. Especially useful is text with solid background. This shows up well on busy or bright photos. Great user interface. Lots of text, arrow and shape options. You can also undo annotations even after they are saved.
Launch from photo editing too.

Absolutely the Best!

Don’t bother looking for another iPad annotation app. You won’t find one that is as easy to use and as comprehensive as this one. I’ve looked and tried a few (Pinpoint, Stich) they all pale in comparison to this. I’ve easily spent a hundred dollars on various Apple apps that weren’t worth a crap. But this one is free. Get it and enjoy. If necessary unlock the advanced pay features. I don’t really need them but if I do, they’re there. Kudos to the developer!

Helps me make flashcards

I know this is weird but I like to make flashcards on the go with things I find online. I just take a couple screenshots and cover up the answer on one of them 1 2 3 I have the front and back of a flashcard.

My flashcard apps don’t have the option to do this kind of thing called cloze deletion so this is nice. Look it up, super useful if you’re a university student or lifelong learner!

Edit after save

Good app as long as you annotate correctly the first time. After saving I have found no way to reopen the project and change anything after saving it. You are able to add to but not edit anything saved previously.

Yes Thank You. I did find the save feature in the extension and that does allow one to make it editable after saving. Upgraded to 5
Star. Thanks for getting back to me.

The essence of a great app

Annotable should be the model for developers. It provides enough features to be invaluable, but not so many features that you need an eBook to get immediate benefits. It also gives you the option to purchase additional features, without requiring any purchase at all. From the outset with Annotable, I kept thinking "Finally the essential photo annotation tools I've been searching for!"

It does what it was designed to do, and does it well.

No other Annotate app comes close. I've been using it since it came out. Each version gets better & better.
The tools are easy to use and it's also easy to use Annotable . Very intuitive.
I'd pay for the upgrades, I did. It's not expensive but does unlock some great extra features.

Love at first sight

I tried a myriad of image annotation apps before discovering Annotatable and this is by FAR the best of them.

I fell in love with Annotable after my first annotation and purchased all of the paid features shortly after that.
I had previously been using several apps with various tools I like, but Annotatable (w/ premium purchase) has all those & more! It’s the only image markup app I’ve had since and I couldn’t be happier!

AMAZINGLY AWESOME APP!!!

I downloaded Annotable today and after trying it out and trying some of the paid features for free; I went ahead and purchased to unlock the features permanently as I knew that Annotable would be well worth the price for all that it does do. BIG THANKS to the developer for creating an AMAZINGLY AWESOME APP that’s loaded with many wonderful and unique features. I would highly recommend Annotable to those I know...

Lots of great features... Many are free

WOW the more I use it the more impressed I am. Did you know you can use it for capture a webpage into a single image then mark it up? Did you know it can scroll the entire page in it’s mobile browser and capture the whole thing, not just the visible portion? Wow. So much value even in the free version.

The BEST at what it does.

Every time I’ve needed to annotate or mark up a picture I’ve gone back to Annotable, many times redownloading it. There simply is not another app in it’s class, it is extremely high quality and has a staggering amount of depth that I am still discovering.

At the top-text text ‘misbehaving’ on iPad app

9/8/21: in the last week, notice that text- letters & word, disappear in the box. Can be corrected resizing, then return to desired size This is a good general purpose annotation app. I like it
—————————————————————
Just about every annotation and markup function on the list. Use it, bunches. NEEDS: rotate/straighten/flip function. I can then eliminate using IOS Photos. Then, 5 stars.

Great feature set but toolbox needswork.

Great app for annotating screenshots and photos for sharing information with others. Wish there was a way to have a custom toolbar rather than having all tools constantly condense into one icon. Those of us on iPads would appreciate the ability to have everything at our fingertips without having to dumpster dive into an icon constantly for every single tool.
