Cannot keep track of read messages

I’m somewhat disappointed in the this app app because it cannot seem to keep track of how many unread messages I have. It constantly shows an app badge with unread messages. When I mark them all read it continues to show the badge until I completely quite Flowdock and restart it. On top of that Flowdock is very laggy and I regularly get errors that require me to restart Flowdock . More often than not I get a new message push notification on my iPhone but I cannot find that message in Flowdock , quitting and restarting usually sorts it out.

As for Flowdock experience it is very cumbersome finding a contact in the list to message because the list isn’t sorted alphabetically. I’m sure the this app team has a meaningful reason for this and its probably because I am not using this app the way it was intended. So perhaps this may just be an issue because I never remove conversations.

Needs work

I am an all day user of this app as my primary team communications tool and this iOS app just can’t handle the performance. It has improved over the last year but even as of 4.1.1 I am crashing Flowdock multiple times a day just trying to read messages or especially boards. Also delayed messages - so I will receive one on my laptop and see the notification on my phone but Flowdock won’t display the message for several minutes or until I refresh which will often crash Flowdock . Keeping very few flows open which is a trick that helps on the desktop app doesn’t seem to improve these bugs on the iOS app.

Logged Out should mean no notifications

Was excited to find this on mobile so that I could finally reply to my co-workers when I'm away from my desk. Then I started getting notifications from my team members in other time zones while I was still asleep, even though I was logged out on my phone. They later said that they messaged me since they saw I was online anyway, which was definitely not the case. Even when I open Flowdock after I get a push notification, it shows I'm logged out and that I need to log in to reply.

Needs improvement

Please reinstall the notifications back in Flowdock . I like to see all the notifications I get messaged on and while I use Flowdock on my IPhone, it doesn’t give me this option so I always have to go into a certain flow and search for my name which is pretty frustrating.

Another thing is all my direct messages to people are all over the place. I have people in certain order on my desktop for convenience. On my iPhone, the names are all mixed up.

While messaging in the certain flows, if I respond to a notification, it will show up but once I click out of it and go back I can no longer see my response. So if I’m working on a few different notifications, it’s hard to remember what I responded.

Please fix ASAP. I use Flowdock everyday and it’s so difficult to use while on my iPhone.

Thank you and appreciate Flowdock overall!

Crap software

This is very poorly written software. It doesn’t update when clicking through the notifications list. New posts don’t show if Flowdock is already open. I have to hard close Flowdock (open the task manager screen and swipe it off) and then restart it to see the new posts. The software was buggy when I started using it a year ago but it has only gotten worse (especially over the last couple months). The only reason it is still on my phone is because the pop up notifications, when someone tags me directly, still work.

CAAgile central login issue

Even after upgrading to latest version I cannot login with CAAgile central. Ironically app version 4.1.5 was supposed to fix that. How can you fail to login users even with your own auth service ? Whenever I login with CA agile login it takes me to Rally. I some how had to force close app and relaunch it to pick up the auth. I tried this assuming Flowdock as the auth token and relaunching app after navigating me to rally inside app might pick it up. It’s worked and obviously this should not be the way for an app developed by a corporation.

The Buggiest App I Have Ever Used!

Flowdock crashes constantly. Incredibly frustrating to be typing a response and regularly lose everything. I’m not sure why there has been zero effort to fix the crashes and numerous other bugs over the last several years. Company and developers should be ashamed at this steaming pile of garbage. If I had a choice, I’d run, not walk, away from this broken, slow, crashing purveyor of anguish and data loss. Embarrassing this is a *so called* communication tool. FIX THE BUGS!!!!

Terribly buggy app

This is one of the buggiest, most annoying apps that I’ve ever used. It fails at core functionality: notifications, lazy load, actually refreshing flows where active conversation is happening, etc.

Don’t get me wrong, I like this app. The web version is great, desktop version too. The mobile app is just a piece of junk. If I’m at home and get a push notification, I’ve started resorting to unpacking my laptop to respond to messages.

iPhone app is terrible

Flowdock gets confused often and tells me I need to upgrade, which forces me to go to Flowdock store. It also tells me there's errors trying to check for an upgrade.

It also does not clear notifications consistently, and will not update a thread unless you explicitly refresh it.

Basically, it does not feel like a connected collaboration tool. Our team is probably moving to slack soon if things do not improve.

My apologies if your employer makes you use this

I thought the desktop client was rough, but this is a mess. Message flows don’t auto refresh. You need to manually refresh them. Else you get notifications for messages that aren’t there. Read/unread markers are screwy. They have something to tap to add an emoji vote to a message but it doesn’t actually do anything. Does CA even fund a dev team for this? And if so... do they hate their users?

Goodbye and thank you for your service Flowdock

Our company was a longtime supporter of this app and for many years I think it was the best chat option but ever since rally bought them it is clear that the software is abandonware and Flowdock is the worst offender of all. It’s such a shame but this is the way of the world.

We have officially moved to slack, goodbye sweet prince. I will miss your brightly colored threads but I will not miss you buggy broken app.

Poor experience

Feels like a Slack competitor from 3 years ago, oh yeah that’s exactly what it is - a worse-Slack from 3 years ago. Unpolished, strange UI behavior, too much to spell out here with the time I have in my day to be productive. Only use because company forces it currently, although thankfully that may change soon.

Message for the Developers

1. Enable autocorrect on the textfields when users are typing.

2. App crashing a lot of times when you try to search for other flows.

3. Cache conversations, or at least the flow names. I am not a fan of having to load every convo every time I open Flowdock . Add offline functionality! Add some API refresh or something when it comes back on. We have had Reachability for quite some time.

4. Parameterize a dark mode and add an option within settings.

Clunky and slow

It takes 10 seconds to read a text and 5 minutes to get rid of the red notification alert. Incredibly annoying and time wasting. How difficult is it to get the notification system working correctly?

By

Long time user... this app just keeps getting worse

When are you going to fix the iPhone app to where you can search for someone to start a convo with? It’s completely broken and how something so core to a communication app made it into your production environment needs to be addressed.

Logging in and logging out...

I still receive messages after logging out. That’s pretty messed up.

Always has to reconnect

I feel like when I first downloaded Flowdock a few months ago, I never had to reconnect. Now I get the "need to reconnect" message every time I check it. This is a huge pain because I use it to keep in touch with my team, but sometimes it'll turn out that I've been unconnected for 20 mins and didn't know it because I wasn't refreshing every 30 seconds. Argh. Then I'll "reconnect" and it'll show I missed tons of messages. :(

Threads crush Slack!

Tired of the noise In Slack? Real simple threading, and a inbox for notifications make me love this app and dread slack.

Rendering issues in iOS 13

The 4.1.5 release has rendering issues in iOS 13 that make Flowdock difficult to use and sometimes unusable.

Performance is really bad.

It is very laggy when I try to scroll through a chat.
