SitOrSquat comes in extremely handy in those situations where you “need to go” and can’t wait until you arrive at your destination. Brilliant!!!

Great idea for an app but not maintained. Last update was 2 years ago and whenever you try to get directions from a google search in the google app instead of opening google maps it opens SitOrSquat. Not sure why it does that. I suspect other apps that’s supposed to open google maps opens this instead. Not worth it anymore.

a great resource wherever you are, but only if the restrooms have been added.
Would be good if the developers would put the definitions of “sit” and “squat” on the actual app - I had to go back to SitOrSquat store to tell a friend.

I did like SitOrSquat years ago. It worked well to find clean public toilets.

Now, when I click a maps link anywhere on my phone to get directions to a place, SitOrSquat opens instead of my maps app! This recently started after an OS update. I didn’t update SitOrSquat, just the OS.

SitOrSquat is broken. If you have google maps and another app is supposed to open it, SitOrSquat is opened instead!!

When you delete this everything is fine.

Please fix this. Can’t have on phone now.

Nice idea and could be useful. But SitOrSquat is showing gas stations that have not be there in over 10 years. Not worth the memory usage for such an outdated data base. Delete!

Last app update was a year ago, but decided to download it to gauge its current functionality.

Upon start-up, a pop-up window appeared saying "Uh oh! Servers are backed up, please try again." Despite this, you can tap "OK" and move around the map to view toilets (you'll just continue to receive this pop-up as the map refreshes upon zoom/moving out of frame). If the servers were backed up, SitOrSquat wouldn't load (false, it does load) so it seems like no one's testing this?

The biggest fault is it doesn't appear users can report toilets as being "closed" (i.e. at a location that no longer exists). A quick glance around my neighborhood and half of the toilet pins are non-existent. There's also an issue of toilet location being misreported and users not being able to suggest an edit (e.g. toilet pin being located a block away from actual location).

If you go to the side bar and click "About", I assume the user would be shown a custom webpage view; however, all that loads is the message "The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred" (someone needs to look into the 500 Error).

I'm sure SitOrSquat was novel (at the very least, relevant) when it first launched 7 years ago, but today it seems a much better idea would be to go on Yelp to find accurately reported nearby businesses.

If you no longer want to put in the QA and debugging effort, then at least notify the user that SitOrSquat is no longer being maintained.

I find the negative reviews of SitOrSquat just because it implements Facebook postings to be more of an inconvenience than a major issue. You know you can always set SitOrSquat so that posting only go to you, right? [Account settings -> Apps -> this app -> Only Me] Problem solved.

That being said, I find SitOrSquat rather funny, like some college kids wrote it as an April fool's gag. Even so, it's rather brilliant. If you're secure in telling people where you use the restroom (this coming from a guy who writes about restroom experiences on Yelp anyways), and if there are more brave souls out there willing to use SitOrSquat, the database would be more completed than it currently is and the world would be a far safer place.

I can see young families and people who are OCD who would greatly appreciate SitOrSquat. Ever go to a restroom where the stench just made you want to hurl? I have. Ever imagine whether that gas station restroom was safe to go into? Now there's an app for that. Pull out your iPhone and check before you go.

SitOrSquat works great. No errors. The search function feels slow though... especially if you are dancing with your legs crossed.

Accept SitOrSquat legalese, and just don't login in through Facebook. The search function and toilet reviews will still work. But to upload and comment on toilets will require FB login. Likely, SitOrSquat will eventually fail if people don't want to login by FB, and consequently toilets and rating won't be kept up to date. This will give Charmin a bad reputation through the failure. Already, many phantom toilets from closed businesses clog the map... data may be antiquated.

Even though you can opt out of Facebook integration, I can't understand why this feature is in here in the first place. When I have to find a bathroom, the ***LAST*** thing I'm thinking about is Facebook. I also have no interest in posting reviews of bathrooms in my Facebook profile and I can't imagine anybody sending out bathroom reviews to their Facebook friends. That sounds like a strange fetish.

Outside of that, SitOrSquat is OK at finding bathrooms. It doesn't include every single public restroom but it usually finds one that's close by.
