Pretty freakin' genius!!

WallOfMusic had me the first time it loaded up all my library (quite large) instantly and showed every album cover I had with it - I'm very meticulous! Hasn't crashed at all even scrolling pointlessly around or very quickly (4S).

I personally hate the iTunes integration, as seemingly many people do in other comments. It's pretty easy to turn off (press the only button in the corner and scroll down, uncheck iTunes integration) and people who complain about that obviously can't even work an
iPod. WallOfMusic is absolutely fantastic as a stand-alone Music app replacement!! With iTunes on in WallOfMusic , you can find missing pieces of albums and such, however I find it a little cluttered and a random selection. It should be like Genius where it only shows music based off your existing library.

Anyway, this is ABSOLUTELY one of the bestest music apps around! Will update my review with a note on how it performs on my older 2nd gen Touch when I get around to it. On the 4S though, WallOfMusic blazes past most other music apps in speed. It's really nice to have an alternate view of an otherwise very text based and long-list-scrolling music library.

Best of all it's free and I haven't seen an ad (yet?)! Definitely going to recommend WallOfMusic and reaffirm this review with a final 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!! Five exploding stars! Hoorah!

A Masterpiece For Music Lovers - Highly Recommended

This is an app that you can use to find information about an equal mix of music you know and music you know little or nothing about. WallOfMusic is designed with music lovers in mind. The homepage is attractive. The graphics are pleasing. WallOfMusic has characteristics that make it especially appealing. The screen elements are pleasing, especially the search and genres list from the menu options. WallOfMusic has a broad array of great sounds to explore for your music playlists. WallOfMusic ' s content interests me. WallOfMusic provides easy access to an array of music content information. I would highly recommend WallOfMusic to a friend or colleague.

Whoa!!! This is exactly what I'm looking for since the 1st day of the iPad come out.

WallOfMusic is fabulous for those folks has a huge amount of songs (albums artwork) only. No offense, those are rated WallOfMusic for 1 (or 2) star(s). Obviously they don't have too many song in their media library or even has some song but apparently is without the stunning albums artwork, that's why they're just can't appreciate how awesome this great app was (or works). Trust me, I know, if you has more than 10,000 songs in your iTunes library. (or at least have around 3,000 songs is okay too, and require all song must included the stunning albums artwork of course :-)

Great app!

I love this thing! I think there may be some confusion tho with the neg reviewers. This is not a "play every song on iTunes for free" app. It plays clips of music (just like iTunes) so you can check out new music. If you just want to explore YOUR music that you own on your iPod or iPhone TURN OFF THE "mix with store previews". This is a great app and so far the best in its class that I have tried. It's a really cool way to explore your music and if you wish, check out new music via iTunes music clips. It's dead simple to use and offers a lot of ways to pick what you would like to include. The patterns ate cool to when you pare down the selections. Good job dev!

Truly amazing and innovative!

I read a few reviews before using WallOfMusic. And many people said if you're someone with many songs and album artwork in your iPod, then you absolutely have to try WallOfMusic. They were spot on mate! Once you see all your albums at once, with such a smooth viewing scroll, out in front of you at the touch of a finger, you'll have a hard time stopping. Such a wonderful idea, a credit to the developers. If you're a music aficionado like me, then WallOfMusic will leave you in awe. Check it out! : ))

Fantastic App!

The "Wall of Sound" is great! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars!
If you have downloaded music onto your iPad or iPhone, it plays the entire song. Under settings you can choose to have it play previews of new songs as well.

As some reviewers pointed out, previews only play for 15 seconds. I guess they didn't realize you need to purchase and download your songs as you normally would, to have the entire song play! Just remember this... 🎵If you own the song, the entire song will play!🎵

The WALL is like a giant jukebox. It can be set it up for all your music, by genre, or by artist. Quite a few options! What I like is that your screen is filled with a "WALL" of the song/album cover art for each song you have downloaded and chosen in settings, so it is very easy and user friendly to make a song choice by just touching what you want to hear!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic way to discover music!

Awesome presentation and it's a good way to discover new music. I was a little skeptical at first as there are some negative reviews but it works well.

A few minutes after playing with WallOfMusic , something caught my eyes so I stopped - previewed it in WallOfMusic - then jumped right into the iTunes Store to purchase the songs!

If you're a music lover who loves listening to and discovering new artists this is among the best and most fun tools in your arsenal!

Beautiful interface but whats the purpose

No doubt the wall looks beautiful and easy to access but...really whats the purposr of this when you cant hear a full song. It changes after almost every minute which is annoying. If the purpose of this wall is just to show previews of songs and act like a shopping cart then it serves the purpose. But if its meant for entertainment then I'm afraid it fails there. Shifting from one song to another almost every minute is not entertaining at all.
I would give WallOfMusic full stars if they allow full songs to play. Then its like Pandora spread flat on a beautiful carpet!

Better than ITunes own player!

Extraordinary evolution on the "Cover Wall" app, of which I've been a fan since it first came out.. Apple's own iPad music player was always pretty iffy, but got even worse with the iOS 5.0 update... Why couldn't they just provide us with the very same app as on and iPhone or Touch?

This new and FREE app Gives you ready access to your own music and then takes you direct to iTunes to complete other tracks and sample new bands and sounds. Wonderful! 5*****

Neat! But..

First off this is the way the music player should be. Lots of album covers. I like it.

But it needs some basic features to make it more user friendly.

First, it needs a "now playing" button to return to the current song when wishing to exit the search/genre selection screen. I can only select a genre to leave that screen, and then I don't see the media player controls to select songs.

Second, it shouldn't start playing a song when clicking an album. It should just show the songs. I like to browse the songs on the next album to listen to, but don't want to stop my current song while browsing.

Oh, one more. :) Pet peeve. The next-track and previous-track buttons are wrong. They look like fast-forward/rewind buttons. There should be a vertical line at the end to indicate next track. Users will know to hold for fast-forward.

The VERY Best App I've Yet Encountered

My title says it all folks... This "Wall of Sound" app is truly the best that I've come across to date. (Although I haven't been at this very long I must confess so that assertion of mine one must take into account is coming from a rank amatuer...) In any case people, ABSOLUTELY worth your time & effort not to mention the space on whichever iDevice you're utilizing currently.

Terrific

Quick and easy way to view and hear your music. If you don't want the previews from the iTunes store you can turn it off and just have your own music.

Would like a progress bar.
The latest update 1.1 let's me see albums without artwork. They are very old and artwork can't be found. So until I can scan them I like seeing the note symbol. And each is a different tint. I can see the album name by tap and hold on the cover.
Shuffle is great. When the album is over it picks another.

The latest version 1.2.1 still has a few bugs. When I choose an album right after launching WallOfMusic it will get the album to the right of the chosen one. And I can't stop that one from playing. The stop button is just not there. If I choose another album after that, then it works as it should.

Otherwise, I like WallOfMusic so I can see many covers at once.

Hard to find previews if you have lots of music already

This shows all your songs as thumbnails/tiles of album covers in a huge mosaic; you tap a tile to hear the song. In that respect it's kind of a neat way to browse and play your music,

I guess it also mixes in previews of albums from iTunes, but the problem is finding them since they are mixed in with all the songs you already have, with no apparent way to just see the previews.

So, using WallOfMusic for discovery of new music is pretty much impossible if you already have many songs in iTunes, unless you have an excellent memory.

Great but...

It's a pretty good app but there are some things that I'm not crazy about. For one thing, the update costs some money. Another is it only works where you have wi-fi. I'd love it much more if these were changed. All in all though, I think the creators did a pretty good job. You can listen to so many different songs from so many different albums. (Like how you can choose from genres.) Since it's free, I would suggest getting it and choosing for yourself if you like it or not. My opinion is I highly recommend it!!

Awesome app for music fans

Love WallOfMusic! So simple and beautiful, yet gives you a whole new way to enjoy your music and explore new choices. Since I have thousands of songs, it's often challenging to figure out what I want to play. I don't always like to be restricted by the normal limits of my playlists or songs view, etc. With Wall of Sound I can see all my albums and just pick one or a group. Great concept, and I'm so glad the developers didn't clutter it up with unnecessary visual stuff. That makes it a pleasure to use.

Promising first edition

Wall of Sound does possess an engaging interface for your iTunes library as well as iTunes store. However, I don't see the purpose of offering the store previews. I can just launch iTunes on my device or tap the Store icon within Music, conduct my search and listen to targeted previews. Other apps like "Aweditorium," "Groove," and "Groovebug" give you additional links to more content about a given artist. This is a nice interface for Music on iPhone, IMHO. Perhaps if it also tapped into my playlists, I would enjoy it better. But good first start...

Your iPod is automatically on the wall!!! Awesome app

Some don’t realize your iPod music is on the wall. This makes WallOfMusic awesome!

It does have other music but plays previews if you don’t have the song already.

To make it 5 stars:
1. Be able to pick multiple genres at once.
2. After choosing a song, shuffle the wall to get closer to a similar song with the selectable albums. so if I listen to a Rihanna Song, shuffle albums that would be liked if I just listened to rihanna, BUT if I pan up, down, left, or right, make sure its random (and in the selected genres) bc I am wanting different music.
3. play a random similar song once a song completes, it currently loops the same song. this way I can open WallOfMusic , pick a song and it will continue and not need intervention constantly.

Awesome!!

This is a killer app for music fans! Very simple and does the wall of album art very well... doesn't try to pack itself with useless features. I was very pleased that with 1 option you can limit it to just the music in your own library. Very quick & snappy interface... perfect to choose an album when you just don't know what you want to listen to!
