Whiteboarding, brainstorm and receipt godsend

My phone’s photo album is a mess. It takes me forever to find that great mid-fetch photo I took of my dog, because I have to dig through reference photos I took for work - whiteboards, sticky note clusters, travel receipts... they’re all in there and are seriously bumming me out (go away and let me see my dog!!).

I’ve started using this app to store and tag all those photos - and not only is my photo album back to being dog-friendly, but I can quickly and easily tag and identify which whiteboard was from that huge workshop, and which was from that small team brainstorm. You get the idea. Birch has solved a problem I didn’t even know I had!

Finally a visual productivity app

Love it. Using already. Few questions: for someone in a health workplace, how is your data secured? If I have a patient info in a pic am I/are you/we covered?

Part two: any family sharing/calendar reminder functionality planned? Any integrating with smart devices? Excellent app, saw the stormtrooper reddit post, great use of your time. Also, the design symphony is beautifully simple.

Pps: any thoughts on pic stitching? I’ve immediately went to sort my recipes and it works as a multi image note but might be smoother as one long image. I can see how that would cause other problems tho.

Simple solution for organizing visual notes and commentary

My Apple Photos app is cluttered with screen shots, snap shots, visual reminders, receipts, art study, and family photos. Really gets in the way of managing my fine art photos. Apple’s keyword tagging is feeble, and can only be done on Mac—not iOS.
Now I can just index all the documentary stuff with keywords in this app, add explanatory text as needed, and delete the copy in the Photos. Finally a way to preserve ideas & records, while keeping my artwork and family photos at my fingertips on all my devices.

Great organizer

Great app to organize all of your photos. Takes me forever to sift through my photos to find a snapshot of something I wanted to buy or a recipe I wanted to share with a friend. I’m only using Birch for a few days but I already see how it’s going to make my life easier. I did have some problems with Birch at the beginning but my emails where answered and my problems were resolved. Very impressed by the speed at which they answered me.

Rental software

I’m deleting this program. I like the direction this is going and it could be useful but I have no wish to be bound by rental software.

My previous workflow was to share specific pictures with notability pages which worked fine especially with Siri Shortcuts but I like this solution better.

Regardless, I do not rent software. If there’s a purchase option in the future I’ll consider it again. I’ll still give you guys four stars based on other users’ reviews who don’t mind renting and based on my short usage experience.

Loving this app so far!

I am a very visual adhd person and my photos app has definitely been used as a notes app! Birch is great and exactly what I’ve been looking for for ages, thank you!

Only a couple of ideas/suggestions/requests: -a sort of “zoom out” or grid feature, some sort of way to toggle a view that shows more posts at once.
-a widget with a shortcut button to take a photo, and/or a way to link to photo mode with url schemes or the Shortcuts app. I would love to have a button on my homepage that immediately opens to the camera in Birch.

That being said, I’m thrilled with Birch in general. I’ve already started using it for my work notes and home organisation ideas, though I’ve no doubt I’ll use it for much more!

Monthly fee far too high

App is well designed, looks great. I like the idea behind Birch . However, $30 per year or $3 per month is far too much. As this is not a service (think iCloud) it should be a one time fee. I would pay $15-$30 if it was a one time cost. Also the free version lacks basic functionality: the ability to add photos to a note, in my opinion the whole point of Birch , more than 5 or 6 tags (Why?) and the ability to sync notes to iCloud (again Why?). Overall while OneNote is different, it’s free, and does what Birch does, even better in some cases.

Amazing

This seriously helps me with everything from grocery shopping, bills, to traveling. I can hashtag recipes that I want to try, screenshot online orders that I’m waiting for and can keep track of everything easily instead of it getting lost in my 1000+ dog photos. I travel a lot and like to keep records of good restaurants, maps and other stuff. this app will really come in handy on my next trip! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful app, wonderful devs

A simple but beautiful app with one of the best ios 14 widgets ever. You know that stock ios photos app widget? It can't compare to how good this app's widget is. That's reason enough to get it. iOS photos widget is something can't even control or customize. Also the devs are extremely kind and generous. Birch deserves the support. I hope continues to be loved by all!

Perfect for creators who curate photos

This is eliminating one of my biggest headaches. Allowing me to use an app that easily allows me to store my ideas from photos is huge! Especially for someone I was diagnosed ADHD. Only one thing missing… The ability to add images from the browser under the share option. Add this is flawless.

Brilliance in an app!

For the longest time I would snap a photo to remember what inspired me to start something. Fuel a project so I didn’t get derailed or just to date when I started. I’d have to go back and go though the monotony of searching for the picture. this app is exactly what I needed to easily find everything quickly. Big thanks go to the developer!

Love this app!

Birch is a fantastic idea. I hate having my camera roll filled up with stuff I need to keep as a reference. Birch is the perfect place to store and organize your pictures that you use as notes. And it cleans up the photo roll on your phone. Love it!

Loving this so far...and incredible support

Much easier to organize photos I want to refer back to than putting them into folders within the native photos app. Elegantly designed, too. And Birch designer, Daniel Murphy, emails you back himself, and super-quick, when you have a question.

Amazing

Amazing interface, let’s you find photos you want with no effort. Absolutely beautiful design. Made in less than 2 months, no less, and during a very difficult time by one person. Can’t believe this is real.

Really good for visual learners

I’m someone who always just takes photos of stuff for my notes but they always would get lost in my photos and stuff. Apples built in tagging system doesn’t work too well but Birch is solid.

Great photo catalog app

I use this to organize my pottery glazes, it works better than the current pottery glaze apps that are available. Not a fan of subscription apps but it’s clean, attractive and does what I need it to do.

Great visual organization

I take a lot of screen shots of various things to remember and Birch is INCREDIBLY helpful for organizing them so they don’t get lost in the shuffle. It is easy to add a record and easy to relocate it. I would highly recommend Birch!

Love this app

I had a mild scare when I lost a lot of photos after upgrading my phone, but the this app team walked me through some troubleshooting, and now I have them back.

Best app I’ve downloaded in years

Honestly... who needs ANOTHER app. I hate downloading them. But, my photo album is an absolute mess and it’s really important for my job to keep them organized. Thank you this app! You’ll be on my homepage for good!

This is the app I’ve been looking for

I saw Birch mentioned on Reddit, I use it all the time. Pay for the premium version. Very inexpensive and well worth the cost.
