My main reservation is the fact that it messes up the settings on my Mac Mini. I already have two regular monitors, and wanted a third so that my work email can always be visible. But when I run GoodDualDisplayLite and plug in my iPad, it flips monitors 1 and 2, so I have to change the settings every time I start the DesktopSTreamer program, which is needed for GoodDualDisplayLite to work. Other than that I have no serious complaints, but definitely not 5 stars for that reason.

I would give GoodDualDisplayLite a zero star if I could. It's NOT free. Not only that but it has a built in time limit of use. You will be required to unplug your cable and re-plug again to restart the timer. You will be required to do this throughout the time of use. This annoying requirement is an attempt to force you to purchase the premium version (This is a DCK move from the developers). Also, GoodDualDisplayLite doesn't extend your monitor it only mirrors it. Big difference between mirroring and extending monitors. Anyway, I don't think GoodDualDisplayLite qualifies to be an Apple App. That's just my opinion.

GoodDualDisplayLite is a good alternative to all of the other ten dollar apps out their but when it asks you if you want to upgrade its defiantly worth the dollar because on the free version their is always an add on the bottom of the screen( that takes a lot of room). Also on the free version it made you unplug your device after five minutes and replug it in

It looks free, but only for the 1st 5 minute session. After that it requires an upgrade. It was VERY slow, and took a bit to get installed & going, so my 5 min trial session was like 1 min after getting the software installed and restarted. Also - if you already have a 2nd monitor, and you're wanting to use your iPad as a 3rd/4th, etc. Once you hook it up, it kinda goes funky on the connection. I had to go into system pref. 3 times & unselect mirror, it wanted to mirror regardless. Then it kept changing the resolution on my desktop 2nd monitor. Long run - it's function, but not the best option. Will keep looking for a seamless option.

Of course, that's what the name says, Dual Display. I was hoping that this would let me use my iPad as an additional monitor— meaning additional screen space for application palettes, etc. As a mirror display, it works fine, but this is not what I needed.

It has ads... This is somewhat expected, but when they only give you the option of having the ad block your content or turning the phone vertical and losing half your screen real estate, it gets a little annoying.

The idea behind GoodDualDisplayLite is awesome but unfortunately it needs work. When in means "no lag" It means with the connection. Running this on a i7 8gb ddr3, Intel HD graphics 5000 it slowed down my computer to a slide show. Mirroring doesn't work.

Pros: Pretty good app since its free! does the trick.
Cons: advertisement on the bottom is taking a lot of space. not very seamless because of lag. timed interruptions on free version gets annoying sometimes!

I tried to port forward, allow it to pass through my firewall on windows and it didn't seem to work. It also didn't mention windows in GoodDualDisplayLite but it did have an app for pc. Please fix.

It works good with the usb but it would be better without the usb and with a better extended view.
