THE KING OF FIGHTERS-i- Reviews

This was a surprisingly excellent iteration of King of Fighters. The button layout is customizable, so after a little bit of fiddling I was able to find a position to make Drive Cancels flow like water. The animation is fantastic and game looks gorgeous (particularly the character sprites and the Super Moves). The fighting mechanics are smooth, fast, responsive KOF standard and they work well on the pared down controls (i.e. a touchpad joystick and 5 buttons -1 punch, 1 kick, 1 "Special" (for EX moves or easy specials), 1 evade, and 1 to turn on Hyper Drive).

There are also more than enough modes and extras Training (inc. move lists and combo training), 1vs1, Arcade 3vs3. There's a gallery mode with unlockable artwork and "card-collecting" system using in-game points for even more bells and whistles. There's also Bluetooth VS for playing against other people (no WiFi, unfortunately), but KOFi is perfect for short bursts of single player Arcade when you have a few minutes.

Overall very worth it.

I have never played kof before this game and I can safely say that I love it. I'm honestly glad they came out with a new version so they would lower the price of this one (as $7 is to much). I love the graphics, sound, and controls. You have a variety of game modes to keep you entertained and trading cards to collect. One last thing for those rating this game low because they came out with a new one. It's a fighting game franchise. This is to pretty much be expected. Anyways all in all, great game.

What a great game for $.99. I haven't completely figured out the controls yet, but really fun. I also bought Street Fighter vs Tekken for the same price. For some reason I think the moves are easier to pick up on Street Fighter. Cool to have this game right there on my iPhone. I got this instead of 2012 version just because it took up less space. I'm running 5.? on a iPhone 4. I hope the update to newer phones and os's Get this game.

I'm very disappointed with the developers. they promised they were going to add more characters to the roster. i was hoping i wouldn't have to pay for more characters, wifi mode, etc. now they developed a whole new app with almost full roster of the xbox/ps3 version. also i think neogeo characters charges you to download them. i think they should be free to those who bought kof-i. i hope you guys add more colors and all of the bosses in kof-i 2012. sooner or later THEKINGOFFIGHTERSi will be forgotten if the developers haven't done the same thing they did with kof XII for xbox/ps3. :(

I'm one of the lucky folks who got this on sale, so even if I had something to whine about, I wouldn't. The graphics in this game are simply gorgeous, the controls are fairly easy, and the smack talk the characters exchange is entertaining, esepcially when fighting against yourself. Sometimes getting the special moves down is tricky but all in all this game is amazing.

At 99 cents I thought id give it a try, wow easily worth more than any kof handheld ever. Amazing how much is crammed in here. Not too big on iPhone games but loved this. Now I just hope they make a port of kof 99 and I'm all set. This is such a beautiful game and I didn't know the iPhone could pull this so easily and fluidly. the controls are good also, job well done!

Wow people were really hysterical about that screw up. K' icon is better than Iori but the original Kyo one still the best.

This is one of my favorite iphone games. Stunning animation, robust options/modes on par with a console fighting game, very good music. The CPU AI stinks even on very hard but that's true on regular KOF 13 I guess it can't be helped.

Great fighter and controls are done well for touch screen , anybody looking for a great iOS fighter , this is up there with street fighter 4 volt and soul calibur....... but until the bug that took away the new characters is fixed I gotta give it one star , will be changed to 5 when this is taken care of.

It's amazing I love it and it kinda needs a story mode but watev this game is good to fight other ppl and the only complaint I got is that I want them to add Iori with his flames, like something you buy, I just want him around IDC about anything else just put him in the iPhone version plz >.<

This is the first KOF game I have ever played and very nice for a mobile game. Took some getting used to but my only problem is Ash Crimson in the 1v1 and 3v3 modes. Specifically the 3v3 mode, I've only beaten him a couple of times and that's with characters that I've practiced with alot (only 4 to 5). So can his difficulty be turned down a little?

Unfortunately snk didn't give a crap and instead of updating this game to make it it's full potential, they released a better version(2012). Thanks for making me spend money on a game that will shortly be forgotten and trying to get me to spend more money on a slightly improved version. I don't understand why you have to screw over the people who make you successful in the first place. You bring much shame to this world snk... Much shame. If I could give negative stars, I would

I've been playing The King Of Fighters for about 5 years now

Everything in the game reached my expectations so far but the game Needs Iori Yagami with the power of flames!
I would always use him just so at the very end of winning his fight he would hold his head and just laugh at the pathetic fighter he just defeated.

It's pointless to have him there without his fire, make it a DLC I'll buy it without a second though!

And another thing is why did you make Ash Crimson do over powered as a boss? it's impossible to beat with 3x more health and his power gauge loads quicker? That's sincere bull shet !!
I play the game in very hard mode cause of the experience but no team can defeat such an over powered "boss" like that. plus ash his one of the worst characters all he does is spam his flame over and Over knocking at least 1/4 health every hit.

FIX THIS

I've seen other people play the older ones in the arcades but I thought it wasn't as good as SF. I tried this version and the controls were great, they were fluid and responsive and the graphics were wonderful too!!! Buy this while its on sale!! 👍👍👍👍

I've always been a fan of KOF games and have most of them for playstation to dreamcast. This game doesn't disappoint. The only problem, as other reviews say, is that it is missing many characters. It would be a five star easily with more characters.

This game is amazing!!!! But for all of u complaing about the kof i 2012 release... Calm down. Snk actually sort of did us a favor. Kof i 2012 has all the original characters from the game itself. It has endings and everything. My opinion is it was totally worth 7 bucks
