Great but not perfect

I really do love iRewardChart. This is the kind of thing I was looking for. We usually use paper charts for our children, however it was becoming a nuisance to print them out every week, and remember plus or minus points while we were away from the house. iRewardChart enables us to use a point system on the go with the convenience of the phone. I also like the fact that we can sync the account between mommy and daddy. However the one bug I found is that when I tried to sync my account iRewardChart crashed and I lost all my data because I had to reset it. Resetting it was pretty smooth. But now I'm worried about syncing. The other thing that is a little annoying about iRewardChart is that the general user interface is not exactly intuitive like it should be. Otherwise as far as functionality, this tool is perfect for our kids.

Ripoff / deceitful pricing for family but marginally useful

First, you have to buy the premium version for this to be useful. Not a big deal as I don't mind paying for valuable apps (I have upgraded many apps for as much as $20). However, this developer wants to squeeze as much as possible by making you think the upgrade fee is just 3.99. However, it is 3.99 per device even if you have Family Sharing. So, I can't share iRewardChart between my iPad and phone without paying for the upgrade again. Reached out to customer service multiple times and they basically said "Tough Luck". Don't buy it if you consistently use multiple devices as a family. If you only use one device as a family, you are probably fine. As for iRewardChart , I would say 50-60% is intuitive and the remainder just takes some clicking around to figure out how to customize. Customer service response time is fine, but pretty easy when you just have to respond with "too bad" all day. Perfect business model for AI canned responses I guess.

Promising - Needs Improving

I just tried iRewardChart with my grandson. So far it's great, I like the customization of tasks and rewards. Would like to be able to create categories and have the ability to add negative points. A reward system should include both not just one. Also I accidently added points and found like I've read in other review impossible to remove. So I had to redeem the points I accidentally gave by creating one speciffically designed to remove those points. By doing so however, it did not remove them from the "Points Earned" it only reflected in the "Current Balance" If the ability to award negative points and remove accidentlly awarded points and have them reflect int eh "Points Earned" iRewardChart would recieve five stars from me

Overall worth it

It’s pretty good if you pay for the upgraded version. If you add another person on to help with it (an adult to moderate not another child to keep track of) then they must purchase the upgrade too or your account will go back to the simplistic version. Meaning you can only pick about 4 tasks/chores unless they too upgrade and then you both will be able to use all the features.

When you update it, change the chores around mostly, it doesn’t show up right away. It took a couple days for mine to sync up and match what I had inputted.

Otherwise it’s a lovely way to keep track and I even use it for myself to more easily visualize what I’ve accomplished and what I have left to do.

Nice App

I don't know why people are saying you can't remove stars or give negative points. If you accidentally put a star, just hold it and it will disappear. Likewise, if you hold a blank star it will turn red and carry a negative value. It might be possible I have an older version...but I don't know why they would remove a feature like that. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I purchased iRewardChart originally quite a while ago. For some reason it doesn't register that I paid for it in my iTunes account, so every time I get a new device I have to contact customer support to reinstate my full version purchase! Other than that, I have had no problems!

App issues but has potential

UPDATE- AFTER UNLINKING MY FACEBOOK ACCOUNT iRewardChart WORKED; ***HOWEVER*** AFTER UPDATING TO iOS 11.1 iRewardChart NO LONGER EVEN OPENS 😣

After setting up kids in irewards, I synced to my account with my Facebook. Since doing so, iRewardChart will not open. I deleted iRewardChart and reinstalled, which deleted everything I had set up. Basically, if you don't feel like doing a bunch of work for nothing don't hit the select to sync with Facebook option!!! Developers finally wrote me back and told me error would be fixed with next update -who knows when that will be! If you're thinking about purchasing iRewardChart you should make sure they have released a new update. The last update was May 2017 which is the version I’m having problems with. So if it has not been updated then don't bother wasting your money! Hopefully they resolve this issue soon, because it has the potential to be very useful!

Upgrade To Premium (Beware)

iRewardChart is super helpful. The $3.99 premium price isn’t too bad for what iRewardChart can do. Customize behaviors, points, rewards, etc. However, this would’ve been 5 Stars if the developer was not trying to make me pay $3.99 for every device I use that’s signed into my Apple ID. I understand why, but I can’t bring myself to upgrade to premium on my wife’s phone and both our iPads when they’re all signed into the same account.

Only reward system that has ever worked!

iRewardChart is highly customizable. My kids are motivated because they helped come up with their own rewards. I love that you can build in lots of opportunities to do well and earn points and keep it all positive vs my former habit of taking away privileges from my kids for bad behavior. My older one is also starting to think about how she can budget for bigger long term rewards vs just instant gratification. I was able to install on Dad's phone and sync them so we can be consistent.

Absolutely love this app!

Part of our evening routine is going through our star charts and awarding stars for positive behavior. Generally, I thought it would be best for our seven-year-old. As it turns out, or 14 & 13-year-olds enjoy doing "star charts "as much is the seven-year-old. They all enjoy the Audible feedback. We've been using iRewardChart for years now, and it occupies the first screen on my phone. Absolutely love it, and will continue to love it for years to come.

Just what I need

iRewardChart is great. I can add as many children as I need. I can choose whatever skills I am working on-some are already in a list but you can add your own, like saying “Yes Ma’am” if that’s what you need. You can do the same with rewards and set an amount like 10 stars gets you a new toy or whatever. Then you can pay it out when you want and it takes away that amount of stars from the savings. Works great! I love it.

Not a fan.

I have a 7 year old and a 4 year old and iRewardChart is NOT good for them. The kids earn a certain number of points for each assigned task then the rewards equal a certain number of points. To keep my little ones engaged I do the points on a weekly basis and do not let them carry over but iRewardChart does not allow an easy way to clear out the balance. Also if you accidentally tap a task there is no way to undo it, so now you're kid has extra stars that they didn't earn. I contacted them on this and never heard back. I don't find that it's user friendly at all.

Good app and very customizable but location of things not intuitive at all

Great app. You really have to work to figure out how to find things like editing tasks or editing point values initially. I have been using it for 3 days and I still often find myself forgetting g how to go edit a reward or task but over time I will get it and then it will be easier because I will be used to it.

Good chore tracking app

iRewardChart is simple to start using and good for tracking chores and very customizable. It will allow merits and demerits. The reward scale is up to you, no bells and whistles there. User interface is not intuitive beyond basic reward allocation.
The original version hasn't been improved upon except for storing and recovering accounts.
If you want the real custom features and more than on child added to the list you must pay.
Customer service in my experience is terrible or nonexistent.

If bugs fixed, a good app

1. Sunday, Nov. 1 is followed by Monday, Nov. 1. All future dates are incorrect.
2. The stars disappear and shift after leaving the previous week screen. Eg. Saturday stars seemed to move to Friday. Clicking on stars again would add stars to invisible stars, so trying to make the days look correct are just adding extra stars to the weeks count... then will just move or disappear anyway. deleting to zero would not correct it permanently.

Devs, good luck, it seems like a nice app otherwise.

Very to easy to use

You can keep up with your kids do and you can have multiple children on iRewardChart it is very convenient you can set your own achievements for them and they can pick them it's very good for being a rewards chart and I'm seeing the progress and the negativity what they need to work on

Positive Response

So I have three children from the ages of 10, 8, & 4 and the responded very positively to iRewardChart. It's great because it's instant gratification and also it's on my phone which is easy access. My oldest has autism and he really responded well to the task & rewards. So I would recommend this and make it interactive by having family discussions about task suggestions & reward suggestions. Great 👍 App!!!

Can use children mode

Will like it more if I was able to share app with kids so they can have app on their tablets and were able see their points but not able to add stars. Both my children have phones and i would’ve liked it if they were able to have app only to see their points to keep them motivated.

Great idea

I love the idea but it would be much better if kids could view their star charts from their own devices without being able to alter anything.

Also, I would like to edit the start day of the week, I like Monday to be the first day.

It would be nice as well to be able to change the name of “points” to stars as I use a seperate “points system”. 4 “stars” equals 1 point, 1 point is 15 minutes of screen time.

Good app

So far, I like iRewardChart . I wish it had option to deduct points in different categories. I’d also like to see it track weekly progress that highlights strengths and weaknesses. Also, it would great to link this with my sons iPod so he can track it but can’t do anything on it.
Just a few thoughts.

Unselect rewards is impossible

So when I selected a reward for previous day such as Wednesday, iRewardChart then switch the reward to Tuesday. I tried to in select but the reward key coming back. I messed with iRewardChart for about 20 minutes until I just got tired and gave up. I tried contacting developer, which was a week ago and still have not heard back. You should be able to elect and unselect rewards as you choose. This makes me regret paying for iRewardChart .
