Basics more useful than Duolingo!!

I liked it but I would not recommend. To Learn a new language you need hands on in class activity but it sort of gave me what I needed to start learning

There were incorrect word translation on their free application. They said they would correct it "on the next round". I was told the "Pay" application has everything correct, It was a good if there were no mistakes. If you don't speak the language, how would you know unless you were corrected by someone who did...

The structure of this applicaton is good, but it has two significant problems. First, there are big mistakes in the answers provided by the application, and these are very basic mistakes. For example, the answer given by the application for "can you recommend a good ---?" is "posso consigliarti un buon". As even a first semester student of Italain knows, "posso" means "I can" or "can I", not "can you". The right answer is, of course, puo (or puoi) mi consigliare un buon? I have run into several such basic errors in just 15 minutes of using this application. I think the author does not know much about Italian.
The second problem is that the method uses translation from English into Italian, a core problem with most language instruction in the U.S. Translation is poison for learning to speak a language. They need to use pictures or describe the situation in Italian, similar to high quality language instruction courses such as Berlitz, Rosetta Stone. This application is not worth anything--but it is free.

This is helping me so much in learning Italian. I just started studying the language last month and I was searching for a way of studying that would keep me motivated. I think this is it. It has a variety of methods and is highly interactive. It has progressively harder quizes and games so you start out with the easy ones and finish with the tough write in quiz. It saves the current state so you can exit out of ItalianFREE247LanguageLearning at any time and return later to the exact same position. This makes it very convenient to use your spare minutes through out the day. The scoring system lets you keep track of your progress. It's really a fantastic way to learn !!!

I'm 2nd generation Italian, but because my father was American, I spoke mostly English. The Italian I speak with my family is Southern, and it's mostly slang. So when I had to go to Italy, I thought it best to brush up on real Italian, lest I be ridiculed for my horrendous speech! ItalianFREE247LanguageLearning was perfect, as the learning voice - I can tell you - is authentically Italian. The spelling game was a little difficult to figure out as there are no instructions, but once I got it it was all downhill. Also, I can't tell you how much better it is to have an app instead of a translation book - you look like an idiot walking around with one!

It is pretty good... not the best I've heard and some things are redundant and if you are a fast learner it goes kind of slow. I haven't gone through it all, but a clarification:

Ho freddo - to be cold in the voice of first person singular. (it comes from the verb 'avere' which means to have) and it is an expression.
Another example is Ho fame- to be hungry in the voice of first person singular.
Translates to: I am cold, I am hungry.

Fare- is an irregular verb which means: to do, to make.
It derives from Latin: facio, facere, feci, factus and it is similar to other Romance Languages.
Fare is used quite a lot with many idiomatic expressions like:
fare freddo- to be cold (weather)
Translates: the weather feels/is cold.

I am italian, I don't see so many problems with this application as other reviews have mentioned. For example, in italian you can say either "ho freddo" or "fa freddo". The meaning is just different. Ho freddo means I am feeling cold, whereas fa freddo means it's cold. So, those reviews are at least unfair. It's just a free tutor of italian. The only thing I would say against this free edition is that the vocabulary is not much, and there are just a few basic phrases. You would need much more to get through in Italy.

This is a great app, hard to believe it's free. Use of clear, native speaker is exemplary. Variety of exercises to increase familiarity is brilliant. I've bought other apps and podcasts, as well as external aids, to learn Italian -- this is by far amongst the best tools. I'd pay for further and more robust development -- please update with more words and phrases!

Easy to learn, and user friendly. Only things I want is the option to choose the type of voice that says the words, as it would help you pronuonce them better. (If ur a girl, it would probably be better hearing the words spoken by a girl with a soft voice, and vice versa for boys.) Also, more words plz.

I highly recommend ItalianFREE247LanguageLearning to whoever wants to learn basic italian words and phrases the easy way..I am takin college level Italian now and ItalianFREE247LanguageLearning helps so much. It reads out everyword or phrase it is teaching you in a native italian accent so you hear exactly the correct way to pronounce stuff. It is a Great app...I Wish there was one like this to learn chinese or japanese..

It's an app to learn new words and review on your language. I speak fluent Italian and ItalianFREE247LanguageLearning is very well only you are missing the informal way of wirds and more formal ways but you must put the masculine and feminine words together specifieng that it is masc. and fem. Other than that . But if you really want to learn Italian, go take a class or learn a little, then move to Italy for 1 month and come back Italian, lol. Ciao tutti, a domani!!!

It's a fun way to brush up on the Italian language. a few different lists with a few different games for each of them. Keeps score and is constructive in that it allows for incomplete knowledge, but doesn't just let you blind guess your way through either. Especially impressive since it's free.

Language has always come pretty easily to me--I took 5 years of high school French and 4 semesters of college Spanish, but I really wanted to tackle Italian. This is a great FREE app!! I'm not ready to go to Rome after using it for a few hours, but my Italian is definitely improving!!! I recommend!!!

ItalianFREE247LanguageLearning is great ! I have a cousin named Emily & she lived in italy & I learned a little form her & most from ItalianFREE247LanguageLearning & when I go there next summer I'm excited to use their language ! This is great it just needs more words like a category of animals or something =]

I got this just a few weeks ago, and my Italian has gotten stronger already. I already spoke a little because part of my family is from Italy, but I think it is a good app for anyone wishing for their Italian to be better, in any way!

Simple quizzes with audio, photos, multiple choice, and write-in answers. Not a stand-alone source for language learning, but a nice option to add variety. Love the "Speak and Compare" function!

I have tried tens of other programs. This was the only one that helped me start thinking and expressing myself in Italian. Easily, 4+ stars! I am going to purchase their phrase level 102 next.

Very Instructive for beginners, after downloading ItalianFREE247LanguageLearning all my viewpoints have changed, now I dont have any difficulty to memorize the italian grammar and know how to handle this language than before. and its Pronunciation is the same as my Italian professor, Excellent!

Most of these are all wrong wrong wrong!! Go on google and to to the transalate and see how most of these wordS are all wrong! Also could use some more basic words. Otherwise grazie for SOME correct words.
