Pros: - allows filtering by factual ratings - shows trending topics - includes highlights and perspective analysis based on analytics Cons: - clicking on many of the news topics requires you to sign up for the individual news source subscription in order to read - leaving you with only the highlights and perspectives - doesn’t allow to save or favorite any stories, so there’s no way of going back to them in the future unless you search for them - sharing news topics means sending links to other source websites - which again means the recipient needs to sign up for that news source subscription if required Overall, I wish there were more openable features from The Factual that would drive to the highlights and perspectives vs one particular news outlet. I also wonder how/why they highlight a particular news outlet vs others. Would prefer highlights and perspectives from The Factual that aggregates key points and perspectives with links out to the news sources.

I was in high school when I started really getting into the world news and politics. Even now, it’s super hard to know which sources to trust, what the authors’ biases are, or even where to find credible information that is true. The internet gave us so many new ways of finding information about the world, yet it also introduced the dizzying problem of where to start and where to go next. The Factual was one of the only sites I found that had up-to-date source checking, as well as giving me new websites that I hadn’t seen before! Of course, you should still check other websites outside of the ones that the Factual recommends, but a level of caution should always be used with any news site as well. But The Factual makes things so much easier! All the mainstream media news outlets and a little bit of small news sites are shown to you, as well as author credibility and fact checking! The more sources you read from, the more you get to have a wider view of your topic. The Factual makes it that much easier, and if you don’t trust their fact checking, they even have info about how their algorithm works! This is one of the only sites that truly cares about the cultivation of unbiased information in terms of news media. Please give it a try! It is absolutely worth your while if you would like to view the world from all perspectives!

The Factual has been my daily news source since it first came out. During the pandemic and Trump-era I noticed that most news devolved into propaganda or opinion pieces on both sides of the aisle. This was wildly dismaying for me, no matter what your political stance is - news like this hurts everyone. Thankfully the Factual came around to save the day. They present news as it should be - news. They help filter through the garbage op Ed’s and get to what actually matters. They even rate individual sources based on their content and biases. You can easily set whether you lean right, left, or center to get more actual news from your political preference, but their daily digest is where they shine - displaying the truly important news and very nicely done polling. I couldn’t recommend it more highly
