COVID Trace is a contact tracing mobile app developed by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services that uses a technology called the Exposure Notifications System from Apple and Google. Nevada COVID Trace doesn’t require personal information helping protect your privacy. COVIDTraceNevada exchanges anonymous information with other phones in your vicinity and can notify you if you've come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. The DHHS created COVIDTraceNevada so the people of Nevada can make use of the latest technology to keep themselves and their families safe and fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Every day, it checks a list of random codes from people who tell COVIDTraceNevada they tested positive. The Nevada COVID Trace app helps reduce the spread of coronavirus in Nevada helping everyone stay safe. COVIDTraceNevada uses Bluetooth to exchange random codes with nearby phones. With the COVID Trace app, you don’t have to choose between your privacy and the health and safety of your community. No one will know your location, name or address, health information, who you met, or whether you’ve tested positive. If it finds codes that match, COVIDTraceNevada notifies you that you've been exposed and explains what to do next. COVIDTraceNevada was designed to protect and preserve your privacy. The more people that use COVIDTraceNevada , the greater impact it will make. It doesn’t use GPS and can’t share your location or information. By working together and using every tool at our disposal, we can protect our communities and flatten the curve.
