It’s good in that it has all the important buildings and gives directions etc.
There are big issues with ASUCampusMaps as it currently stands.
You cannot search by the buildings three letter acronym. All references to buildings classrooms by ASU faculty etc. are done by the the acronyms. ASUCampusMaps even has the first few letters of the building acronym in its name, but yet those are not searchable.
So Searching for “PSH” returns nothing,
but searching for “Physical Sciences” returns two results. George Bateman physical sciences and Physical sciences center Bateman.
Neither of which are the
Physical Sciences building H wing PSH.
Also as a new student how am I supposed to know PS means physical sciences? My schedule from ASU simply says PSH100 as the room. I get no indication as to where that is at ASU.
Searching for “PSH” on google maps goes right to the building. Makes me wonder then, why did I pay $1.99 for the features of ASUCampusMaps.
My advice, just use google maps.
When I do type in the name and it shows me the map location of the building. When I touch the map, hoping to see the map still zoomed into the building I had just searched. Then it zooms out to the full map and I have to try to find the building again. Super annoying. What’s the point of having the search feature if it doesn’t let you stay on the building after you have found it. Seems like the developer needs to spend more time actually using their app.
So much potential yet such a let down.
