4.7 out of 5

Why I gave a 4 out of 5

2022-05-23

At first it was hard to use but it’s not your fault LazySurfer is still really knew but once u get used to it and it’s really not that hard to use. I honestly love it the forecast sometimes won’t be 100 percent correct but I mean no surf reader is correct. LazySurfer is actually better then surf line cause it’s free even though there’s no wave cam yet it’s still a awesome app. I think people need to give some suggestions I really want a surf cam later on

Better than Surfline

2022-06-24

Unlike Surfline, LazySurfer gives you exact predictions on any place. I love how you can choose the exact location not like Surfline where you only have a select amount. It is great because it also gives you everything you could think of. You could also keep track of your sessions which could be really helpful for some people. Overall love LazySurfer it is just a bit confusing on the layout and I’m still learning how to fully use all the utilities.

More specific than surfline

2022-07-25

Surfline gives you a general idea but a lot of the times the fair or poor or whatever forecast doesn’t reflect the quality of waves at your specific spot. Using LazySurfer I've been able to find days where surfline says poor and i know it will be good. Most people just look at surfline so it was relatively empty but the waves were perfect for what i like. LazySurfer tells you how good the waves are based on past experiences with that specific mix of conditions not based on a generalized local report with some minor spot specific considerations.

Gone are secrets, but that’s ok!

2022-08-26

We’re going to data collect your recipe book.
All the time you’ve put into finding what waves work on what conditions - winds, tides, swell directions, intervals, what buoys are reporting what info- everything you’ve ever kept in a surf journal can be shared online, so that others can collect the information you’ve spent a lifetime collecting.
Time is money and lazy surfer will make sure those privy to your recipie will come out on top! 5 stars!

Personalized & efficient

2022-09-27

Found a kinda-secret spot I love in town that’s not popular (yet). LazySurfer helps me know when it’s working. Way more personalized than other forecast apps. Love the feature where you also log the board you’re riding. Nice work!!!

Better than Surfline & Magicseaweed

2022-10-28

Much more accurate than any other wave prediction apps. Real surfers giving you real reports instead of someone looking at the waves on a camera. You can even upload your board quiver! Love the creators behind LazySurfer as well!

Great App

2022-11-29

I was skeptica at first of how accurate this would be but now that i’ve been using it for the past couple of weeks it seems to be really accurate. Surfline seems overrated compared to Lazy surfer! I will definitely recommend this to all my surf buddies!

Great App for All Skill Levels

2022-12-30

Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced surfer LazySurfer is perfect for tracking sessions and learning the best conditions to surf in. The more sessions you log, the better LazySurfer can recommend when to surf a same or similar
swell next time it hits. Frothin’ for more tasty waves!

Gets the Job done

2023-01-31

I’ve been enjoying LazySurfer so far after learning how to get it to work—not sure how much more accurate the rating predictions will be once i log more sessions but its nice to have another source of data when i run out of the free surfline checks

Great Info!

2023-03-04

I’ve used LazySurfer for some weeks now and I can confidently say that it’s got all the information you will need. It’s pretty accurate and detailed overall. I also really like the Sessions feature which is intuitive and convenient.

Download this app and save your money on others!!

2023-04-02

Yo LazySurfer is so sick. Surfline is hella expensive and super general. Meanwhile, LazySurfer is free and lets you personalize your forecasts so well. It’s super easy to organize and view the days that I should rally the boys, the days I should grab the longboard, and the days I should just stay home. Highly recommend!

Kills the game!

2023-05-04

The development and whole Lazy Surfer team kills it. The fact that LazySurfer is sooo soo much more specific and dialed than Surfline blows me away. It’s nice being able to check forecast and actually have the correct facts be displayed. The team has killed it with their social media game too. I’m glad to see Lazy Surfer blowing up!

Love the personalized approach

2023-06-04

LazySurfer is a lot more detailed, specific, and personal than a lot of the other surf report apps I’ve used. They ask questions to get a good idea of what you’re looking for and seem to have a lot more accurate data. Definitely will only be using this going forward!

It knows when good waves are happening automatically

2023-07-06

LazySurfer is really a game changer in knowing how to predict when the surf is good. You just log a few sessions that you like and then it tells you when similar sessions are coming and there’s a whole week long forecast and it’s amazing. So much better than analyzing Magic seaweed or inaccurate surfline reports!

Such a cool way to track your sessions

2023-08-06

Other apps only give you basic data, based off of what they know about certain spots. As a local, I know that 80% of the time, those other apps are wrong. Having the ability to write my own notes, and LazySurfer saving buoy and tide data, is INCREDIBLE.
Nice work guys! I’ll continue to use LazySurfer.

Love it

2023-09-07

First it was hard to use but then I got it and now it’s my life savior I’m trying to tell my friends to get LazySurfer and they stick with Surfline and they never really know what it’s good so I always end up going alone lol but LazySurfer is amazing bc I also can use it as my little diary with sessions and pick boards from my quiver! Love this keep up the good work;)

Great tool for finding better waves

2023-10-09

Check out LazySurfer. It really helps you track great sessions with good waves. And just as important, those bad days. Once you get some sessions stored, you can go back and see what makes your spot go. Best swell angle, tide, wind direction and also see when those conditions are coming back your way. Make sure you get some good data in LazySurfer to make it most effective.

👍

2023-11-09

Haven’t tested out how accurate the conditions are on LazySurfer yet but I really like how in-depth LazySurfer seems to be so far. The ability to log past sessions and track similar conditions in the future is a game changing addition, now to say if this is accurate or not i can’t yet confirm but so far LazySurfer is my new go to and I will update my review once I log more sessions and determine its accuracy.

Awesome

2023-12-11

LazySurfer is excellent because once you start to log data, you can see when conditions are the way you like them. Surfline is a perpetual disappointment for anything beyond cameras. This is a personal way to get insights into when conditions are good—-based on your own input and data.

It’s a great way to use the data that comes off the buoys and put it all in a place where it is presentable and user friendly.

Hope to be using this one for a long time!!

My new go to

2024-01-11

Nothing is worse than checking Surfline being all exited to surf then getting to the beach and it being flat. I’ve only been using The Lazy surfer for a short time, but so far it holds up pretty well and I haven’t been disappointed. I still check Surfline and magicseaweed occasionally just because I haven’t been on this new app for long and I don’t wanna miss a good set but I would recommend this to anyone looking for good waves.

Doesn’t work

2024-11-17

App won’t let me save a session. Has an error that says try again. Doesn’t matter how many times you try, it won’t save.

Great app

2024-11-17

Stoked to keep track of my sessions with LazySurfer. It really shines when I surf somewhere that was unexpectedly good. I know I can go back when the swell and tide are similar and get it good again. Great job to the team at Lazy Surfer!

Use more than Surfline

2024-11-17

Heard about this on the mid life surfer podcast. Was not disappointed. Have tested a few times now and works like a charm!

Never miss out on a perfect day

Features

Did a swell come through where the waves, wind and tide lined up just right? Want to get a personalized report and forecast with alerts for those conditions? Make sure you remember those conditions by logging a session in Lazy Surfer.

Instead, Lazy Surfer uses real data from buoys to pinpoint the exact conditions that result in good waves at your favorite surf spots.

Not content with fighting the crowd at the same old beach break for every swell, he built Lazy Surfer so that he could tease out good sets of conditions at the more fickle, less popular spots along the coast.

Lazy Surfer doesn't try to forecast nearshore conditions - if you've ever used the popular nearshore forecasting websites like Surfline and Magicseaweed you know that they are often very far off from the true conditions.

With alerts, forecasts and machine-learning powered predictions Lazy Surfer is the tool surfers need in order to score on the days when everyone else thinks it’s flat.

Lazy Surfer began as a tool to help its creator, Nick Peterson, learn the intricacies of his local San Diego surf breaks.

Once you do, Lazy Surfer will alert you the next time those same conditions occur.

We guarantee that you'll find Lazy Surfer to be an invaluable addition to your surf forecasting arsenal.

Lazy Surfer can give each of you a personalized report so that you can tell when and where it's best for you to paddle out.

Like anything worthwhile, Lazy Surfer requires some effort on your part before it pays off.

The more sessions you add the better information Lazy Surfer will give you.

Surfline or MagicSeaweed also don't take your personal taste in waves into account - they give a one-size-fits-all rating to waves.

But you might like bigger, pitchier waves whereas your friends might like mid-sized roll-ier waves.

Try adding at least 5 sessions in different conditions at a single spot.
