The ads say it all

Downloaded TORBrowserPrivateWeb with high hopes of finding inexpensive privacy from Big Data and mass marketing. I had already planned to upgrade for their premium protections. Really! It was only a buck! But two experiences caused me to delete the entire app from my iPhone within 10 minutes. Their download speed took me back to 2002. We’re talking slooooow! And I couldn’t even type out a singe-paragraph message without ten ads hijacking my entire screen!!! Ten ads within about 7 minutes!!! My entire screen was blocked until I deleted the add and then try to find my place in the message again. Finally (and gratefully) TORBrowserPrivateWeb crashed! No message was ever sent. If this developer thinks this kind of experience is going to persuade me to make a purchase their upgrade and then put up with 5mbs download speeds and crashes, they must assume I’m a fool. There are other apps out there with fewer marketing gimmicks and better service to protect my privacy. I highly recommend checking out Sophos XG Firewall and Intercept protections. It’s a lot more than a buck, but that’s were I’m headed. No this is not and endorsement. My experience with TORBrowserPrivateWeb just finally made my decision to go server/endpoint solution. And since I already run a worthy NAS system, why not? This TOR option is seedy at best.

Took 3 minutes to hate it

Too many ads. There's a repetitive ad that advertises a vpn every 30 seconds, completely covering your screen, so you can't watch tv on any sites without it being paused for an ad, which when you close, causes the page and video to reload, which won't happen before the next ad. Plus, why would I want to get an outrageous vpn subscription when I'm using TOR!? That makes no sense. It isn't even an ad in this case, it's just spam because no one would EVER pay for a vpn when they're on TOR.
I've read the other reviews and the developers respond with the same BS every time. "We only use the minimal number of ads to keep TORBrowserPrivateWeb supported" is a lie. If TORBrowserPrivateWeb is struggling to survive so badly, then it needs to have screen blocking ads removed, which is only turning people away from TORBrowserPrivateWeb.
Basic settings are basically not there with how well they're hidden. You'd think that the developers would use all of the empty screen space for placing settings, but no, they don't. The developers should just give up on TORBrowserPrivateWeb like everyone else has, and make a scavenger hunt app. People would actually use that.

In it for the money

First off, I’m doing this to get a free upgrade. Second off, everything looks amazing so far. That’s all folks.

UPDATE: So. Even after upgrading, there were major flaws. First off, the thing is SLOW. I could open a page, only to wait anywhere from thirty minutes to several hours for it to even begin loading. Even the lag from VPN protection doesn’t justify that. Second off, if I touch and hold a link, the only options that appear are ‘Copy’, ‘Open’, and ‘Share’. Where’s ‘Open in new tab’? Where’s ‘Bookmark URL’? By no means would these features be difficult to make and add to TORBrowserPrivateWeb , and yet I still wind up with this garbage interface. Even if it did have it, the first problem would negate any and all value of TORBrowserPrivateWeb . I can’t even use the search engine without encountering the wait time. If they just fixed that issue, it would be a solid 4/5- 5/5 if they fixed the second one. I’m switching to another app for now, but I’m keeping TORBrowserPrivateWeb in hopes of seeing improvement.

Awesome app

I use it at home on my other pc’s and the privacy settings though complicated, are legit as king as you read them and try to understand what you’re setting up. If not than well the default settings are good enough. All the news and stories about invaders of privacy are growing. It’s good that some well aware intelligent folks out there make an effort to keep our “actual” rights what they are supposed to be. I have nothing to hide but it’s still creepy knowing people see and track my activity... even if it is meta data. It’s not right. We all pay for internet and that should never happen. Thank you TOR for making this effort. It’s what we deserve period.

Revised review: Customer service promptly fixed issue

This review is changed from a 1 star to a 5 star. This is based off prompt email response and a fast turn around on correcting a glitch with the upgrade purchase option.

Originally, there was no change in apps performance after purchase. I emailed the company and received a prompt response in less than 24 hours. They provided me with suggestions that may correct it. Unfortunately, they did not work at the time.

They looked into it further and found it wasn’t an isolated incident. I was impressed with their quick turn around to provide an update to correct this.

Better than OrNet

Its almost exactly identical to OrNet which is probably the most popular Tor Browser for iOS, it used to have a different name idk when it switched to OrWeb.
I have been comparing Tor Browser to some other free versions such as OrWeb and noticed the Speed when it comes to connecting to Tor network and webpages is faster than most like it, it makes a Hugh difference for me.
Security wise it is connecting properly through Tor’s Onion Routing while being stable along with no leaks so far. Also the free version has fewer Ads than others.
Will update after buying the Pro version to see how the speed is.

Excellent Tor browser for iOS.

There are a few missing features that would be awesome, but considering how locked down stock iOS is, Tor Browser is a good start & will continue to improve I am certain, particularly as we, almost weekly, discover how much data the big internet, social & search companies are collecting our data, spying on us & exploiting our trust for big money that they in turn use to lobby the legislators to further their agenda of stripping the populous of privacy & to whittle away at our hard won constitutional rights

My privacy browser

Ever since the privacy issues popped up around internet, I had been looking for a browser for my iPhone which does not tracks visited sites, my input ( credit card info ), my location. I tried a couple but they were slow. This Tor Browser is really fast as it says in its description text. I wonder how can I make it my default browser on my iPhone. Developer did a good job keeping it simple, but some important features are still missing. Hope they update with new features soon.

Excellent & secure

TORBrowserPrivateWeb gives me total relief and privacy ! After being invaded by corrupt government for reporting a crime I felt I had no privacy and my every move was attacked this gave me peace of mind to be able to research and stay two steps ahead to prove my innocence !! Everyone should use TORBrowserPrivateWeb and stop allowing big brother to spy on you don’t ever think 🤔 your safe from prying eyes !! Protect yourself because no one else will !! God is my shield and buckler no weapon formed against me shall prosper I am a blood brought child of God

Great Tor Browser for Mobile

Everybody has wanted to browse the dark web on the go, and this is the browser to use. I’ve seen complaints that it’s slow, but I’d counter that with the fact that tor on desktop is also really slow compared to your basic search engine. It’s got a clean, simple look, and doesn’t scream TOR, which is good if you’re in public. The ads can be a bit intrusive through, especially recently.

DO *NOT* GET - CAN’T CLEAR HISTORY!!!!!

Crazily enough, I was actually enjoying TORBrowserPrivateWeb until I realized that, despite appropriately changing my settings to clear all cookies and cache on exit, AND despite both exiting out of all tabs and closing TORBrowserPrivateWeb itself multiple times, the browser was hanging onto my ENTIRE search and site history! All I had to do was type in the first couple letters of any previous search I had done, going ALL the way back, or any url I had visited, and my browser history list would appear...

A quick scan of TORBrowserPrivateWeb’s reviews validated my fear: that TORBrowserPrivateWeb retains your entire browser history and offers you NO apparent way to clear it!!!

What on earth is the point of having a Tor-powered browser - where the actual, entire name of the game is PRIVACY AND ANONYMITY - when you can’t even clear your history?!? Even the weakest, simplest old iOS browsers allow you to do this!!!

I am deleting TORBrowserPrivateWeb IMMEDIATELY, and I demand a refund for upgrading. This is absolutely unacceptable.

What were you guys THINKING?!?!?

Good But Not Excellent!

The gripe I have is ads come up way too much, one ad is a rocket game that I have to force restart TORBrowserPrivateWeb because the rocket game ad flickers and spasms out, an x does not pop up for you to click away the ad, so when force restarting TORBrowserPrivateWeb your stuck having to go back from the beginning and lose where you were before the rocket game ad popped up. That ad needs to be removed and re worked so that it can be clicked away along with all the other adds. Other than that I absolutely love TORBrowserPrivateWeb its definitely perfect for being able to do what I need and be private in it.

So far so good!

I know I’m on the late train! But I’ve recently been learning more and more about TOR & VPN’s so with a lot of unneeded installations and trial and error, I truly believe I have found the Tor that’s right for me. What I have learned a lot of individuals have their own preference based off of others experience. Well I did my own research and here I am. Thank you to the developers who created TORBrowserPrivateWeb I now can put all my knowledge to use and rest easy while doing so!!!

Save yourself from the ad browser

This is without a doubt the worst web browser I have ever used. Every time you start TORBrowserPrivateWeb , you get an ad, when you go to the next page, you get an ad, if you’re on a page for 30 seconds, you get another ad, if your internet is slow, your web page doesn’t finish loading because it’s restarted by another ad. You can’t even realistically try TORBrowserPrivateWeb because all you get to see is, you guessed it ads. If I could give TORBrowserPrivateWeb less than 0 stars, I would in a heartbeat. I would never recommend this to anyone, unless they just wanted to browse ads.

good, but spooking me out ):

now I'm all about these big ol' google company men not having all my history and what not, but I'm a little bit spooked out by the whole idea of going off the grid mostly because I'm unfamiliar with this specific app. That being said I will continue to use TORBrowserPrivateWeb from now on but I would be more comfy if the developer responded to this with a comforting response plus a pat on the head c:
