A new way to monetize your browsing

2024-11-17

Currently my ad blockers and VPN work just fine against ads and I don’t see any need to give these far-teaching web conglomerates any more of my hard earned money. The new normal is all about generating a higher revenue per user and in a sea of monthly recurring subscriptions and it’s no wonder to see a product like this ready to get a piece of the action. Especially in a ripe market where only tiny click-through rate percentages pay the bills. I see what you've done here - market straight to consumer, it’s brilliant but it’s also a long shot. Problem is, I can’t find the value in this supposed golden key browsing experience since it doesn’t include a slew of other places and publications I want to read. It ends up just being a novel idea, mostly for Vox media and it’s partners to make some dough. Not to mention the analytics you’ll harvest for free in addition to the monthly pay from users. This is a product for the same people who pay for Instapaper or Pocket because they don’t realize they can save articles for later in their reading list for free. For the rest of us who know a thing or two about tech, in this case - avoiding ads - it’s completely unnecessary and insulting. Novel idea for a money grab and nothing more!

Worthless app, don’t bother downloading

Blazing Fast. Easy-to-setup.

I’m blown away by how fast this makes my news reading experience. It took me 3 visits to different news sites (inside of a few minutes) to see the value and feel like the I never want a non-this app browsing experience again in my life. To that vision, Godspeed.
