I am a longtime loyal customer of Kitchen Next Door and I work on tech. I love the restaurant and it’s food and have always come with family, friends and for business.
The App though is horrible. It ruins the dining experience. Waiters have now been diminished to food runners and the service experience has plummeted. I get the need to COVID related protocols, but most restaurants have solved this with online menus while maintaining wait staff to take orders. Not sure if Next Door is trying to pinch pennies or just made a bad app decision, but the overall experience has been negatively impacted by this app.

Why do I need to download an app when there’s wait staff walking around? Why do I have to pay and tip before I get my food? Just do a mobile menu like everyone else. This isn’t innovative, it’s solving a problem that didn’t exist lol. We almost got up and left Bc of this
Also, the second we paid for the food/gave a tip, the host never showed up once again to our table. We didn’t get napkins and they never checked in on us. Honestly a terrible way of handling a restaurant experience

First time users have to jump through multiple hoops (download app, pick location, enter table number) then share the phone at the table so every can look at the mini (time consuming!!) then entering order and then have to add email and a password??? No! Then when using Apple Pay demanded phone number (never been ask for before using iPay). Then app crashed. Reboot the app and finally ordered. What a painful experience.
