Not it worth it for free

I’m getting sick and tired of “free” apps that are more designed for the developer’s pocket than foe the user’s benefit. I understand that free apps depend on ads—which I don’t mind at all—but being held hostage for 10 full seconds for some completely irrelevant pop-up trash—every. Other. Recipe—makes it painfully obvious what the VeganMealPlan was designed for: pimping out a moronic game that he can charge whatever to whichever idiot willing to be suckered.

And even if this were a legitimate app, it’s still crap. There aren’t many recipes (comparatively speaking) and many of the ingredients are cut off so you don’t even know what the hell to use!

Seriously. You’d be better off googling the literally millions of vegan recipes online. And let’s stop supporting greedy, incompetent grifters using blatant bait and switch.

Video tutorial are missing, in every recipe

I am very disappointed for paying an annual subscription, only to find that every recipe I have looked up and wanted to cook is absent of the video. I 100% of the time get a message that says something to the effect of “we are uploading or updating content”. Which to me, means they don’t have it ready.

I wish there would have been clear disclaimer, before purchasing that the video feature is not actually ready, but they are working on it.

I will not re-subscribe when my year is up if the company doesn’t produce what they promised or somehow make it right if they can’t produce the platform they promised.

App didn’t work from the beginning

If you get an app and there’s an issue with the very first click, then there are definitely some things to be improved on. I got on VeganMealPlan for the first time & was like, “Wow! They have an option to view VeganMealPlan without signing up and signing in” which was an amazing idea if it were to actually work because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to sign up just yet. I clicked the option or button, “view without signing in” (said something along those lines) and it didn’t take me anywhere. My screen remained on the sign up page which meant that I actually would of had to of signed up and in before viewing a thing, which was pretty deceiving.

App not setup glitched broken help please

Today I woke up and decided I wanted to change my lifestyle and possibly become vegan. I downloaded VeganMealPlan thinking it would be great. When I went to create an account with my email it said error. When I went to login with my Facebook, it says “ App Not Setup: VeganMealPlan is still in development mode, and you don't have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions.”

I then tried logging in with my Apple account and that didn’t work either. When I click access now and skip, it simply glitches and won’t do anything. I guess the world did not want me to be a vegan today, maybe some other day.

Great app, with creative and inspiring recipes!

I would give VeganMealPlan a 5 star review, the only thing that prevented me from doing so is that under the “ingredients” panel, the items get cut off, with no way to drop down or expand the description. It’s weird though, because in the panel that explains how to cook the meal, I can see the full paragraph description. Not sure if this is on my end though. However, I do recommend VeganMealPlan! I really love the shopping list feature! It makes planning these meals way easier and does the organizing for you!

Nice. Could use improvement.

Delicious recipes!
- There are some grammatical errors which confuse me when buying groceries. Please fix that.
- VeganMealPlan only works best on tablets when reading ingredients that are long. Should fix this on the phone app.
-Adding ingredients to shopping list doesn’t add together similar items.
-Also, I would like the option to access all the recipes as soon as I purchase a subscription. I do not want the trial which seems to limit how much I can see. Or...is what I am seeing what I am paying for? Cause if that’s the case, there’s not “thousands” of recipes as you claim.

Is there anyone supporting this app?

Hi there!
It seems that nobody works on VeganMealPlan anymore. 10 recipes max in each section (not as mentioned in the headlines for those sections at all - 400 and more). The first you see when you open VeganMealPlan - Valentine/Christmas recipes. It’s almost over summer, maybe it make sense to hide those blocks till next occasion?
By the way, I dislike using VeganMealPlan at all and want to cancel my subscription (I added it to see the rest of recipes but made no difference- still same 10...) Now here is another quest - try to find out how to cancel this.. GUYS, PLS LET ME KNOW HOW TO CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION?!
Thanks.

Love it but

I am in the USA and the metric system is not what my tools allow for. I could get something to measure in metric but there are also other things in the recipes that are untranslatable- certain ingredients etc. ie rapeseed oil. I eventually figured out to just use canola but it’s harder than need be for us Americans who are dumb but love VeganMealPlan ! Also some of the recipes are in French even tho I am in the English version. The ricotta lemon pancakes! Was hoping to make them but they are not working for VeganMealPlan .

App isn’t very functional

In the ingredients tab, if the ingredient description is too long, there is no way to expand it and see the whole thing. This includes when the ingredient is added to your shopping list. So then you know you need 4-6oz of ... packed in oil. Clearly you should be able to figure it out by reading through the recipe, but that negates the functionality of the store list altogether. I’m highly disappointed. Also the recipes are not purely vegan. They have vegan options. I’m not sure why you would call yourself Vegan Recipes and include things that aren’t vegan.

Typo in App Subscription Details

I haven’t fully used VeganMealPlan yet or subscribed but wanted to call out the typo/contradicting pricing in subscription details that had me a little confused at first. Under Subscription options it says...

Weekly subscription: Unlimited access to thousands of recipes in 7 different languages: $1.99 per MONTH. You will be automatically billed $1.99 through iTunes every 7 DAYS until you cancel your subscription.

Hello

I like VeganMealPlan and all of the food looks good but I wish that there was a lot more food selection for food it feels limited it would be nice to have just almost the same amount choices just like meat eaters have just a thought and in my opinion and I am not saying this in a mean way so please don’t take it as I am being mean and vegans and vegetarians are just limited on choices on food everywhere we go that all I am saying thank u.

Already don't like it...

The pictures look delicious and they sound amazing but I can't get past all the annoying ads. Other meal plan apps have a free version with no ads. I also found the directions hard to follow as it doesn't give the amounts and you have to keep toggling back and forth between the ingredients and the instructions. It is also not very user friendly or visually appealing (other than the food pictures). I could be a great app if:
- no ads
- made it more user friendly and more visually appealing (better font and layout)
- had the amounts in the instructions

Would be great but...

I want to love VeganMealPlan, but it crashes constantly on my phone. I can’t look at a recipe for more than a few seconds before VeganMealPlan closes itself. I subscribed and then cancelled immediately because of how much crashing there was. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, the ingredient list is frustrating because if the name is too long, it cuts off and doesn’t give you a way to show the whole thing.

Too many ads and incomplete plan

Ads, ads, ads, every time you try to navigate. I appreciate that the ads make it free but getting stuck for 5 seconds each time - who has time for that? I was really disappointed that the 22 day meal plan was not only incomplete but didn’t make sense. I also noticed that the same photos are used to fill space and you think you are looking at the same recipe options over and over again. It just needs a little more work.

Great recipes

Terrific recipes and even cocktail ideas! I like the shopping list feature a LOT. I found it a little counterintuitive to favorite things at first. The only reason I’m not giving five stars is because it kept telling me to connect to Facebook and there were quite a few Facebook pop ups. Without the Facebook noise, I’d have given 5 stars.

Looks great!

While I haven’t tried the recipes yet, the photos look quite appetizing and the ingredients are listed in an easy to shop for format. Looking forward to trying a few recipes tonight!

Great recipes but functionality is lacking

Thank you for the wonderful recipes. The ads are a bit much but I don’t mind dealing with them. However, the ingredient list often does not show the whole name and I’m forced to figure it out through the directions and then add it to my personal grocery list as the one given is useless.

Not all vegan

Many recipes under the title of “vegan” are not in fact vegan at all. I excitedly clicked on a meringue recipe as this was my favorite dessert before going vegan only to be completely disappointed to find out it WAS NOT VEGAN at all! Egg whites are not vegan. So to the developer if you don’t know the difference, learn before creating your app.
Many recipes included eggs and milk these are not vegan. One picture I even saw a steak! That’s not even vegetarian. I will be deleting VeganMealPlan immediately. I am so disappointed.

You Can’t entirely read ingredients

If the ingredient listed is to long, you can’t read it, it’s cut off and you only see a portion of it, like “1 cup fresh.... chopped into small...” this makes the shopping list function unusable. The only way to understand what it’s asking for is by reading the directions which makes the ingredients list portion pointless if I have to continuously flip to the instructions to see what it’s asking for.

Ads for sausages???

I love the availability of recipes at my fingertips and there’s so many great ones here! However I was surprised that the very first ad I saw was promoting all sorts of sausages. I was a bit disappointed considering that is the lifestyle I’m just starting to get away from so having it flash in my face was not helpful. Please be conscious of those you partner with and the ads that are promoted. Thanks.
