I also agree with the other reviews. Great product. Great concept, but the app needs a lot of work. Aside from the bugs and the strange music feature (lights sync with sounds through the mic but not while music is being played through the phone?)... The timer only allows the user to turn the light off or on over the course of one hour. I purchased this with the intention of synchronizing my bedroom lamp with my morning alarm. Obviously this won’t be possible if I can only set the timer 60 minutes ahead of time. (I also hoped to be able to be able to control the brightness through the timer as well - but that’s me being extra picky...) As a MN native, I the hope this company can make the changes necessary to be successful, especially with daylight savings time coming up! We could definitely use a little light on those cold, dark, mornings up here in the north💡🌤
Are you really going to keep taking money
Are you really going to keep taking money from people during a pandemic. $10 bucks may not seem like much but it is when your selling thousands of these bulbs that don’t function. It’s Christmas and a huge let down and a pain cause now I have to go return something. It’s wasting my time and money. I’m aggravated that you guys are not being accountable for your product. Is this ethical and fair to the consumer. I’m going to reach out to my BROTHER who’s a new anchor for fox 26. He’s affiliated with a few people who’s passion is confronting issues like this. Buyers Beware. This is straight up a non functional product from the initial app instillation. If there’s spelling error and typos, my apologies. Too annoyed to go back and review again how ticked I am. I’m going to give the app another week to see if someone is interested in solving this 100% of the time issue. Please fix the app. That’s all we want b/c it could be a really cool product. Thank you
nice bulb. But the app needs a little fixing.
So the color wheel, I think it would be better if you could slide your finger across the wheel to change the color because then you could find the perfect color. I think the timer could last longer, also I used the timer and it said the bulb was offline and crashed the app upon opening it. Please fix that. Also if you could add a day night future, so that when it’s day it turns on (it syncs with your alarm app) and when night it turns off, I honestly think that would be very cool! Thanks for reading.
Needs some improvement
I RLLY wanted to give this a 5 star rating, but it needs some work. First things first If your maybe older or can’t put led color changing lights on your ceiling like those crazy famous ones then this is the bulb for you. It has the same colors, and mostly bright(Depending on the color.) some things this app need improvement on is I would like to see a option were you can make the colors change without having to be on the app like a button that says, “Offline change colors” or something like that. another thing is the brightness try and make it brighter. But otherwise, this is a very smart idea!! Keep improving and you’ll get it!! :)
So I got this lamp for my birthday from a friend, and I was really upset when the app didn’t work because I loved the light bulb. I want to note that this was in mid September. The app would crash so often and it was impossible to use. It is now October, a little bit before Halloween, and they finally updated it! The bugs are fixed, and it works really well! The light colors are bright and there are a bunch of options, as well as you can turn the light on and off from your bed, it’s perfect. I definitely recommend buying this now that the app has been fixed.
App some poopy-PLEASE FIX
The bulb is great. I really like it, just like a lot of people would agree. The app though, is horrible. The basic functions are OK, but there is no support for anything that isn’t related to your company. The app can’t connect to an Alexa, Google, or Apple HomePod; when that’s what I mainly wanted to use it for. The people that worked on the bulb did great, but the people that are over here working on the app need a little push in the right direction, as they aren’t really updating the app a lot, even with all the complaints, and they aren’t listening to anybody. If you do somehow listen to me, I’ll give you a few tips: allow connectivity to speech activated home machines (Alexa, HomePod, etc.), allow connectivity of other bulbs, and just listen to everybody else!
Waste of money!
App doesn’t work at all! Won’t even open now. It automatically crashes upon clicking it and so now I have a useless color changing bulb that can no longer change color since I can no longer use the app. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it several times. I’ve restarted my phone. I’ve done everything I can think of and still nothing helps. Perhaps it isn’t compatible with iOS 14 but either way it’s been ten months since last update to the software anyhow. And when it was working the sliders were below average, it never connected to the bulb when I needed it to, and it was slow and would crash then too. Nice bulb but TERRIBLE app. Do better. I wasted my money.
Can you at least pretend to care?
No iOS 14 update, so now I can’t even use the app which is the only reason I bought the lightbulb... but even if you push that aside given that iOS 14 is brand new - the previous app sucked as it was. So many bugs and crashes. Couldn’t use the on/off feature because it’d make the app crash. Changing the color is difficult. Not to mention the fact that this app can’t even accurately detect whether or not the lightbulb is online or not. This app is literally unusable. If you’re gonna have a smart home product, at least PRETEND that you care about how the app works? Very disappointment and waste of money. Hope you guys actually fix this.
Upgraded to a better bulb
I used this app for a good while with the bulb included and although I was fond of it at first. Soon it got real tiring when the lightbulb would not connect to the app and I would have to turn the light off and on again before it could reconnect. But it only got worse, at one point even if I turned the light off and on it would not detect the bulb and I would have to delete it off the app and search for it EVERY SINGLE TIME I tried to use this bulb. God I wish this app was better, then maybe the bulb I bought wouldn’t be in the trash right now.
You get what you pay for
The bulbs are great but the app is pretty rough. For 10$ a bulb it’s definitely not terrible. Music function is a bit hypersensitive on the microphone and also shuts off my music. The sleep timer doesn’t work for me but I’m mostly just using these to be able to adjust to lower light at night. App frequently crashes but it’s minimal hassle for me. I might switch to a different bulb in the future but for now they cover all the functions I need from them. Hopefully the app gets smoothed out soon.
Great concept, horrible delivery
The light is decent if you’re using it for a lap and changing color. I tried to use it in my ceiling fan and even when the light switch was off it would flash. Also, the music part is definitely not well thought out. You can’t go to any other apps and it will only work if you have music playing around you- it will not work with music playing on your phone. Which is what the packaging leads your to believe. Its a great idea, but this company failed at delivery.
Smart for like 2005, but you get what you pay for.
If you want to be able to change the light you’ll just have to turn the switch for the light on and off so that it can recalibrate. Yes, it kinda defeats the purpose of it being a smart bulb, but if you can get over having to turn the switch on and off all the time to recalibrate the light you’ll like it. Once it actually calibrates when you flip the switch on the light it actually dims and goes between colors halfway decently.
I loved this lightbulb and honestly didn’t mind the app. It would crash from time to time but as soon as I turned the light off and on again everything would work smoothly. The app has updated and it’s worse than it was before. Crashing.. I also don’t like that there isn’t a pre setting for primary colors ex. Red is my favorite color light but I can never get it on red in the color wheel always pink🙃 Not to mention they have now got rid of the on/off option for the light and that was my favorite part about the light. Being able to turn it off without getting out of bed.
App lacks basic functions
This app does not have the basic functions I would expect with a smart bulb. - no option to set a schedule for the light to come on and off at certain times of day. Have to use the switch or go to the window near the light to turn on/off. Only a timer option where you can set to turn off in a couple of hours. - no option to set a default color for the light. I hate the default bright blue white color and have to go through a process to change it to a warm white color every time I turn it on. - even with all the colors can’t set it to cycle through multiple colors when desired. Would like to be able to select a few colors and have it change until I stop it. It only changes color when you stand within Bluetooth distance and shake your phone or play music? Thanks but no that’s not what I want to do. Please please update this app with basic functions above!
Disappointing—App Constantly Crashes
I bought the light bulbs on a whim and decided to try one first to see how I like it. Unfortunately, these bulbs are useless for their intended purpose because the app crashes constantly. The bulb I tested is in my daughter’s room. I was hoping to be able to turn her lights off and on from my bed since I’m 8 months pregnant and tired. This is impossible to do. If the app worked, these bulbs would be amazing. The colors are bright and it’s a lot of fun when the app works. But it’s only worked for us once. I’ll be returning the remaining bulbs.
