Live Weather - Weather Radar & Forecast app Reviews

I was apprehensive about downloading LiveWeather but after several months I’m ready to say I like it! Love the messages in the morning and evening about what the local weather will be. And it’s accurate, a challenge on coastal California. I like the ease of checking out weather in other cities. I’d like it better when I put in a city that the state pulls up automatically so I can choose the one I want, but the state doesn’t always show. I also like the 10 day forecast. There’s more to learn with LiveWeather so perhaps I’ll update the review in a few months.

I changed apps when the apple Weather app started loading without current temperature or forecasts. I tried a couple other apps, but this one is simple and solid. Adds are unobtrusive if they are there, and I’ve had no loading problems.

I generally use the hour-to-hour and 5 day forecast. Weather being what it is in PNW, it’s not perfectly accurate. Honestly I’d be freaked out if it was always right! Weather prediction is still an art *and* science profession.

LiveWeather has a lot of good features, but they don’t do me a lot of good because the color scheme makes it hard to read. I’m in my 40’s and only need glasses for reading small print, yet I have to pull them out to read LiveWeather and even then have a hard time with the temperatures in the green bubbles. Also, I don’t like to leave my location on my phone or individual apps for privacy/security, so every time I open LiveWeather it gives me pop ups telling me to add my location. I have already input what city I want weather for so that should be enough. I plan to delete LiveWeather and find another. I really liked google’s weather app, but switched to an iPhone and can’t seem to get it.

Ok let meh tell you one thing I’m only 11 sooooooo I usually don’t care about the weather but when I started to get cloths I picked out on my own I needed to know what days the weather was I looked and looked and couldn’t find a nice one but on this one....wow! I can track the weather up to 9 days! So I can see what I can expect for school and on the weekends but all in all LiveWeather is just amazing I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good weather app byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I really did like everything about LiveWeather. The problem is, every single day it would call for brief rain showers no matter how sunny and beautiful the weather was. Of course, in real life, one out of 10 of those days actually had rain showers. Even when the weather descriptions said sunny and warm, it would still say brief showers around 10 to 11AM which, of course, didn't happen because it was sunny and warm all day. I have no idea what kind of bug that is or where they get their weather predictions from. But, I need something reliable to get my kids dressed in the morning for school, so I am deleting this.

I really like LiveWeather. I find it to be accurate and I like the graphics. There are a couple of things I would like to see changed.
If there is more than one city with the same name in the US, it does not indicate what state each one is in, so I can’t tell which city is the one I need.
Whenever I open LiveWeather , the time and temperature are from the last time I opened it, not the current time/temp. I have to chose another city, then choose my city to get the correct info.
One other thing: “tomorrow” is always spelled incorrectly.

Compared to the standard included yahoo weather app for iOS and several others in LiveWeather store...this free version of app offers the most detail in my opinion. It’s also ad free.

I would give it 5 stars but it lacks a few little things such as...

1. Help/support - according to LiveWeather store screenshots I’m supposed to be able to see the radar view, but can’t find it and a help section may be the solution.

2. For those of us that don’t live and breathe ‘weather’, it’d be nice to have definitions or explanations of terms and how these metrics affect us. For example the ‘feels like’ information is nice but I have no idea how the pressure metric fits in to the details. And what’s a beaufort?

It’s the little details of any app that serve the user well that can take a good app to great. If these little things and similar were added, I would update my rating to 5.

Very similar to the Yahoo weather app but more beautiful fluid simplistic gorgeous radar improve on Yahoo weather in every single way. The forecast are usually the same as AccuWeather’s which is very on point especially with real feel. Very easy to get all these detailed information with an extremely quick look. Layout is beautiful in its simplicity.
This is my go to weather app and I’ve tried them all.

Well for starters it keeps sending me weather warnings for floods and tornados. That would be great if I lived where there were floods and tornados. Now it sending me weather alerts for “North Fair Oaks”. No idea where that is, but it is not here. I only have the city where I live and one other city set up on this, neither of which is getting flash flood’s or tornadoes or is anywhere near a place called North fair Oaks. I wanted to like LiveWeather I wanted to get notifications in the morning of what the weather would be but apparently it has a huge bug, So I am done with this. Only gave it to stars instead of one because I think the idea is great if it worked.

I don't have a radar on my app I guess. I've seen some of the reviews with people talking about the radar. My app has a place at the bottom of the screen and on the left it says forecast and on the bottom right it says free games. Well, There are No games At All! What's up with that? Why would their even a thing saying that about the games AND Where is the radar that everyone is talking about? I clicked on the bottom that says maps at least that's what I think it says but when I click on that a blue screen of nothingness comes up just like when I click on the games! Besides all that LiveWeather is OK.

Ever since weather underground retired their old app, this is the best replacement I have found, good layout easy to read, all the information can be found intuitively except - state.

I travel, when I am preparing to leave I want to know what the weather will be like - when you search for a city will not tell you the state until after you add the city. If you try to search for the city, st it is not found. Seems like a big oversite.

As an example for the developer - I wanted to add Tyler, TX to LiveWeather - 10 cities named Tyler, still haven’t found which one is in TX.

Better than LiveWeather that comes pre-installed on iPhones for sure. Deducted a point when it showed my neighborhood as cloudy when it was perfectly sunny (coastal marine layer had burned off at least an hour before o saw this forecast). Has all the info you would get on the iPhone version but better. As others have pointed out, it does not give you states when you pick cities to add & although some of mine were smaller places I found the 1st on the list to always be the correct one to choose.

I have ben changing using various epweather apps because no one of them could give me satifaction. But LiveWeather is the best ever used. The information are very clear, accurate, useful and easy to use. There is the only one thing I’d like to suggest that if you could develop LiveWeather in editting the location for the users to be able to rearrange the lists of the chosen location without needing to delete, it would be better. Thanks.

Some of the features are nice but it has some serious flaws. I think having to search around for the radar is stupid. What’s also stupid is the default layer on the radar is wind...? But, hands down, the worst thing about LiveWeather is when you want to check weather in another city you have to type in the name, pretty standard, but it gives you a city name and country to pick from- no state. This generates a list to pick from. As you can imagine that is problematic for city names that are common so unless you want to check them one by one you’re forced to find a nearby city with a less common name.

When i type in a town that i want the weather for, like, “ Buffalo New York” it shows up a million Buffalos in the United States but it has no state saying which Buffalo its from. I do like how it knows you’re location and tell you how warm it is where you are but when I am planning a trip I want to know what the weather is going to be like. Also i have no IDEA what the games are for? It doesn’t have ANY games on it. The weather isn’t always right on LiveWeather . But, i like there is no adds and no online purchases.

Great app, I like the sunrise sunset scale, wind, and other details at current location and choose different locations to track. I work 60 minutes away and weather by the lake is often very different, especially in winter. LiveWeather is great. For a few days it wouldn’t track my current location but that seems to have been fixed. 5 star.

Map won't work properly. By default it goes to the wind map and there is no way to change it to temp or other option. Allows an initial set up then goes back to wind setting. Would not provide me a locality unless I allowed full location access all the time even when not using app. No need for that. Why is there not a state input option. There are multiple states with the same city or town name. Deleted and reinstalled to no avail. For a quick snap shot of weather it's good but that's what I have iPhone weather for so what's the point. Probably will end up deleting. Works better on iPad.

Would have given 5 stars but I cannot get the radar map on my iPhone. I like the up to the minute weather in my location but would be nice if the state also showed so you don’t have to go through all of them until you find the correct one. Love to see the wind mill and the sun rise and set graph.
I’ve only been using for a couple months so hopefully you will fix LiveWeather so iPhones can access the radar portion as well as add the other above mentioned. Thanks.

Not sure that I will keep LiveWeather for three reasons: 1) does not give predicted wind speed on their hourly forecast, 2) does not give predicted snow or rain on their hourly forecast, and 3) a location, a city in Colorado, that is listed on all the other weather apps is not included on LiveWeather. Because of the location of this town it is not an accurate forecast to look at a neighboring city.
Would not recommend LiveWeather unless you only care about temperature, plus be sure to check if they have your city as their cities are limited.

I like the daily forecast notifications that pop up on my phone though I believe they are erratic- sometimes I see them in the morning, sometimes later in the afternoon. Not sure if there is a setting for that to make them the same time each morning. One small typo- on the hourly weather it should read 12 PM after the 11 AM spot, not 12 AM. Other than that LiveWeather is beautifully designed and easier to use than the former app I was using.

I haven’t yet found a weather app that combines at least near-accuracy with usefulness, but after trying this one for several months, this isn’t it. Today’s weather is often yesterday’s, claiming to be today )it’s Tuesday now, but it shows Monday as today). The mini summary (such as ‘cloudy with a chance of...’) is cut off after just a few letters, with no way to click on it to actually read it. Its summary descriptions vary unaccountably (-5 is ‘frigid’ sometimes, merely ‘very cold’ others). The hourly forecast for Today is good, and very useful (especially when Today actually IS today), but that feature isn’t available for even one day in the future.
So I guess I’ll keep looking for a weather app...
One more complaint: finding a nickname that hasn’t been chosen already is extraordinarily difficult (I’ve just tried about 20, including in foreign languages!), leaving me to wonder whether the developer really wants reviews...

Two problems but rest is great.
Problems: Every time I open LiveWeather it ask to add my city which is already displayed and the weather map won’t open. Very disappointing because the rest of LiveWeather appears very nice.
The color combination plays a huge role in apps to be able to easily see functions without everything jumbled together. LiveWeather has a very good color combination. Some apps has the 5 day for cast going across the screen so you have to scroll. LiveWeather has the forecast going down the length of the screen so you don’t have to scroll. This is another good point in LiveWeather. Just needs to fix the two problem previously mentioned.
