Fareness - Fly When it's Cheap Reviews

My flight was canceled without my approval and somehow it was my fault. I had made two flights on the same day as I booked my first on the wrong date I emailed customer service and had to wait forever to get a response back. I then finally found a number and talked with a representative she then canceled my flight during the call I thought all was sorted. I book a completely separate flight later in the afternoon, check my emails before going to bed and found out my flight I had just booked had been canceled. I was very confused as to why because i never wanted it canceled. I emailed them back and they said it had overran because I had made a cancellation earlier though I figured they should have that sorted??? I then Talked on the phone with a very rude representative who started yelling at me because I was asking how my flight was canceled without my approval. She started arguing with me and telling me I was the problem that they never canceled without customer approval I told her then how was my flight canceled without my approval? She started being very rude with me. I now have no flight thanks to this app and my money has not been refunded. DO NOT BOOK HERE UNLESS YOU JUST WANT TO BE IN A BUNDLE OF MESS. TERRIBLE I would probably give them a negative 10 stars if possible.

I would’ve given Fareness five stars however I’ve been using Fareness for the last 2 1/2 years and today before I can use Fareness I was told now there is a fee to subscribe to be able to use Fareness all of a sudden and it’s almost $60 USD. Since when and why? It use to be FREE!! Why wasn’t there some type of notice that that would happen they give you seven days for free subscription after that you will be charged??? I’m only going to use it six more days unfortunately this is a sad change.

I saw Fareness on Instagram and figured I would check out the prices they were advertising. After downloading Fareness , I explored a few vacation spots and Fareness forced me to upgrade to the premium version. Fareness was completely useless without a subscription. Note for developers: allow people to book flights despite not having a subscription. They do offer a free trial but, I don’t think Fareness is even worth paying for. It’s ranked 35th in Travel on Fareness Store so there are plenty other apps ready to use without a subscription.

I know that you are able to use Fareness without a subscription however, it seems the primary way that Fareness gets money is from that subscription service. Also read the other reviews before downloading or subscribing to their service.

I've used the website a few times (ok, a lot, just to daydream) and I really appreciate Fareness looking and functioning so much like the website. Have also compared it to other services and even manages to match or better packages put together by Costco, no small feat.

Fareness and company used to offer this product for free (making money from the airlines via kickbacks), however recently they decided to start charging for Fareness . They want you to get locked into a yearly subscription in order to access their “deals”. Other sites offer the same services (albeit with less search options) for free. If I was traveling monthly, this might be worth the cost, however since that’s not most people, you can’t expect that’ll happen. Well, Fareness was good while it last and while it was free. Fareness will be gone in a few short years unless changes are made to the pricing structure.

Rating 1 star as we’d booked a trip through this app and given the recent pandemic, this app proved it would rather make a profit and ignore airline policies about the pandemic. It was impossible trying to locate customer service on Fareness . It only led to a feedback forum. Fareness lags itself - I have no idea where these 8k reviews came from

On top of that, this company is extremely low budget. I called their customer service and it was one single guy who was rude and had very little knowledge of what he was doing. He claimed he had policies in front of him, that were completely made up because they weren’t what the airline was globally communicating but the associate INSISTED he was right.

I called the airline and they said it was quite typical this app doesn’t follow airline policy and they consistently end up having to fix the issues.

Don’t use Fareness . Don’t use the company. You’ll waste your money.

I used to love Fareness. But then the developers got greedy and decided to charge people just to use Fareness . That’s ridiculous. It’s one thing to charge people to get a certain discount when booking, but to charge people who just want to look at the flights? That’s insane. You aren’t even guaranteed to find a flight, so you are essentially paying to use Fareness and nothing more. I used to tell people about how great Fareness was but not anymore and I’m deleting it from my phone. Such a shame they ruined it.

Fareness is a scam. I downloaded it to check on pricing for flights. No where on their app advertisement was there a mention of cost. Once downloaded terms of service was given which hidden within the statements was information on a monthly subscription charge. When I contacted them asking to please unsubscribe me they wrote I had to go through apple apps to get subscription cancelled. There’s no where to do that on my phone, nothing in subscriptions. Now I have to go through my Visa and file a fraud alert. This is so frustrating 😡

The layout of Fareness is useful. It shows you months at a glance with low fares. But ONLY if you live is key places. I live in Panama (Central America) and every search is therefore individual. I never get the “at a glance” option. So if I want to check the day before, i have to enter a whole new search; the next day, whole new search. I have kept Fareness to plan travel for my kids living in the US but now with a fee for Fareness , (59$!!) it’s not useful. I will cancel and stick with Hopper or Skyscanner.

Most people only take two vacations a year, if that. You don’t even have good search features that narrow down all my preferences, before I choose a destination! Knowing a destination that fits all my preferences, would help me make my decision. Instead you have it so that we have to filter thru all these results and then choose based on our preferences, which defeats the purpose of Fareness. And now you wanna charge people for a yearly subscription! Insane!

So I get it. Everyone wants a buck. Fareness was awesome, when it was free but now they are asking us to pay $60 - just to browse "cheap" flights.
Not gonna do that. Here's why...

1. Although the flights are super affordable, they are often with airlines that aren't the best. Spirit, Jet blue, delta, American Airlines, etc. and

2. I've definitely have found cheaper flights using google flights, southwest, or just looking on Expedia or Priceline. So, I'm not going to pay you just to BROWSE - prices that aren't always the cheapest.

But I do understand, you have to earn a living and so I get it. But I just wanted to share, I don't see enough value in it to PAY for Fareness . Maybe if things change - I would. Who knows! Just my two cents.

When traveling I always check multiple websites for the best deals... Unfortunately that takes up a lot of my time. Once I downloaded Fareness not only did it save me time but it truly had the best deals. What a great find!

Booked a flight, had to promptly cancel it via airline. Tried booking again via this app and received a “fail to confirm” message on this app side. Was able to book a confirmed flight on try 3. Had to go through Amex to help stop initial 655$ charge for flight 1. Received rude messages from app developer. Paid 60$ for the this app two months ago and am now blocked from using it. Just a heads of what can go wrong with Fareness before you commit to their bs 60$ usage charge...on top of their other fees when booking.

Wonderful app! I really appreciate having the flights and times available all in one location. As for the complaint of charging a fee. The avg. cost is about $5 a month. That is pretty fair. Please keep up the good work. I use Fareness . All the time.

I have used Fareness to plan every single one of my vacations for the last 3 years. I tried to use it tonight to plan my next trip only to find out that you have to have a monthly subscription just to use it. It really is a shame because this was the perfect way to plan my getaways. But, tonight was the last night I ever use Fareness. It’s a sad day for me knowing that I can’t really use it anymore without having to pay a subscription fee.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Fareness. I recommend it to everyone and it has helped me so much be able to travel more by getting good deals. I love the fare calendar so I can see which days are better for travel financially. Absolutely obsessed and anyone who wants to travel on a budget - get Fareness!!!

Been using Fareness for awhile and now they want a subscription fee?! That’s wild but some companies are just greedy and want to take everything they can from the consumers

I've used Fareness before when I was living in New York but I dont use it all the time because I always find better on other sites. Now that I live in Germany I checked Fareness and they're charging $60/year so we can look at dates and prizes? Yeah, not gonna happen. Since I've been here in Germany I've been to most European countries already without using Fareness. All cheap flights. Fareness is not even good like that I wouldnt even pay $10.

I have used and booked through this app before and was pleased with the service: ease of use, fare research and booking/changing flights.

Now you can’t search without either signing up for a trial and a yearly subscription which is ridiculous. If you want to charge a subscription fee for booking flights through this app, that’s fine, but to search?

Deleted app and lost a customer.

Genius. ! Follow the deals or put in your destination and find the cheapest dates to travel! Visually easy to navigate fares quickly! Try it it's gonna save you a chunk of money for sure!

Earlier this year I booked a great flight deal using this app for my honeymoon. The departure time and date were great, and the price was phenomenal.

I was so looking forward to the trip: 3 weeks in Brazil with my new husband. Unfortunately, life had other plans. Several weeks before my scheduled departure, I shattered my left tibia just below the knee. This rendered me completely incapable of walking and required several rounds of surgery to fix. In short, there was absolutely no way my Brazil trip was happening.

After contacting the airline directly and explaining the circumstances of my cancelation, the airline requested I go through this app since they were the booking agency. I’m glad I did.

After several rounds of explanations and some furnishing of proof of my injury, this app achieved something rare in today’s world of airline customer service: they got me a full refund for not only my ticket, but my husband’s as well! Had I taken the standard approach and merely paid the cancellation fees, I would have lost over $900 US dollars.

Instead, I will receive a refund of nearly $1400 US dollars. Many thanks to the this app customer support team for their persistence in helping resolve my issue. I will definitely continue to use the service and encourage my friends and family to do the same. Five Stars all around!
