Great resource for the park

Worked well. Good maps. Doesn’t have ALL the trails and stops but still a great resource that can be downloaded before hand for offline mode. Make sure it finishes downloading though in the settings.

Would have liked there to be a little more information about each stop but I don’t think it’s meant to be a comprehensive guide. It could be though and I might even pay for it if it was that good and with more photos.

Otherwise a 5-star for convenience and exceeding expectations.

Map is helpful but saving function did not work

I downloaded off line content and tried to map out our route with the saved feature. However, the site continued to shut down on itself and the saved sites never stayed. So the map was useful and the description but the planning feature did not work for us. Also if we tried to keep the tablet on, powered up with the ap open and on the entire time as we navigated, it kept returning to the iPad home page shutting the ap down-that glitch was also frustrating.

A lifesaver!

I downloaded all the offline content before our trip, so when we were in Yellowstone where there’s no service we were still able to access all the information about where to stop, the map, and the tours! We also purchased a paid app for Yellowstone, but this was way easier to use and an absolute lifesaver!!

Almost perfect

I love NPSYellowstoneNationalPark, i work and live in yellowstone and its super handy when we go backcountry hiking with no signal. Such a lifesaver when the trail is washed out, only thing i wish it would do is if you could click on a trailhead to light up the trail or type in the hike you want so you dont have to fine comb the map to find this. Also be great if it had more info on trails/ how long/ how hard/ and again, where on the map

Map is useful even separate from visiting Yellowstone

A useful app we used during our stay at Yellowstone. I recommend downloading the application prior to visiting the park. The map function has data for the entire country and useful for separate travels. I did not see, thus recommend a separate app just with the NP and NHS mapped. Until then NPSYellowstoneNationalPark will stay downloaded.

Good app, needs fixed

NPSYellowstoneNationalPark is actually a pretty good little app when it is working right. The map portion of NPSYellowstoneNationalPark just recently stopped working, so that takes away a vast majority of the usefulness of it right now, but when it did work it was useful and pretty nice. Hopefully the disappearing map problem is addressed soon, especially with the parks (Yellowstone and Grand Teton, which it’s app also has a map problem) starting to open for vehicles soon.

Great App- Super Helpful

We used NPSYellowstoneNationalPark to guide our entire trip. We knew where we wanted to go beforehand, so we were able to save our favorites and use it to guide our entire stay. Make sure you download the map because you won’t get service in the park but can still use the map and other features. So helpful!!

Buggy and crashy

I loved the possibilities of NPSYellowstoneNationalPark, especially being able to navigate the park with limited or no cell service. For the first half of the day it was awesome. Then it kept trying to get me to rate it (which I could not do without cell service anyway) and when I tried to opt out NPSYellowstoneNationalPark crashed. It happened a dozen times before I decided to abandon it altogether and just use the paper map we were given at the gate. It was a real disappointment, because NPSYellowstoneNationalPark has a lot of potential.

GLITCHY!!

Downloaded NPSYellowstoneNationalPark for our trip to Yellowstone. Downloaded everything ahead of time so it would work off line. Unfortunately it was super glitchy! Froze up and shut off. Open to black screen. The only way I could get it to work was to completely power off my phone then open it. This was NPSYellowstoneNationalPark and not my phone. I have an iPhone 8 and every app worked without issues. Was great when it worked though!

Better than the paper map!

We downloaded the offline content like recommended prior to our trip as well as selecting locations of interest on the map.

Once in the park, we had no cell service but NPSYellowstoneNationalPark still alerted us of upcoming spots and the map works without WiFi/Cellular Data.

Great App to assist with your Yellowstone trip!

A must!

NPSYellowstoneNationalPark is the perfect tool for ANYONE looking to visit Yellowstone. It allows you to search and bookmark all the stops in Yellowstone down to the smallest pit stop. I was even able to use it to track my movements on little to no service while in the park when my ordinary maps app wasn’t working. More NPS units need an app like this!

Cool tool

Make sure you download all content before you get there. There is no coverage in the park. GPS still worked so we were able to track attractions near us. Wish we would have used the audio tracks more. Nice tool to have when visiting the park.

5 stars all the way

I rarely write reviews on apps but made an exception to rave about how helpful and informative NPSYellowstoneNationalPark was during my time at Yellowstone. Never had any issue with it and referred to it often to see where I was, how far I needed to go, geyser predictions and so much more.

Amazing App - Golden Treasure

Best App for Yellowstone national park.. with offline data and map it is most convenient and helpful method to navigate in all over the park .. from trails to view points.. with details to routes its all there on app.. We give full credit to NPSYellowstoneNationalPark for our successful and memorable trip to Yellowstone

Does not even open since the latest update.

NPSYellowstoneNationalPark used to work well. However, since the update two days ago, it won’t even open - it immediately crashes. Please fix.
