Discouraging to kids

2022-05-27

We tried WritetheAlphabet as a supplement to my 9yros cursive curriculum. First, the cursive used is unlike any of the traditional or contemporary styles I've seen available in cursive curriculum. Secondly, the write must have their line follow the example precisely. If the students line strays ever so slightly it is marked with an x. This is incredibly discouraging to beginning writers. Lastly, as an adult with pretty good cursive (I was taught by nuns)I found it almost impossible to get my line to match that of the example precisely. You would be better off having your child use one of the doodling apps to trace letters you make. don't waste your time or money on WritetheAlphabet.

Deleting this app!

2022-06-28

Deleting WritetheAlphabet after the 1st use- you can't have a writing app that teaches incorrect letter formation! The 'a' isn't even close. Also failed to mention that only the first 7 letters of the alphabet are included. All other letters are locked and require purchase of full version. Not gonna happen.

DOES NOT TEACH 'TRADITIONAL' CURSIVE

2022-07-29

If you are looking for an app to teach your child to write the cursive you learn I'm grammar school, this is NOT IT. WritetheAlphabet teaches a Cyrillic font, not the traditional D'Nealian script font used in American schools.

Idea is cute but can't use this app!

I just tried two cursive letters...a and b. the formation is not how it's taught in school. Based on these two letters, I will not look into WritetheAlphabet further.
