About LSAT Trainer

You can improve your jump-shot by playing in basketball games, but isn't it more effective to practice jump-shots on their own? Similarly, you can eventually develop foundational LSAT skills by practicing official questions, but you can achieve score improvement more quickly and effectively by targeting and drilling foundational skills in isolation.

So whether it's three minutes in line at your favorite coffee shop, five minutes waiting for your friend to meet you at dinner, or fifteen minutes during your subway commute, LSAT Trainer enables you to sharpen your LSAT skills anywhere, anytime.

The games in NerdCoach's LSAT Trainer are designed to drill users on essential, yet commonly overlooked LSAT skills.

We've designed the games in LSAT Trainer so that you can get quality studying done without any books or scratch paper.

NerdCoach’s LSAT Trainer is a video-game inspired study tool that makes LSAT test prep fun and portable.

NerdCoach's LSAT Trainer drills you in essential skills in a way that your class won't.

The games included in NerdCoach’s LSAT Trainer are designed like video games.

LSAT Trainer games are potent 1-minute study sessions.

You invested a lot of money in your LSAT prep course, but do you feel like you’re making the progress you need? Prep courses are useful, but they don't teach everything you need to score well on the LSAT.

In our experience tutoring LSAT students, honing these skills leads to rapid score improvement.

In fact, they're fun enough that even people not studying for the LSAT find them enjoyable! You've got to study for the test; you might as well do it in a way that's both fun and effective.

LSAT books are heavy and official questions on your phone are useless unless you have scratch paper.

You don't have time to waste and NerdCoach helps make every minute count.

All you need is your iPhone or iPad and your attention.

Good concept but inconsistent and has logic errors

My biggest problem with LSATTrainer is that it has logic errors in the Can’t Jump This activity. There aren’t a lot of errors, but they are bad enough to really mess you up for LR on the LSAT.

Example:

Left side: The species survived the meteor strike.

Right side: The species did not go extinct.

LSATTrainer says you can jump this (that you can logically conclude the right side based on knowing the left side). But in LSAT Land, no, you cannot. Just because the species survived the meteor strike doesn’t mean it didn’t go extinct for some other reason. This is exactly the type of error they hope you’ll make, and LSATTrainer encourages you to make it.

I’m sure this sounds like nitpicking - that they only meant the species didn’t go extinct from the meteor strike. Well, the LSAT excels at nitpicking and you cannot assume this narrow scope for the info on the right side.

Very useful

I really like the fact that LSATTrainer has short games so that I can pick it up whenever I have a spare minute! I can already notice a change in my thinking.
My only objection is that I wish that it would give me the answer to the question that is on the screen when the timer goes off.

Great app!

I was skeptical at first for an LSAT app but when I found nerd coach I was pleasantly surprised. The games made learning almost addicting. I highly recommend LSATTrainer to anyone who wants some extra help with studying for the LSAT.

Decent addition to Kaplan course

I took Kaplan LSAT course and LSATTrainer is helping reinforce some of the concepts I learned there. It doesn't replace taking the official prep tests, but it's been a good addition. Thanks

Scam

Please don’t buy LSATTrainer it is a waste of money and time. The 4 games are useless at best, the games do not help you study at all. Games are very vague not many different questions. Only one good game to study but not worth 10 dollars

Great app

Makes studying (somewhat) fun

By

Useless

Very few activities are offered. Repeated examples. Very disappointed considering the cost.

By

Useless

Useless and repetitive, no logic games

Great on the go

I bought LSATTrainer on a recommendation of a friend who had heard about it. So far it's been a great supplement to the books I've been using. Also I find myself getting onto LSATTrainer whenever I'm sitting around with my phone. It's a great way to keep confidence up and not worry about not having found enough free time to sit down for an extended period of time since my schedule can become so packed.

Makes you pay attention

This review is mainly for the Can't Jump This game. I haven't really used the others yet but Can't Jump This really makes you pay attention to what you're reading. I was getting mad at first because I couldn't believe my answers were wrong on some of them, but the explanations make clear why. I'm reading more carefully on practice tests now.

High Quaility App

From the professional look of LSATTrainer down to the logic skills it empowers you with, LSATTrainer should be a primer before the beginning of any LSAT course. Just wish there was a trainer round (more than just the explanation) before I started getting so many things wrong... Other than that this is a perfect app!

Great App

Nerd Coach was definitely helpful for my LSAT studying. After using LSATTrainer , I think I could have gotten more out of it if I had been using LSATTrainer for a while before the test. LSATTrainer . offers a lot of useful content, so I could see how I could have benefitted more from LSATTrainer . by having more time to use it.

Thus far, quite a good practice technique

I've learned the methods, but LSATTrainer helps quicken the recognition necessary for the LSAT which is all about timing once you get the methods learned. I highly suggest this to anyone practicing for the exam and looking for ways to trim valuable time off.

Wonderful app!

I love LSATTrainer so far! It's helped me get more excited about studying for the LSAT -- something I've been putting off for a while. The games are pretty quick and get me in the right mindset to train for the test.

Useful app

Just bought LSATTrainer and have found it to be very user friendly. It takes complicated concepts and presents them in an understandable, helpful manner. A very good supplement to more formal study aids. I highly recommend it.

Love this

I love LSATTrainer because it makes studying fun. Only wish it was available on the iPad. It would be so much easier to play on a bigger screen.

Wonderful App!!! Two 👍👍's Up

Very helpful, I've taken LSAT classes and the longest time consuming section is reading. With LSATTrainer it makes it easier for you to grasp important parts of the passage before answering questions. This helps save time!

By

Good practice

This is good for people who've taken a course or are planning to take one. In both cases, using this as a refresher before the exam is helpful. This is worth the money!

By

Pretty Good

It's a very entertaining and educational app. LSATTrainer helps you look for certain question stems, which allow you to see pass the specious phrasing.

Helpful. Good supplement

I am using this in addition to my prep books. So far I really like it. I am already viewing specific word choices and phrasing differently because of these games.
