This app is easy and helpful and I love it

RiseUpRecover is unlike weight loss apps,
Obviously. When I log my meals, I don't have to meticulously find the ingredients to each thing and log all the calories. I'm not guilted or plagued with worries that I'm gaining weight. It doesn't make me log my weight. It gives me positive quotes, has mood charts, coping skills, and more.
For recovering with an eating disorder, this is perfect. You don't even need to be recently struggling. I've stopped my struggle with binging months ago but this is helping me gain more control and positive reaffirmation.
RiseUpRecover is very very simple to use. I love it, and a message to the creators: thank you.

The Best Tool I’ve Used Hands Down!

I don’t typically write reviews, but RiseUpRecover is amazing! It’s not completely perfect for my needs, but it is customizable enough to where I can tweak it and add info where it is easily accessible for tracking purposes.

I struggle with depression and anxiety along with severe nerve pain and autoimmune issues. It provides an easy way for me to track what I eat without the pressure of tracking amounts/calories, but link moods, feelings, and symptoms (I’ve input for myself to check off) for the day.

You can easily export my logs to PDF for your therapist or doctor to review. The UI is clean and simple to use. And the positive messages and reminders that pop up keep you going with the goals you’ve set for yourself.

I ask that the developers continue to support RiseUpRecover and hope that it remains available. Whether you struggle with an eating disorder or other health related issue, RiseUpRecover is very helpful. Thank you creating RiseUpRecover!

Perfect for recovery

This is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted an app to log my food, the situation around it, and track helpful and unhelpful behaviors. I’ve used Recovery Record but outside of treatment, I found it cumbersome and too clinical, and there were required fields I didn’t always want to answer. This will allow me to enter as much or as little as I have time for. The one thing I wish it had was a photo option, which was useful in RR for adding details later. All in all though, I’m very happy to have found this.

Best tool for bringing awareness to relationship with food

I'm 21 and currently in a real recovery program for the first time, although ED started when I was 12. Meal plans typically stress me out, but the Recovery Warriors Rise Up app is a great way to simultaneously track intake and emotions and notice patterns that I wasn't fully aware of before. I use it as a sort of diary to communicate the thoughts/feelings that I don't have time to fully explain in a single meeting with my dietitian, but that she can see in the reports I send her weekly via RiseUpRecover . It's super user-friendly and convenient.

THANK YOU!

I'm still a baby in my recovery, and I'm glad I found RiseUpRecover. Meal tracking is so easy. I've tried other meal trackers and many of them were either too complicated or very triggering - not the best choice for someone who tends to obsess over food. Love that I can just type and go. The coping skills section is cool, I'm definitely gonna use the journal prompts. RiseUpRecover is stellar on its own, but there is one feature I would love to see! It would be nice if there was a little section for notes, to log realizations, milestones, or feelings.

Awesome app!

I've been battling with my ED since August and just downloaded RiseUpRecover. I must say, this is pretty impressive! I love all of the motivational quotes and how easy the whole system is! I love checking in everyday and meal logging! I'm a new user to this but I really think I'm going to stick with it and it is going to help me recover🙌🏽 RiseUpRecover isn't just for females either! I'm a male and I love RiseUpRecover. I recommend that when meal logging, that there should be a upload option! Uploading the picture of what you ate so it could be easier🙌🏽 great app

It works, it's simple, it's VERY helpful

Nothing to complain about. I live that when you log meals they don't include calories. It encourages mindfulness and helps you to think and talk about food without external judgment. Highly recommend for anyone who is in recovery (always check with therapists and doctors first though IMO) or even anyone who feels a relapse or increase in the intensity of ED feelings. Also helps with mood as you can add an emotional response to each meal and a note to each emotion so you can really reflect on what is going on. Thanks Rise up!!

Just getting started

Just started using RiseUpRecover when my nutritionist recommended it and so far I love it! It’s helped me stay mindful and helps me check in with my nutritionist weekly, and helps me check in with myself as I use it throughout the day.

Would love the addition of a photo option for the meal log, as sometimes writing out a list of everything I’m eating is difficult for me, especially when the list looks long, so just having the option to add a photo of my plate would be great!

Amazing recovery tool

RiseUpRecover is great to log meals and snacks, behaviors, and moods all in one place. You can export the info as a PDF by day or by week. It has made a HUGE difference for me in recognizing patterns that I didn't realize were present. It's also a good reality check when I think I'm doing a crap job because I can look and see that I'm not doing so bad as I think. I email the PDFs to my dietitian the night before my appointments and it's been a great tool for us to use together. I highly recommend this.

Impressed

I'm very impressed with RiseUpRecover. I didn't know what to expect going into it, but I love it so far. You can track your emotions before, after, and during each meal, which meals you've skipped, and export a pdf record of it for your doctor/dietician/therapist. The only suggestion I have is a way to keep track of your health. Like recording whether you felt dizzy/light headed, fatigued, if you got a headache, etc. Other than that, this is brilliant.

Great premise, adequate execution

I love almost everything about RiseUpRecover! Being able to log foods without counting calories, macros, carbs, keto, paleo, etc. is fantastic. I like the opportunities for notes, feelings and behaviors. I even like the motivational notes.

The only thing I don’t love is the actual interface. It’s not very visually appealing and it’s really glitchy. If I try to edit by clicking a word or if I use an emoji it blanks out and I have to retrace my steps. So far it’s been worth it but it’s still frustrating.

So comprehensive!

....and thank you Jessica for RiseUpRecover too! (I just wrote a review about the podcast!).
I still can't believe how comprehensive RiseUpRecover is. Jessica clearly put a lot of time and effort into creating it, and could have easily charged money for it. It's so great that she is putting it out there for free so that it's accessible to everyone. Everyone who is struggling with any type of eating disorder (even those that are recovered), can benefit from this!

An app that gently keeps you on track

The best recovery app I have ever used! It is so simple, yet incredibly effective. I love being able to check in with myself throughout the day and the positive affirmations always make me feel better on a hard day. Having so many resources and coping skill suggestions at my fingertips helps me stay focused while making me feel like I can support myself on my own. RiseUpRecover truly is a blessing.

No Security Protocols Specified

Nice app. However, the failure to elucidate a cogent security policy prevents me from using RiseUpRecover.

For example, the logging function is attractive, yet sharing it via email (as suggested in RiseUpRecover ) is a huge risk as email is insecure. There are ways to connect therapists with clients that are secure. At least one other product uses a secure, bidirectional portal to do this so that therapists can see all client input (including assessments) and therapists can offer immediate encouragement and feedback (which is helpful between sessions).

There is so much in RiseUpRecover that I like. However, my extensive work experience in the IT industry tells me that using RiseUpRecover jeopardizes my privacy.

Intuitive with many tools to help you get healthy

Amazing app! Has a great flow. Took a tiny while to figure it out but that's because there's a lot here - write down your food, check off a box for what you're feeling, inspirational/spiritual quotes built right in (love these!), and lots of other tools. I've used it for about a week but if I keep using it - writing down my food and feelings - I know I'll be successful in my ED journey.

So helpful

RiseUpRecover is helping to prevent a little relapse into becoming a major relapse for me. Grateful for it.

You create a log similar to those used in the intensive outpatient program I was in years ago. I love RiseUpRecover because it takes the work out of creating a log on my own. The inspirational quotes that pop up occasionally are corny, but I don't find that it distracts from the value of the program.

I'm already getting back in the habit of noticing my painful feelings and urges, acknowledging when I use positive and negative coping skills, acknowledging when I advocate for myself. Turns out there are small brave things I do that I can be proud of. All this mindfulness is making me want to be healthy.

Be well!

over all a great app

So far love it for tracking food with emotions. Love the target behaviors and that they can be changed to what applies to me. Would really love to use the note feature because I think it would help. But using my iPhone it does not not show what I'm entertaining as I'm typing so it's easy to lose my train of thought as well as no way to catch the pesky auto correct mistakes until I'm done. It's too much frustration so I don't use that feature.

So happy to have found this!

Love the ability to track food, emotions and keep notes about both. Love the inspirational quotes too!

My favorite part of RiseUpRecover the area where RiseUpRecover suggests something for you to do (such as difference meditations or mindful activities) if your in crisis mode. So helpful!!

Thank you so much to the creators of RiseUpRecover - you are helping to change lives.

Helpful & efficient

Big fan so far of RiseUpRecover. It's helped me keep track of my eating habits and I really enjoy the way you can export the meal logs...its been very helpful for my counselor. It would be great, though, to be able to do more with exchanges. Since I am so new to the exchange system, I have to write down how many I'm supposed to have on paper and it's just annoying it can't all be on my phone. Just a suggestion! Overall, good app so far :)

Life changing

I adore listening to the Recovery Warriors podcast which I came across just recently. In addition, I learned about RiseUpRecover. It was exactly what I was looking for. I needed something a little more, than apps I've used in the past. The quotes are inspiring and even the layout is calming. I highly recommend it to anyone with disordered eating or an unhealthy relationship food/body image
