Alllll about luck

Fun game that’s creative and unique. However when you go into this game it’s best to know it’s pure luck. The “guide” says the luck is even and that shield is the best way to go, but it definitely isn’t. I find it much more successful to go for attacks and ignore the middle roll options completely. I tried the shield/hack tactics for a while and while there were games I would win big, a vast majority I would lose due to the AI getting an absurd amount of luck. It might sound like complaining but it’s just a fact, it feels like the game considers having a successful hack far more lucky than a triple roll, and therefore it thinks it needs to give a lot of luck to the AI. While trying shield tactics I’ll constantly have games where I get one successful hack (which are great) but then the AI will have 4x or 5x the amount of triple rolls as I have. Constantly. So in summary: ignore the guide, and try your own ways. And remember it’s luck.

my favorite game as a kid

i loved this game as a kid, everything from the graphics to the music to the easter eggs of messages when certain robots were beaten wowed 10 year old me playing on a HP touchpad. it is a bit of luck but you eventually learn ways to put yourself in the best position to win. triple rolls are almost essential but strategy of using the “rapid fire” at key times is just as devastating to the AI as it is to you when they roll a triple. overall, and i may be a bit nostalgic here, it’s a great game. randomly thought about it today and am re-downloading for the first time in years.

Do not download

The beginning of the game is fun. Once you get past the learning curve, the game makes all of the decisions for you. It’s a slot-style way of choosing which robots you want, so you can only control 1 element of the game, and the rest is up to “chance”. You play against the computer, who, amazingly, gets the best choices. And after 20 turns, even if you’re winning, the computer literally uses a nuke and kills you anyway. What annoys me the most about this game, is that the losing party, somehow magically gets better chances near the end of the game.
What I would recommend to the developers to make this game less rage-inducing:
1) change the slot-style system in place, to a system where we can choose what strategies we wish to employ.
1) get rid of the “better-chances-when-you’re-losing” gimmick.

A few changes to be made

Really fun game, just needs some new stuff, maybe other planets? Also needs better multiplayer and fanbase, perhaps advertising could do it? You could also add skins, emotes (victory dances), more headgear (skins headgear and emotes would be for all units (including player/ mainframe)), and of both sides and loot crates (containing skins emotes and headgear for units and player) for a successful battle, as well as getting twice the energy spent. You’ve got a great formula, but it needs the above things, to me, this is a classic, and others share that opinion, so please, bring it back.

Multiplayer?

Is multiplayer no longer available? It always says connection failed make sure you are using the latest version which I am using, please bring it back, other thank that this game is amazing, had to come back once it was removed from Mac App Store, if you are contemplating downloading, do it! Very fun, make sure to add the 99 cent recharger node but you can play without it, and get far if you are good but once you run out, you need to restart, but you also gain life each win.

Great for people who don’t spend way too much time playing like me

Best app I’ve ever played. That said, the AI gains a huge RNG advantage somewhere around level 18. I know I’m not just salty because I’ve been keeping track. For the past 70 battles I’ve been given “advantage” 5 times and the computer has “advantage” ~65 times. I define advantage as getting more triple rolls (most powerful effect + extra turn), also considering a successful hack of an elite or heroic bot as another “advantage” point.

Concept is somewhat flawed

This game is really fun but there is one problem for those that don’t really have money to spend. If you run out of energy right before you fight the last node, all of your progress is reset to square one. Admittedly, that’s not very likely since you could have near 6000 energy by the end of the game, but the issue is still there. ALSO I CANT BELIEVE THAT THIS GAME IS STILL GETTING UPDATES!!!!!

Fun game

I find the game really fun, except one you have reached over four the next few people you fight are stronger than you. Also, I think there should be an easier way to find bases of a certain level. Like some sort of search bar. This is pushing it but it would be cool so that on the multiplayer menu it showed how many people were on Robotek at the time.

Classic

Classic been playing this game since HP Touchpad firesale. Finally conquered the whole world and completed 100% of the map.

To those complaining about the computer having all the advantage, I was able to develop a strategy that allowed me to beat the computer about 95% of the time. It’s possible.

Very Entertaining Except for the Cheating

A very entertaining, simple game. Except that the designers have made the mistake of letting the computer cheat in order to increase difficulty. That sort of rubber banding works in certain games, but not in a strategy game dependent on probabilities. It ceases to become a fun distraction and turns into a source of stress.

At least give the option to turn off computer favoritism.

Another drawback is Robotek closes too quickly when switching to take a call or other necessary task, and you get an automatic loss in whatever match you're engaged.

I Iove the campaign mode but multiplayer is lacking

Fantastic game I’ve loved it since I was a kid especially the multiplayer mode but no one really plays it anymore ether that or I just end up waiting for half an hour I know this may not be the Devs faults but I really wish I was able to play multiplayer more

Used to be fun

At one point this was a game of chance and strategy. Now as it progresses the game tries to make you lose. I played a game where I eliminated the opponents bots, and it roles for a hack. The thing is, it ALWAYS gets a three role hack, and ALWAYS steals my best bot. Then it rerolls for an elite bot. The game actively denies you a chance to get ahead, having the opponent bots role arbitrarily yet giving it the lead in two turns. One game it roles four successful hacks in a row, and then gets an elite tank bot. In frustration I kill Robotek (which of course means I lost power). So if you are looking for a game of chance, don’t stop here.

Ok, let me get things. straight.

First of all, it's not possible for the computer to roll perfectly 3 times in a row. Getting past Canada is possible. You can upgrade stuff, and the game is all about luck. If you have bad luck, do not rate this game 1 star. It's just a game anyways, chill. Either way, five stars. Great time killer, and very fun.

Fun game, but

I like this game. It’s fun, no annoying ads or any complaints there.
My issue is I cannot silence the sound effects in the settings. Turning down the sound effect volume in settings doesn’t change it; I still hear them. Putting my phone on silent doesn’t affect this either. A little annoying when listening to music :(

The AI's hacking is too "lucky"

Overall, it's an entertaining game. I wish there were more aesthetic variations among the nodes, but that's such a minor inconvenience in comparison to the outrageous luck the AI has when it comes to hacking. Every time they cast a hack, there's no hope. They get the hack off every. Single. Time.

Great game, but you scammed the money out of me...

I bought the Lord costume and that recharge thingy a long time ago, deleted Robotek a year ago, re downloaded it recently and there is nothing to restore purchases. Very disappointing. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for that.

Also, to the noobs raging about how the AI gets criticals and deflects but they don't, you have to spend your coins in the shop each time you level up to get those.

cOolest game ive found in a while

The tutorial made the game seem really simple and easy, but then it quickly gets more challenging and complex and fun. The levelling system, the 'calculated risk' choices, and the great artwork and music keeps me playing all day! I will save the world! ...but maybe not the human race...

One of the best devs on the App Store

Outclasses most of the “games” on the front page, keeping Robotek Store from being a complete dumpster fire. this app has some of the best aesthetics and soundtrack ever seen in a mobile game, making it a staple app for any mobile device.

I love the game.

Personally this game is amazing the worst thing through is that I deleted it and I forgot the name of it and now I have it back plus do NOT listen to the one star people because they just can’t deal with the game

Excellent

A very nicely made game. I got it on the first gen iPad years ago, loving it still.

To anyone that thinks the game is too biased towards the computer, click on help on the main screen. There's a nice guide there that gets into some of the game's mechanics.
