IowaBus Reviews

I have been using IowaBus for a year now and it’s been great up until recently. All the sudden it will, every so often. show that a bus is coming, do the whole countdown, show that’s it’s arriving, but there’s no bus. When it says “arriving”, I check the map and there’s no bus nearby. This is extremely inconvenient as it has caused me to go to the bus stop for a bus that isn’t coming several times. The busses that I take only come every 30-60 minutes so it’s really a big inconvenience for me when I don’t have accurate information. For example, I recently thought I was waiting (outside, in 10 degree weather) to catch the last bus of the night when in reality the last bus had already come.

IowaBus is 100% better than Bongo. However, I have issues with IowaBus not notifying me in time when I in fact selected a time for a notification, and this has caused me to be late for class on many occasions. Also, the times are not always accurate so beware. I am about to be late for class AGAIN because the bus got here 3 minutes earlier than it said it would and I have to wait for the next one.

The latter could just be a problem with the Coralville bus system, and I don’t know how you guys work it out with the busses to get their times, but PLEASE work on making it more accurate if you can. Thanks.

It’s accurate, easy to navigate, AND you can set notifications for however many minutes away it is. 10/10 app

IowaBus works great! The overhead view of the busses gives a clear indication of where they are and the menu system is intuitive. However there are stops (including both of the west side dorms where I live) that virtually never have time estimates available, making it tricky to judge when a bus will arrive

With me being totally blind it will be a lot easier for me to learn the bus routes here and I was city I think it is a great app I would like to see a lot of the 30th had the same opportunity

This is a must have for U of I students! Doesn’t crash! Doesn’t waste my time waiting on a bus, check IowaBus , get an alert, get to the stop. 🔥💯

More accurate than Bongo in terms of estimated times. Also has up-to-date routes as of fall 2016, and even gives a warning notification if there is a news update for a given route.

You will miss your bus at least once a week because the ETA given by IowaBus is frequently unreliable.

I should have known this earlier. Do no use stupid Bongo...

numerous times i’ve been late going to an event because of bongo, the routes are inconsistent and doesn’t pass nearly as often as having a functional bus system should be operating.

Useless app. Its predictions are never correct.
