Hmm not quite sure

The game in general is pretty good I’m not going to lie, although the store or shop is a bit to expensive, like isn’t it when you buy something so it can last longer than what you usually get and when you want to buy like “monsters” you don’t have to overly price it, so much for fortnite am I right, you see the concept of the game is well to tap buttons according to the beats, it’s a okay game it’s really addictive but not the time waiting and the overly priced items, if I were to spend 20 dollars on this game i wouldn’t even be able to get a “ monster” like jeez it’s as if you were just paying for skins on Fortnite but for more money, I do believe this game might be just trying to make money quickly but they aren’t really putting their time and effort on the game, also the characters aren’t as good as any other games you could make your own avatar on, like two options for well your looks and it’s as if you have to choose what you don’t have, yea people make funny characters well for the fun of it right? But you can’t even make yourself seem interesting when you are going to look like the guy who’s next to you, as if everyone had a twin, games fun but not something you should waste your money on, too expensive and people get bored for waiting and will eventually uninstall this game for sure... fix it

Needs Improvement

I love rhythm games so much so that almost all the games I play are rhythm games. Anything involving something that makes you tap your feet makes me pumped! Though, this game didn’t give me any feeling of excitement. To be straight, this game is dull. When your fingers tap the incoming circles the phone for one doesn’t vibrate (Which doesn’t need to be included but a setting that could be turned on and off would be thoughtful) and two the lines don’t disappear after contact making the player confused on whether or not they made a perfect score. Bringing me to my next point the speed of incoming circles are too slow. The setting for speeds aren’t there and if so then a tutorial should be necessary to fully experience a game. Also there’s no variety, most of the songs there are general songs to a general audience. Such as the game having 2 types of rock while having only one kind of classical. Not to mention no anime/ vocaloid songs that a vast majority would enjoy. Furthermore the video for NEXTMusic was kinda misleading on speed, in the video the circles are moving somewhat fast but in the game the circles are at an extremely slow pace. This is all opinion but if the game could have more customizable functions and more variety plus improved their design this game would be pretty good.

Come A Long Way in a Bad Way

Beat Fever used to be fun. It used to be a nightly routine of mine - log in, play a few songs to unwind, then hit the pillow. Every night, like clockwork. However, ever since the update that reset everyone’s progress, the game has gone downhill in terms of enjoyment. This new system of getting locked into one album for 24 is ludicrous. There’s not even any way of truly knowing what kind of sound the music has so a player will like playing it. Why would I want to play the beats for a song I don’t even like? It’s a bunch of trial and error and that’s frustrating. And for the love of god, please organize the music better. Let players have a playlist of their own so they don’t have to hunt down a song they want to play. And please. The cash grab is obvious. Pay for lives? No. Pay for VIP to play the nicer songs? No. Beat Fever used to be decent. Play the game, pay for extra boosts (pretty much PTW regarding duels). Now it’s just a gagglefrick of paying just to play for individual fun and being forced into dubious interactive albums. Bring back festivals, declutter the UI, and get rid of those stupid lives.

If you’re disappointed with BF, try Neon FM. It doesn’t have the big names and overall polish of BF (a UI like DDR) but it’s a more than worthy port in this s.storm.

Pay to finish....

I’ve been playing this game for a while now and love it!! The wide variety of songs, the way your performance affects the level they out you at speed wise(easy, normal, hard, or pro) and love that this game isn’t just the one speed like other games where it’s to slow for comfort! It’s an all around pretty awesome game! The ONLY reason I’m giving this 4 stars is bc I made it to level 8 on the “story mode” if you wil and can’t finish a playing unless I become “vip” which is only if you pay a monthly charge!!!! And can’t even go back to play the first seven levels....Really disappointed about that!! I have no use for my hearts anymore unless there is a tournament going on....please fix this! I truly love this game but will be forced to find a new one that I don’t HAVE to pay for!! Thanks for listening!

Update is pretty harsh to say the least... stamina is hard enough to come by in this game and expensive af to buy, but then you up the ante by making the songs you ya stamina for IMPOSSIBLE to beat especially since I have NO control over the level I play at... like another comment said game has come a Long way....but not a good way!

Half-Baked

It’s got potential. Taking top 40 and making it “playable” isn’t a bad idea. Unfortunately, playing a song is like playing a short, early demo version of something like guitar hero. What people are saying about the difficulty curve is true; you’re performance will fall off a cliff after the first couple “songs.” In quotes because you’re only playing 30 seconds or a minute worth of a song at a time. Not exactly sure, but it’s short. Anyway, difficulty would be better in the form of subtle accuracy differences over actually speeding things up and cluttering the screen with a bunch of difficult commands. The pay to play aspect looms large with all sorts of currencies and customization items in ADDITION to subscriptions. The music “news” section is in its infancy. I was treated to a single story, low-budget MTV news style, about Katy Perry’s annual earnings which lasted a few seconds, and then repeated. I downloaded NEXTMusic, not based on reviews, but because the idea is great. NEXTMusic could take over the world (which it clearly aims to do) if done properly. As it stands, it’s a fun diversion. I hope to see it improve in the future.

Fun While it Lasted

After playing halfway through the story mode, you’ll get to a point to where you will have to be “vip” to continue playing. Meaning you will have to PAY to continue playing. At that point you have a few options left before you eventually get tired of the game and uninstall it. 1) Duel online, which is not bad, but considering you play the same 10 songs over and over it gets boring 2) join a crew 3) play interactive albums

Number 2 and 3 aren’t bad....but of course there’s a catch. Instead of being able to play with the amount of hearts/lives you have, you now need “energy” to play. This “energy” acts as the hearts you would normally use during the story mode, but of course once you fail a song you lose one energy. However, unlike the hearts it takes a WHOLE HOUR to recover from 1...unless you’re willing to pay for more.

Bottom line is that this game is money hungry, and will bombard you with options to spend money in the game, and even requires you to spend money once you reach a certain point within the game. I thought for once I had found a decent game to waste time with, but the only thing you’ll be wasting is cash.

Great game but...

It’s a great game reminds me of tap tap revenge but this games difficulty rises way too fast for other players who aren’t that skilled or still don’t have the hang of playing the game, also this game enforces you to actually spend money, you can play without paying a cent but it won’t be as enjoyable because things become time gated unless you pay “gems” which is this games most difficult currency to come by if you don’t pay for it. Game also includes this VIP membership as well. I also recommend turning off 3D touch for this game, i have accidentally left matches by switching screens due to 3D touch. When it comes to competing against other players it’s truly unfair and luck based. The game will match you with players way out of your league and give you an easy song or the same song but on a higher difficulty or the game will match you against someone in you league but their monsters ( basically score multipliers) will be double as strong as yours. Lastly, overall it is a good game but it needs to remove time gates because it is a fast paced game and you won’t enjoy it if you have to stop playing because you will no longer be rewarded for winning.

They keep killing their own game.

This game is trash. I’ve played it since late 17-early 18 and every other month this game undergoes a complete overhaul. There is no warning when this stuff happens. Each update, more gameplay aspects are axed in favor of “music party” and “buzz”, party being a ripoff of twitch/yt and buzz being reddit copycat. In case you didn’t know, this used to be a rhythm game where you had health and lives, now those are axed. The game is completely lost and ignored within the devs money hungry additions. They used to have a VIP subscription system where you got access to tons of songs but they took away the access. The devs pay no attention to their community despite asking them for feedback every week. They have a beta group that I used to be a part of, I had leave after I realize we were only there for decoration. Tons of bugs and feedback we reported never got addressed. Now, the whole game is filled with ads, even if you paid to get rid of them. The game also encourages you to livestream copyrighted music and for people to donate fake points (paid with real money) to hear this. To be honest, I don’t think this game deserves any of your money and time. Please go play another rhythm game.

Good but...

I LOVE THIS GAME SOOO MUCH! I love how challenging it is and the music is so catchy! However I’m the type of person that when something is hard I try a million times to get it right but I can’t do that, you only have 3 lives!? I think there should either be a lot more or just infinite lives so we could play without restriction. Plus it gets easier whenever you lose, which again I like to keep trying until I get it but it ruins the purpose If it gets easier. I think it would also be really great if you could choose the difficulty rather than it being too hard and lose a life from it or too easy it’s boring. Another thing is that I press all the beats on time but it will say I miss them even when I don’t therefore I lose the games and lose lives and it gets annoying when I have to get a combo but I can’t because it tell me I miss the notes. Also I wish that if you miss a certain number it wouldn’t automatically fail you, like I’d like to keep trying throughout the song( again especially when it says I didn’t press it but I did)

Please fix this😅

Ruined

I am a huge fan of rhythm games, and back in the day when tap tap revolution was a thing mobile rhythm games were a dime a dozen and they were typically rather quality. My nostalgia for such games led me to download Beat Fever. At first I was impressed by the original and somewhat challenging interface. My only issue was the 30 min it takes to regain one life, but for a free game that is too be expected. I would spend my free time enjoying the game and the music until I ran out of lives which could be up to 45 min. BUT...

Today I had to update my app and it is now garbage. Before the update you could miss a note or a few in a row before you lost your life, not too easy not too challenging. But now it is a shameless cash grab. If you miss ONE NOTE then it tells you that you must use your in game currency (which is not given freely) or watch a 30 second ad to continue playing that song without losing a life. Super disappointed because I really enjoyed the game before. Now if I don’t play perfectly then I either have to stop the song and lose my flow or lose a life. What was a 45 minute playtime is now a 5 minute playtime if you’re lucky. Don’t waste your time with NEXTMusic.

Buttons and gameplay

The button that boosts the amount of score you get for a note is too high on the right side. I’d like to have it lower to where it is just right over the fourth circle to hit the notes. It gets annoying that i have to quickly go up to the middle of my phone and get back into the game. I can’t do it fast enough to where i won’t miss the note. Gameplay however, really restricts the amount of songs you can play. It bugs me that the interactive albums can only go one at a time. At least fix it to where you can have multiple albums at once to play with and not have to be restricted to one. There’s one too many swipe notes that one can play and the bpm on normal is way too fast on certain songs. Especially the boss battles. It’s almost impossible to get over 700+ great+ notes on a bpm that’s like hard mode. Another thing is the song length. I know it’s to avoid copyright and whatnot but at least extent the sections just a little more for the songs that are already less than 50 seconds long.

Impossible to chose level of difficulty

I was playing yesterday first time and gave it 5 stars but now I changed my mind because it’s simply impossible to play. Game automatically set up your difficulty. Now my level of difficulty is hard and nothing I can do with that. Moreover if you are playing online duel, they gave you opponents with easy or normal level of difficulty, but you have to play same song in hard level. it’s kinda not fair. and I didn’t even speak about money that you have to put in game to win in online battles. So it’s nothing about your skills, you win if you buy good stuff( for $ of course). Gays, you have a lot of advertising and promote celebrities, still not enough money though. Okay, business is business but I don’t wanna pay for game where I can’t even enjoy of playing. I hope in next update developers allow to choose by yourself level of difficulty or they do for example album where at the beginning is easy song and for good reward you have to win on hard/expert level

Okay...ish

This game is fun but I'm sure as you have seen in other reviews, it gets really hard really fast. It’s like going from easy to expert in guitar hero in a couple minutes. You only get 3 lives and it takes 30 minutes to refill each one. Also a lot in this game is unexplained.. the tutorial is basically trash because it doesn’t provide elaborate information about the chests, monsters, and how to play the songs you choose. And I don’t mind when there’s a swipe note here and there, but there’s literally 10 swipe notes at the same time all going different ways while I’m also trying to keep up with the regular notes. This game was fun to try out, but now that it is getting so hard to play I want to erase it. Also so many celebrities were advertising their music for NEXTMusic but the story mode is basically the same 5 songs played over and over. And I know people will say “if you hate NEXTMusic why even care to write a review” it’s because I know this game as potential to be super fun and one of the best games they just need to fix ALOT of issues.

Help

Hi I'm a very big guitar hero player and I'm here to ask for help upon your beat fever game!!! Before I go into some of the issues of the game, I will say I love this game, has good songs and reminds me of guitar hero so much 💕and I would say if you patch and fix the game with an update make it a little more like guitar hero please 🙏 but The game gets pretty glitchy after you proceed through the chapters.. as you keep going it will suddenly put you on pro mode through out the little story they allow you to play. Then since you don’t even have vip you can’t change it back to normal😑 which is almost a scam to make me pay for something I can’t even play because it’s on pro mode... another issue I encountered was the notes stopped hitting at random times even when I pressed them, like the game was laggy or something 👎 I even screen recorded to check. It’s like they don’t register my thumb tap....

Very fun! But there’s room for improvement...

This rhythm game is a lot of fun to play there plenty of todays music to play the game to as well as having many genres to choose from. However, there much room for improvement 😐.

1. I don’t like that I need to wait an hour for energy, as a matter a fact, I’m not liking the idea of putting energy in a rhythm game in the first place. With rhythm games I want to keep playing and trying again and again not telling me like every other annoying app in today’s world that I have to wait for energy in order to play.
2. The avatars are a little unnecessary, I think I see the appeal to having avatars in the game but tbh I’m not really diggin’ it. Maybe avatar profile pictures but the whole body avatar doing a bunch of today’s dances gotta go.
3. Adding a difficulty setting would be nice as well. I’m noticing genres such as pop music is easy but electronic/dance music is pretty difficult. It’ll be nice to add a difficulty setting to NEXTMusic for a better experience playing the game.
