I have just started my subscription and I am woefully unhappy with how it is running on my iOS devices. I’ve written a couple of emails and the solutions you offer do not work. On my iPad NewYorkMagazine always tells me to connect to the Internet even though it’s connected. I emptied the browser cache, deleted and reinstalled NewYorkMagazine and it still does not work. On my iPhone, I am not able to display any images from the digital edition. One of my favorite things about your magazine is the approval matrix but I cannot see it as that image will not download to my phone. If this is not resolved in the next day or two I would like to cancel my subscription for a full refund. Your tech-support says to update NewYorkMagazine but there is no update available. Please reply.

The new app version is just awful. I used to be able to swipe each page, like an actual magazine, zoom in, and sometimes click on a link for sounds or video. Now, it’s just a hodgepodge of articles, none of the advertisements in the print version and each time I open NewYorkMagazine it says I’m limited to five articles, though I have a print subscription and I’m signed in. Really, such a disaster...who actually decided to implement this garbage? And what was so bad about the old version? I used to be able to download a whole issue and read it offline...no more. Really, who’s making these decisions and why haven’t they been fired yet?

The first thing I do in the morning is read articles from NewYorkMagazine. It’s got an endless supply of witty commentary and factual news reports. I couldn’t recommend it any higher.

Not sure why NYmag thought they needed to fix something that was not broken. I liked the previous version of NewYorkMagazine which treated the format of the digital magazine the same as the print magazine. This new app update makes all the articles wildly out of order with no rhyme or reason. Feels like I’m just scrolling through the site- in which case I’d rather not have a subscription as part of what I pay for is a thoughtful layout and full reading experience.

I have been a long time digital subscriber, and read it often in the subway, on airplanes, and other places where I don’t have WiFi. Since they updated NewYorkMagazine , it is now the new format (which I don’t love, but can tolerate), but what I HATE is that I can’t see any images in the magazine unless I am on WiFi. Even when it is ‘available offline’ and I have downloaded the magazine. As a very visual magazine, it’s really frustrating - esp. since the cost tripled from last year. Considering canceling next year bc I am so frustrated.

The worst thing about NewYorkMagazine is the fact images don’t download properly, whether on WiFi or not. This is extremely frustrating particularly for articles which are specifically about the accompanying images. In this issue I can’t even see The Approval Matrix! Secondly I don’t like not being able to read through the mag cover to cover, you have to select an article from a randomly ordered menu which is really disruptive. Did they do no research on how people read this magazine??

I like the magazine but NewYorkMagazine is jus so-so. It has a method to download load the entire magazine or just read recent stories but the two are poorly linked.

I was trying to read a cover story but it took me over five minutes to find it. So I downloaded the issue but the index didn’t list the cover story anywhere. I then realized that the cover actually had a different title listed in the index without even an indication like. COVER STORY.

Weak.

I love NYMag. They have terrific stories, excellent journalists, and beautiful photography and illustrations, but I don’t get to see the last two things because they frequently don’t load at all in NewYorkMagazine . I just know there should be something because I see a large empty white space with a credit below. Whyyy!?

Loved the old version. You could zoom in on images, text. It had the feel of reading the print magazine. This new version feels oddly dated and way less sophisticated.

Bummer. Can no longer view the cover large. Just a thumb nail. It’s always been about the cover. If you can’t provide the once great magazine app it once was, why bother subscribing to NewYorkMagazine ? May as well just read the articles on the website.

New York Magazine really delivered with their new app! It has a modern look, very clean, and it’s much more user friendly. The news feed is lighter and faster. I would rate it six stars if possible!

I’m a regular New York Magazine reader on the web exclusively and NewYorkMagazine doesn’t come close to creating a mobile alternative. If you’re interested in the political reporting but not Kardashian updates, look elsewhere. There are also long lapses between updates of what’s actually happening on the site, so I tend to visit the desktop version in my browser instead.

I’ve also had a subscription for several years and cannot get the new improved crap app to work. I try sending emails and it won’t let me. I was able to get through once but had a terrible customer service experience with no resolve. I like being able to read my magazines on my mobile device if I’m out in the world. This is the only magazine that doesn’t work now. Good job.

My 24-year-old daughter lives in Manhattan and I visit often this is the best guide for what to do and what to tell your daughter to do, even if she doesn’t listen!

I pay for a subscription and the whole app is basically product suggestions. Totally ridiculous. NewYorkMagazine should have ALL sections in the “latest stories” section not just links to strategist articles which feel like covert advertising. Disappointed I got this.

The new app is virtually unreadable on an iPhone since it’s merely the magazine pages squeezed onto a phone screen. It’s only marginally better on an iPad. Please revert back to the prior app where I can actually scroll through and read the articles. Otherwise this will be the last time I renew my subscription. While I enjoy the articles, the user experience is terrible.
