Needs much work but effective!

I really want to give this 5 stars but it has some obvious bugs and the developer only updates like once a year. Too bad, there is some real potential here. Some notes don’t sound, D and C sometimes, check that out. Also what’s really frustrating is I’ll be up to 180 correct or so and the last tap maybe was doubled tap and Guitario registers that as a wrong answer for the next note, rrrr.... also the note you tap aren’t laid out far enough, it’s easy to mistakenly tap a wrong answer. It really needs a refresh for a paid app BUT it’s very effect and I like the high score feature it helps with motivation so that’s worth 3 stars, but minus 2 stars for bad interface and minor bugs and low engagement on the developer. Will 5 star this once/if improvements are made.

Great tool

Just learning basic music theory and Guitario has been a great supplement.
I have very little issue in charting the notes on a piece of paper and Guitario has been so helpful in testing my ability to locate the notes on the fretboard. I really like how it shows all the notes that you went through right after you are done or in my case when I selected the incorrect note.
It’s fairly addictive so a few days in and I can tell that this is an app that I will continue to use and eventually reference back to during my time playing the guitar

Great!

After 1 day of playing, I was already so much better at fretboards! The lessons are good, but it’s sad there are only five of them. This game also challenges you, which makes it even better and easier to learn! The only thing I think should be better, is there should be more games and challenges. Other than that, it’s a great tool!

Has Potential

It has a nice interface overall, but has some bugs that keep it from being that useful. For example, in training mode, it’s supposed to test me on notes across the whole string, but instead it keeps giving me the same 4 notes. (Literally, after 30 questions, all of them were the same 4.) And sometimes it gives the same question multiple times in a row, which is even more useless.

Would be nice if there were a way in Guitario to report bugs like that.

Like I said, it has a lot of potential and if they can fix the bugs it would be great.

Awesome App! Needs a few more options!

Guitario is awesome and you guys have done a great job on it. Super efficient and really cool graphics!

There are two things I wish you all could add however!

1: Show the 12th fret. I sometimes “count down” to the note but it’s difficult to visualize that when it’s not there.

1.1: This would take a bit longer but also being able to get quizzed passed the 12th fret! Although it’s the same pattern it can still trip anyone up. The “dots” are different, the frets are smaller, etc. This would be helpful for solos/scales!

2: The ability to test on ONLY natural notes. This would help with people starting out. Once you nail these you can easily sharpen or flatten notes.

Please please please add these options! Other than that, great job! Loving Guitario . Look forward to more updates to come.

Nice app with room for improvement

I have used Guitario for 72 hrs and I have to say that I quickly learned the fretboard in a hurry, how ever, their quizzes and practice cessions can greatly improve ti make them last longer and increase its degree of difficulty according to ones progress. If Guitario would become the “Mavis Beacon” of guitar learning. It would be the # 1 in the market

Fun, effective fretboard learning

Great help for learning your notes, and the game aspect keeps it interesting and challenging. 4 stars only because it won't rotate when you flip it over, which is annoying for charging reasons. And also why in the world is the only music it plays on this guitar fretboard app from a banjo?

Good trainer

It's early since I downloaded. I think it'll help me memorize quite a bit. I wish Guitario would incorporate a few more types of challenges. It seems like there is only one way to do it. Also, it'd be easy and helpful to include a few articles on fretboard theory.

Excellent memory tool!!!

So much more fun completing the exercises to memorize notes on the fret board, rather than staring at a chart of notes on a piece of paper! Perfect for adult and children guitar beginners. Thank you to the writers of software for Guitario from someone who hates memorizing. You rock big time!!!!

10 min a day!

Quickly getting to know my fretboard while associating notes with pitch. Only giving 4 stars because the music that it plays when you are at Guitario 's home screen is annoying.

Great App!!!

I enjoy practising using Guitario at my convenient time. It has chords of most songs hindi and English That makes it even more fun I’ve had a great experience using Guitario Highly recommend to you all :)

Effective but flawed

This has been a useful approach to learn the fretboard, but the two standard, and only, learning modes become dull after a while. What I would find much more useful is the ability to drill a single string, or a region of the fretboard, with a "free play" mode that doesn't end when you make a mistake.

Needs more options

Excellent App! It would be better if there were options for certain pets of the fretboard or certain strings only. Still - 5 stars!

Great Tool to Help Learn

I’ve been looking for something to practice my fretboard mastery while the guitar is inaccessible and this was exactly what I was looking for. Kind of wish it was a little more customizable with how I was playing, but for now, great little tool.

Ez use

Love it!!

Guitario is amazing! I’ve been on it for about two years and it is great for beginners or advanced. It is super interactive and I love the shots feature! I would totally recommend this to any musician.

Great little app

I play guitar since I was 14, now I am 39. This was by far the best way to learn all the notes on your front porch. Before this approach I did not know all the notes. Thank you for the sweet little app.

Perfectly simple and effective

Nothing fancy but Guitario absolutely helped me learn the notes on the fretboard in a fun and simple format. If you ever wanted to learn the notes on the fretboard, the will be the best $2 you've ever spent.

a pretty good app

It's lacking bar recognition and some other small, but very important features. I don't know all the names, but I know I use them on guitar and can't really tweak the song into the right bpm. for writing down ideas real quick so you can later write it on the PC, if you are forgetful like me, is ideal. Cause I do wish I could also write down more melodically correct tunes. right now it's just a little better from recording it.

Cheers me up on top of being helpful

Everyday Guitario gives songs it believes you might enjoy. It’s fun to switch through them and be surprised by what you get. It’s a great way to make learning chords and chord progressions more fun. I remember when Guitario used to cost an arm and a pick but now that it’s free I highly recommend it.

Best way to earn a living

I play cover sets on guitar and vocals weekly and Guitario makes that job so much easier. So many wonderful parts that make Guitario so efficient. I can easily take requests now instead of fearing how to transpose certain tunes or wondering how accurate the chords and lyrics are. 10/10!

thanks a lot!

It works! finally an app which can teach you notes on the guitar in the best way possible. huge improvement on the note location in my case. just one thing if the fretboard could be a bit bigger to clearly see the strings frets and notes.
