Only shows ships position when actively reporting to AIS. Doesn't seem to remember last reported position for very long so the ship is off the map more than it is on. Cannot search for a ship by name and find on the map... you only get a numeric lat and long... not very useful. Ship disappears when zooming out. This means you need to know exactly where the ship is before you can zoom in enough to find out where the ship is. Other free apps seem to do a better job than TrackaShipUniversal that I paid for.

This is an amazing tool to locate a ship in a coverage zone of ocean/ sea by the identities we know about the ship. TrackaShipUniversal has nice design and works smooth, accurate information, easy to track ships. I'm not in the industry any more but find it great to keep an eye on "my ship""

TrackaShipUniversal does not function at all. It is a complete waste of money.

Purchased full version and it is really interesting for ships in the local waters, but falls down with cruise ships of interest by being days behind or not finding the ship at all (Grandeur of the sea, Celebrity Reflection, Brilliance of the sea, etc). It also seems to just drop out periodically. That being said, when it does work, most of the time, it seems to be interesting and useful. Depends on your needs as to whether it is worth 6 bucks.
