Scholastic Book Fairs Reviews

ScholasticBookFairs was only ever mediocre. The overall look and feel of ScholasticBookFairs is tired - colors and graphics are dated and the interface just seems old. Glitchy and slow, ScholasticBookFairs often seizes up and requires a hard reboot of my phone to get going again. Search results rarely match the actual search criteria entered. The best feature, in my opinion as a Book Fair Chairperson, is the scanning tool which I use to keep track of popular book titles and restock my Fair. However, even that feature is now broken requiring tedious manual searches for book titles to see if they’re available (also, see my previous comment about search capabilities.) There doesn’t seem to be a way to contact Scholastic and let them know they’re falling down on the job and I can only hope this review makes its way to the appropriate people.

I’ve been volunteering and chair person for our district’s book fairs for years now. ScholasticBookFairs is so helpful for restocking - when it works. I’m currently in the book fair at our school and I try to scan a book to reorder it and the ISBN isn’t even in the database. So frustrating. I have lost count how many times this has happened to us since last spring (5 book fairs so far) when we started using ScholasticBookFairs .
Please fix it!! Thank you!!

We’ve been using ScholasticBookFairs in a 1:1 iPad environment for the last 3 years. As others have posted: app was extremely glitchy, outdated and the search criteria results didn’t match the displayed items. In addition, a save button was transparent so if you didn’t know it was there you could not continue. However... the latest update has made everything worse!

If students open ScholasticBookFairs on their device in landscape ScholasticBookFairs will only show a portion of the screen, the “favorites” star doesn’t appear.

TO FIX: swipe out of ScholasticBookFairs , delete ScholasticBookFairs , reinstall, hold the device in portrait position, lock the orientation and reinstall ScholasticBookFairs .

Students can no longer scan the cover of the book?! So now students are taking books off the shelves, placing on the floor and trying to scan the barcodes on the back? Really Scholastic? What users do you have in mind when you are redesigning your app?

It’s good and It gets a bit of books for me but it doesn’t let you download the library book. Please add more

Horrible. I got a coupon from my sons school if I order off ScholasticBookFairs I would get $5.00 off. Well my sons school was not showing up. I could not select his book fair. Also all the books I wanted to order would not allow me to add them to the cart just the wish list. I had a hard time finding books because when I put the title I. It would show every other book except the one I wanted. Tried finding spirit riding free. Nothing.

I downloaded ScholasticBookFairs to purchase books and it had so many hoops to jump thru EVERY TIME you use it. You have to enter birthdate, choose school, then email and password and then the quantities were always wrong. I had a coupon to use if I ordered thru ScholasticBookFairs . After dealing with ScholasticBookFairs for two days, it wasn’t worth the $5 I was going to save. So I just bought the books in person. 😩🙄

I think ScholasticBookFairs has a lot of cool books that you can learn about ,
and it’s good that I can look and watch videos on the books I want to read!!!!

This is the worst app I have ever encountered. Initially it was almost impossible to download ScholasticBookFairs , I made several attempts to do so (just so I could use a five dollar coupon from the book fair). When I finally was able to obtain ScholasticBookFairs , none of the packs that my children wanted were available. I recommend just buying from your child’s school or ordering online. ScholasticBookFairs is a huge time waster!

Very disappointing! I wanted to buy a box set for my son that is on the scholastic website, but the same options are not available through ScholasticBookFairs. There is not a very large selection whatsoever. I am extremely disappointed as the two should offer the same books and box sets.

The only reason I use ScholasticBookFairs is for the restock option, and this time around, the crashes have made even that simple thing very difficult. It will crash and close. It will also freeze to the point that I need to power off my phone. Very disappointed.

First when I opened ScholasticBookFairs , I had to tap around 10 ten times to get to the scanning page. And my touchscreen was working just fine in other apps. Anyways, I finally got to the scanning page. It took forever to scan my book and find it's info. In short, DO NOT DOWNLOAD ScholasticBookFairs!!! IT'S A WASTE OF YOUR TIME!

I put the wrong date one time “ask your parents to help you” I did that exact thing,she didn’t know what to do everyone got frustrated.I couldn’t buy the book because ONE mistake trying for six hours DO NOT buy ScholasticBookFairs my coupons weren’t even working.

Downloaded ScholasticBookFairs after it was apparently updated for the videos to work, and I am getting an error message and the video won’t play. Frustrating.

Yeah, it works! To all ya’ll haters I only hate the apps selection of books. As a reader (currently reading “A Dog’s Life”), I love ScholasticBookFairs.

If your you setup e-wallet with book fairs and DO NOT use the money, Scholastics will take the money out of your account then refund you within 48 hours.
