Upgrade a huge step backwards

I really like KnivesIllustrated until the latest upgrade. It looks nicer now but now it’s really hard to navigate.

The latest magazine issue is available (I received my alert) but I can’t find it in the new app so I am unable to read it.

Not sure why companies feel compelled to upgrade things that already work just fine. Especially when the end result is a less user friendly experience.

Slow, slow

Update is definitely is not an improvement but step backwards. Very slow to load and a bizarre format.

Great mag. Lots of notices

Would have given a 5 star for the mag and content. Just get so many ad notices.

Awful Offline Content

Great content, horrible app. Offline availability of purchased content is way too restrictive. Awful!

Annoying..

KnivesIllustrated loaded fine every time.. Until I bought an issue. Now it crashes every time I start it. I paid $3.99 for an issue that I never got, because as soon as the payment was authorized, KnivesIllustrated crashed.

So basically, please fix this, as I’d really like to get what I paid for.

Until then, my advice is to AVOID KnivesIllustrated at all costs. The magazine might cost a few dollars more (and in my case, the closest place that gets it is an hours travel each way), but at least you get to read it that way.

DO NOT USE THIS APP

Has anyone informed Beckett Media LLC that this is the 21st century and that no one uses Commodore 64s anymore? After constant crashes, KnivesIllustrated no longer displays anything besides a background. And it's not as if this is high-tech stuff. Here's the email address for complaints: customerservice@engagedmediamags

Can't download older magazines

For some reason KnivesIllustrated won't download older magazines, it just gets stuck on the pocket mag wait screen, I just hope that a future update might fix the problem :¯\_(ツ)_/¯:

Just okay

The magazine is an okay resource with some good articles, although the writing can seem limited, amateurish, and unsatisfying--compared to other information resources.

I find the knife-oriented YouTube channels are much more in-depth in technical commentaries, and often have multiple commentaries available on the same knives by multiple commentators (with their unique perspectives from their different backgrounds). There is more passion and timeliness in the YouTube articles too. A video review of a knife from every angle is so much more informative than a few stagnant pretty pictures and several column inches of text.

So, this magazine is like an old Swiss Army knife. It is useful and reliable, but it is a bit outdated and easily surpassed by the wow-factor of other modern knives. It can't match the presentation and resources of digital media--like the knife-oriented channels on YouTube.

Crashes

KnivesIllustrated will not open. Crashes every time. Wish I'd known that before buying three editions of the magazine.
