Unnecessary!

2024-12-16

I bought a Max Buzz for my children, only to find out that they need to be connected via VirginPulseGlobalChallenge. We followed the steps, attempted to sign up, only to be told that we now need to wait to be contacted by someone from Virgin Pulse Global Challenge. This seems like a silly, unnecessary step, when my children only wanted to count their steps and tell the time.
If I had known this, I would have not have bought this Max Buzz.

Awful

2024-12-16

I updated and it keeps telling me I need to update. I can’t open VirginPulseGlobalChallenge and scan my steps. Guess all bugs not fixed.

Another app that does the same thing. Useless.

Fail

Won’t connect to program network

Overly ambitious, worst app ever.

2024-12-16

First, I love the idea of getting this much people to come together to better themselves with friendly competition. Having said that, this is the worst step counter I have ever seen and VirginPulseGlobalChallenge itself is overly ambitious with all the little details but very poor execution because you can pretty much put any number you want in your step count entry as long as it's on manual. That's just like playing god mode on a video game, meaning where's the fun in that?
The device itself is cheaply made and will start counting 5 to 10 steps as soon as you touch it. It only shows the step count, which is fine because we got it for free but it needs to be a lot better than that, especially for someone who's actually trying to be more active. Don't sneeze if you're holding this in your hand, as it will either give you 50-80 steps from just sneezing or restarting your step count to zero, if you happen to be covering the restart button (that's in the front of the interface). Trust me on this one as it had done both on me on two separate occasions.
If they don't try to fix this before the end of the competition, they're going to be known as one of the biggest marketing fail in history.

Nearly useless

2024-12-16

The company I work for is participating in the GCC challenge and so I downloaded VirginPulseGlobalChallenge for tracking. Unfortunately about all VirginPulseGlobalChallenge is good for is showing you metrics that you've entered from the GCC user dashboard website! There's NO integration with either Apple's HealthKit or the Apple Watch I have! The Apple Watch is one the most advanced fitness trackers on the market yet they don't have support for it?! I'm going to be forced to use their primitive "Pulse" fitness tracker, which is basically just a pedometer. So all my health metrics will have to be entered MANUALLY for this challenge.
Oh and VirginPulseGlobalChallenge 's UI looks like garbage because they couldn't be bothered to update it for my 6s Plus screen size... why a new app wouldn't support current device screen sizes is beyond me. If VirginPulseGlobalChallenge isn't updated to take advantage of the Watch soon, I might just delete it off my iPhone because it isn't really useful in ANY way.

Don't update

2024-12-16

I was excited to try the GCC app this year. Last year I had an older phone that was not supported. It seems like I'm stuck with the web version though. VirginPulseGlobalChallenge crashes all the time and the update we just got makes it impossible to click things on the main dashboard. Click to read details about current location? Crash. Attempt to complete heart age? Crash. Try to click to view my profile? Doesn't work. Go to step entry and I just see "In 2014 I can...". I'm rather disappointed.

Step entry is broken

2024-12-16

When you go to enter steps, it shows the correct day on the list under "missed days", but when you tap on the day you need to enter steps for (the only day on that list) it shows the day before instead. So if you enter steps for the day before like the interface says and hit submit, it shows the original days again! It does now allow you to correct it either. This is totally useless. I guess they don't care.

HealthKit integration needs improvement

2024-12-16

App is okay, but if I do an hour of Pilates which HealthKit recognizes, VirginPulseGlobalChallenge should convert that time into steps. They give me a conversion chart on the website, but really? I have to convert it every time into steps manually?

Account

2024-12-16

I just got one and it says I need and account with a team member and I don’t have that plz help

Only good for step entry...

2024-12-16

The dashboard doesn't scroll away from whatever random world location I'm 'at' despite showing five dots indicating I should be able to swipe... And as I'm trying to enter my steps, I can't access the Submit button for 30 seconds as a bunch of badge notifications obscure it. I am happy that they can now pull my steps from Fitbit, super helpful.

App is good but crashes

2024-12-16

VirginPulseGlobalChallenge typically works well for step entry, although sometime upon entry it shows wrong date. My team is hardcore (like everyone's ha) and I enter my steps first thing daily but sometimes have to go to website to do it, which is inconvenient since I already have VirginPulseGlobalChallenge . I also participated in 2013 GCC. Same app/same phone, I noticed that in that in 2013, there was option to filter for your tracked teams, like the ones you put bulls eye icon on from website. It would also be nice if the more of the challenges could be incorporated into VirginPulseGlobalChallenge ...weight tracker crashes and doesn't show progress & then some of the items like interacting on GCC forum/social media doesn't work, when it seems like it should be enabled for people using VirginPulseGlobalChallenge . Other than that, I love participating in GCC, and I like the new stops at the creepy abandoned places. Thanks!

Decent app but lots missing

2024-12-16

Most recent update disabled interaction on the dashboard; only thing to do is open the menu. The link outs to safari are a bit too frequent and unexpected. As other reviews say, it's a bit surprising that VirginPulseGlobalChallenge doesn't use my health, or just track steps itself as an option...that's a really easy api to incorporate.

It’s alright

2024-12-16

Not sure how to update items that have a red notification number near them. Not the most self explanatory app. But if you have enough understanding of apps you can find your way through it.

Well written app

2024-12-16

A well written app that provides necessary information at a good speed. New messages and updates are quick and noninvasive. Overall, the user-friendliness of VirginPulseGlobalChallenge is very high and that helps to ensure its usage.
