Pathon has the features for which I was looking. However, it is frustrating to use. First, when saving work and then trying to re-open an image for additional editing, the original unmodified image appears, not the one with my work to date. Also, to add multiple areas of text, one has to finish and save one modification, then import the modified image from one's photo album -- not from saved work on Pathon -- to add another area of text. Thirdly -- this may be my ignorance -- I cannot figure out how to write a line of text on a lower circle and have it read upright, left to right. I have to swipe an arc down there, and work with that, which inevitably keeps my image from achieving perfect symmetry. Pathon is so buggy it is almost no longer worth the time it's taking to operate it. I hope the developers improve its operations.

I have been using Pathon for years, stopped using it for two years, and when I come back to use it, it’s frustrating to find so much bugs. When trying to save a work, it says “ Pathon does not have access to your photos”... No matter what you do ir where you look, it doesn’t appear to dix it manually. I’ve uninstalled and installed it again, and the default installation features should give it direct access to save pictures. It doesn’t. Deserves 5 stars, but all the bugs have eaten at least have of those stars...

Love Pathon but I have too many issues with it. Like others have said there are the common issues with text spacing coming out inconsistent and the lack of opacity or shadowing being next to nonexistent. But by far my biggest problem is that when I go back into a project to edit it, my text shows on the preview page but is completely invisible to me once editing. I can tell it's still there, it still offers predictive words that let me know it's seeing my text but the text is invisible to me. Kind of an important thing. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The features are exactly what I was looking for but Pathon is so buggy it takes a while to create exactly what you're going for. MAIN ISSUES: cursor rarely aligns with character selection, no opacity setting for text, no shadow coloring options, character spacing is glitchy, text often disappear from cropped images - I found myself having to start from scratch often. Maybe in an update or two my main gripes will be resolved. Overall I would try another app. Or just use a computer.

Okay look Pathon it self isn’t that bad but it does have a few problems;
One: it doesn’t work on iPad mini 4 at least for me I tried twice and it always goes to a black screen or it immediately just kicks me out of Pathon (I use Pathon on my phone now)
Two: depends what picture you’re doing and how much space you have but sometimes where you put your txt you either have to make the writing smaller or make a bigger line and you can even adjust the line of it is too small unless I just haven’t figured it out yet
Three: you can save to your camera roll but it doesn’t save to the actual app
Four: Pathon is glitchy and horrible format
Five: overall Pathon is a 6/10 the fonts are good though

You can only draw the path ONCE then either undo/retry, or go pick a premade shape... you're able to move and rotate the path but no actual curve or point editing that I've been able to find. It has a set of Instagram style filters (better than Instagram), but I wish instead they'd added the ability to actually edit the path and adjust it so this could be as useful as possible.
Right now it's kinda like a quick fix for when you don't have Illustrator, but leaves you wishing for that one bit of control that's missing.

This could easily become 5 star and dominate for adding special text while I'm mobile (for both work and for fun). It just needs editable path mode, and better color picker.

I have an oval logo image I was hoping to add my contact information to for my business. I was hoping Pathon would make it quick and easy. The only option other than line and circle is draw. I can’t draw a straight curve with my finger to save my life! I couldn’t elongate the circle to make it an oval shape either. Great idea, but not so easy to manipulate. Now I have to wait for my graphic designer to do the task for me.

..but it could definitely be better, for all the reasons other users have explained. I use it on my iPhone and iPad and it FREQUENTLY crashes (it just happened 3 times in a row, which is why I finally decided to write a review). I love Pathon for the basic reasons, but I'm so sick of it crashing. It might be worth your time to check it out for all of its good qualities.

Get your work right the first time, because if you save it and reopen it, it will delete whatever text you have entered.

Also, when you do "paragraph" text, it decides on a random width for the text box, and you're stuck with whatever it decides.

Would have been great, but developer doesn't seem to care.

I agree with another review that there needs to be a straight line option. I don't always want my text to have undulations.
Also I would like to see a way to grab the handles of a previously drawn line.

Wished I had bought it earlier.
The problems in the comments and feedback? I have none of them. The only thing I would want is to have alternating colors for the text. But hey, I do have another app that has that option.

This is a superb text on photo application. Few, if any, other apps of this kind can match it for pure functionality and ease of use. This is definitely one of those "go to" applications. I highly recommend it.

I've never been thrilled with text on photos. It always looked like an after thought to me. However I am now absolutely hooked on Pathon because it makes my thoughts and comments an integral part of the work.

I previously gave us app a three 🌟🌟🌟star rating because it would not work on my iPhone 12 pro max. As of this writing Pathon suddenly started working so I’m revising my rating from three stars to definitely five stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I haven't had this much fun using an app since, well, since forever. Works great. Admittedly, I've only been using it for about an hour, but I can already tell it rocks! You gotta love an app that lets you explore your creativity in new and unique ways.

Pathon is like a multi-dimensional friendship - once you figure out all the layers - it’s a rewarding exchange! I use Pathon a lot, appreciate the diversity of font, the clarity of instruction and the consistency of performance. I have observed the developers making continual improvement. It is one of my favorite tools.

I love Pathon. You can be very creative with it. One thing I wish would change would be the ability to draw a line and write in one spot and be able to add another line and change the font in another spot. I do very much love Pathon. I have been laying with it all day.

I actually found an app that does exactly what I want it to do as well as a lot I haven't thought of before. It makes what I use it for that much more imaginative and interesting. The choices of fonts is amazing. I really like the hud. It's easy to use. Thanks for making it!!!- -
I wrote this review quite a while ago and I mean revisiting it after an update it still stands!

Mostly this is Pathon I use to label my pictures before posting on internet. You do have to go back to your ‘home’ for each picture, and it is a bit slow. However the ease of use makes up for the extra seconds waiting time. Love the fonts, sizing and text color features.

After trying lots of text-on-photo app's and being disappointed in varying degrees it was refreshing to stumble upon this one.

It works quite well with smooth flowing text among the curved lines, other app's that I've tried have disappointed me mainly in this area. Most will follow a line with awkwardly positioned letters that don't seem to "flow" like Pathon does.

Strong app for the graphics artist type, possibly the best on Pathon Store.
