Crappy app

The articles are interesting but ScientificAmericanMind is an exercise in frustration. I signed up last August for six issues. I have only received five issues but got automatically renewed and billed for another six issues. If you click on ScientificAmericanMind , you have to log in each time to access your previous issues and/or see if the new issue has arrived. Doesn’t seem to be an option for auto download.

Never automatically uploads new issue

Ever issue it fails to
Allow access to the most recent . I always go through a password reset.
Poor " scientific mind" app writing.
How ironic. Will likely stop subscribing.
This is where I would most certainly imagine that app developers and administrators and marketers for such journals would surely be able to conclude that this is not technology applied .
Why not beta test?
Why not fix this... this is a common problem among my colleagues who also subscribe.
Revealing of editor/publisher- marketing sales disconnect. Glad it's not an operating room or space station mission!

Hott

You’remo app isn’t customers friendly too comhott

can't download past issues

I paid for the subscription, that includes past issues, but only latest issue is available.

Very convenient

I had forgotten I had a subscription but was able to log on and download my issues. ScientificAmericanMind makes it easy to read what I want and being electronic I can look up what I don't understand. Once I knew how to get at the main menu, it was easy to skip around different articles and issues.

Always says I have to pay for issues

Even though ScientificAmericanMind says I am logged in I have to sign out and sign back in or else it says I am not authorized to view magazines. Most annoying.

Misleading

I subscribed believing I had access to past issues. Now i don't. I've sent in a message through their contact us and have not heard anything back. Disappointed

Poor performance!

One of the worst performing apps I've ever tried. Issues aren't available, they don't download, etc. They've been this way for years. It's like they don't even care.

Lousy, Can't log in or get latest issues

Doesn't reflect my subscription for the last few issues so I tried to log out to see if it would reset ScientificAmericanMind content, now I can't log in to the app. Keeps telling me they are having technical difficulty and to try again later only to have the same message again and again for several weeks now. Very frustrating. This is not he first time either that I've had trouble. ScientificAmericanMind seems to have some serious issues updating and syncing content. Over two months I have sent several emails and place calls to support. None of my emails were ever replied to. The only time time a received an email was after I had spent a considerable amount of time with support. They then emailed saying they had reset my account and to reply if there were any issues. I had the same issue as before and replied to their email and again no response. -- Update....Today I decided to try changing my password through the main webpage (which I have had no difficulty logging in to) and then deleted and reinstalled ScientificAmericanMind and logged in with the new password. This worked! Amazingly I had to figure out this simple solution on my own. In the end it took over three months to resolve this problem and all my emails were ignored.

Good Magazine, Very Bad App and Website

What good is a subscription to an eMagazine if you can't download issues in ScientificAmericanMind without buying them again, when you try to log into the website it won't let you see more than the first paragraph of an article (or even the contents of the issue) despite telling you you have a valid subscription, the online User's Guide is useless, and every link on every page leads back to another subscription or buy the issue offer.

Save your money and just get the paper version if you want it. What a joke that "Scientific" American is not capable of mastering the same technology that fashion magazines have been successfully using for years!

What a fraud!

The magazine is worthwhile but the iPad version is worthless. There's zero customer support and it's a nightmare trying to download issues - especially when you're trying to restore purchases. It won't download in the background and most of the time even when I'm sitting in front of my iPad glaring at the screen it will download an issue sloooooowly almost to completion and then revert to a place a third of the way down the progress bar with a message saying it can't be downloaded at this time, try again later. It's an endless exercise in frustration. Too bad I can't give ScientificAmericanMind zero stars.

No longer works after 0S 8

ScientificAmericanMind is no longer working after apple's latest update. I have deleted and downloaded a second time. Same problem. It gives you an error when you try to download the latest issue.
Anyone else having the same problem?

iOS8 App does not work

My entire intention in subscribing was foiled by the failed App. I signed up Sept 22 and ScientificAmericanMind still does not work. Love the "magazine" but can't read it! Very, very frustrating esp. that a large population relies heavily on working apps to read periodicals like this in a mobile way. Even more frustrating that customer service was so uninformed about getting it resolved. You'd think SA would have a greater sense of urgency about getting this fixed. 1star for poor customer service, not keeping subscribers informed of status and not having this issue resolved by now.

Love it !!

Finally, some useful and interesting articles to read online :) instead of browsing brainlessly through my newsfeed, I can now learn all about the mind with just a few clicks and swipes .. A wealth of information is right at my fingertips and I couldn't be happier :)

Took my money and didn’t give me a subscription

I purchased this magazine via iTunes one year ago and have never had access to ScientificAmericanMind to be able to read it. Scientific American Mind blames iTunes and iTunes blames Scientific American Mind. Neither company has offered a refund or a hard-copy subscription - they just continue to expect me to jump through hoops. As much as I enjoy this magazine, I won’t buy it again and I won’t buy a subscription to any other magazine via iTunes. This debacle has cost both companies a customer.
