Would be ideal if stable. The more titles you add to the library, the more chance that it crashes when you actually try to open one. Very hard to keep a library of things you reference frequently when you are wiping it clean and re-installing every other month.

It's one of few comic reader apps that have the option to have two pages onscreen.

App keeps crashing each time I try to open!

Crashes every time I use it on my iPad. 9.3.5 version.

When I first started using ComicStorm, I had no problems! It was very easy to download comics from the internet or other sources such as Dropbox and google drive. And once downloaded (which didn't take long at all!) the picture was very clear and easy to read. The format of ComicStorm is easy to navigate and it is easy to figure things out without a manual.

However, it soon began crashing and force closing, often as soon as I opened it or tried to open a comic. I am not sure if this is because of ComicStorm or because my iPod is several years old, but I have no had this problem with other apps. I have tried deleting it and re downloading it, but without much success.

My friend who recommended it to me has not had this problem, so I would still recommend it for reading comics or other .cbr files.

If ComicStorm had an organization of the manga pages for the books, that would be awesome since when you open the download from safari, it puts it in a random order so it's kind of irritating when you are trying to read it and you either start on the 5th page instead of the 1st and the 2nd page isn't where it suppose to be, etc.
If there can be an update to get that fixed, that would be great!!! Other than that, love ComicStorm !! 😍

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this reader. It has almost all the features I wanted if I knew how to program! Page navigation is smooth and simple. Share feature is awesome and even has the crop option built in. Has integration with Dropbox and a bunch of others cloud storage provider. Very thoroughly thought out.

The only thing I would add is the option to enable edge swiping so I don't have to zoom out to go to the next page since I have the scroll option on. Also the sensitivity when scroll option is off is a little too much which is why I turn it on.

Until this last update (1.8.1) this was my preferred comic book reader. But as a previous review states, the full page iAds which crop up randomly do not reliably go away even when you click on the ad: the only way to get rid of them is to close the program and restart, which is annoying. Also, now there is a bug in the delete function, where deleted comics remain in the listing until the program is restarted. All in all, this current update is not ready for prime time.

Frankly, I'd much rather have the option of a paid version of ComicStorm instead of fighting the iAds.

It's really good, the only minus is that it doesn't turn page when in zoom. That's a pity. It should turn page, keep the zoom, and go to the top of the next page. Also I would like the zoom to work automatically to the comic width.

The rest is just perfect.

It used to be great. Then for some reason the developers decided to change everything about it. Before, I used to open a folder with 1 click and open a comic with 1 click. Now I have to click and confirm for everything, and the icons are not intuitive. To open a folder, I have to click on the folder. Then I have to click on a ‘book’ icon to confirm that I want to open it.

Not to mention all of the organization got screwed up. Lots of missing comics, the ones that I have are randomly in folders and in the main screen. This has got to be the worst update in the history of app updates.

So ComicStorm could easily earn 4/5 stars. What keeps it from doing so for me is the meat of what ComicStorm is for... reading comics. When reading a high res comic you need to zoom in, which ComicStorm does well. The issue comes when you want to go to the next page. Rather than letting you turn pages like normal you have to zoom back out, turn the page, then zoom back in. This is very cumbersome and other comic reader apps do this much better (and some without ads).

ComicStorm is the best manga app out there for people that want to read manga with out a wifi connection just download your favorite on the computer and add to ComicStorm through ITunes it's fast simple and works great has some issues on selecting rectangle shaped reads but other then that total gold no limit to how much you can add accept what space you have on your phone or I device

ComicStorm is perfect for reading .cbr files. I'm currently using it to read the entire Batman comic series starting with Year One and ending on the Dark Knight Returns. It is perfect to have my comics on my iPhone ready to read anywhere on the go. The integration with Dropbox and other cloud storage providers is what I really love about ComicStorm, it makes it so easy to get your comics onto your iPhone or iPad.

Been using ComicStorm for quite a while, but with iOS 8 if you attempt to go beyond the last page or before the first it crashes (I know, Apple's don't crash). Mildly annoying, but still love ComicStorm .

Everything seems to once again working great!

Uploaded several comics and short stories seamlessly via Dropbox.

My only complaint is the inability to lock zoom levels. It's quite annoying to zoom in and out on every page for comics with smaller font. I have an iPad mini however, so this may not be an issue for other models with larger displays.

ComicStorm is exactly what I was looking for. I use my desktop pc to upload .cbr files to Dropbox, then on my iphone I can read them anywhere. From inside Dropbox I click on .cbr and at the bottom "Open in..." and choose Comics Storm. All there is to it, no fluff, no ads, no crashes. 5 stars to the programmer.

Look I don't mind the ads, they're not that intrusive and hey, you deserve to be paid for what is a really good app. BUT, can you please fix it so the ads don't freeze and crash ComicStorm every single time they're displayed? If it weren't for that I'd give ComicStorm 5 stars but having to re-open ComicStorm after crashing, re-open the book I was reading, go back to the page I was reading.. It's a pain.

I have been using Comic Storm since I have had an iPod. I understand the need for ad revenue. However, the use of video is very intrusive and loud. The first time it popped up with no warning was in the middle of the night, I was half asleep relaxing and my gf was sleeping. I don't mind helping pay upkeep for one of the best apps out there, however intrusive advertising is unacceptable. Disappointed you took this route with your business and loyal users.

wish it had up and down scroll function without snapping pages to the screen of each page, so I can read pages continuously in largest scale.

I always liked ComicStorm, though I preferred an earlier version. I liked how the earlier version handled sub-grouping and the visual layout better.

ComicStorm quit working entirely for over a month once iOS 11 came out. It took that long to get an update of ComicStorm to work in the newer iOS. Now there is the newest version and it seems to sort of work.

Frustratingly all the books I had loaded to read on it, no longer show up when I start the newer app version. Not sure if this is due to the change from the much older version I used or from the new app to work under iOS 11. It lost all of the sub-categories I had created and I can’t access any of the books loaded on my iPad any longer that were in these sub-headings. This includes which books I read and still have yet to read and any modifications I made to the titles.

I originally liked ComicStorm, but due to how long it took to get an app that worked in the newer iOS plus that I can’t read any of the comics on the tablet, I’m going to try another reader. I’ll probably find one that is purchasable, in the hopes that they keep up on newer modifications as they come out. Was horrible when I loaded iOS 11 and ComicStorm just quick working entirely.

Won’t allow access to the 120GB of books on my tablet. Hoping deleting it will open that space back up since that is half the size of my total available.

This is a good basic reader but be prepared you may lose its functionality when you update the iOS periodically. Even though I am no longer using it and frustrated, I still gave it three stars for its past performance.
