    Not usable

    This app is terrible. It is extremely slow to login and slow to load contacts but worst of all it logs you out when you background the app for too long. Need to respond to a couple text messages? Oh, well, you’re logged out because you backgrounders this app! Need to make a phone call or take one? Too bad, you’re logged out of this app. It’s completely ridiculous and I have yet to run into any other chat app that does this.

    No longer works after update.

    The latest update no longer connects to our server. This product was very buggy to begin with.

    It’s been a month since I couldn’t login and I been using this app for 4 years.

    Functionality needs work

    The app works perfectly fine up until the phone is locked. Once locked, Sametime disconnects and you have to exit the app and re-open to connect again. Basically defeats the purpose of having an away status available.

    Don’t get me wrong I absolutely am a huge fan of IBM but this app os horrible! It is constantly crashing, app dose one thing when you tell it do do something ells, has a mind of its own. I communicate with a co-workers around the globe and many times we resort to using whatApp because one of us can’t seem to show the other user we are online. And if you are not online it won’t let you send a message. Also when you type the keypad takes up 50% of the screen 10% to let you know they are typing, and 10% their name, leaves what feels like 30% of chat room. IBM seriously need to spend more time on app development. I would say this is the IBM BUGGED UP APP!

    Works beautifully if you have the right server installed

    For all those complaining it doesn't work or notifications don't work - that's not IBM, that's your server infrastructure. The right version of Sametime configured correctly works with this app beautifully. You need Sametime Community Server v8.5.2 IFR1 and Sametime Proxy Server, as well as a DB2 database working with the Proxy for notifications. If it doesn't work for you, go talk to your IT department and verify if they have the system requirements in place.

    Doesn't work on iPhone 6

    My friends who have older devices are still able to use this app (which hasn't had the name changed from Sametime), but I'm running the application with the same proxy and port as they are and getting bad results. It imports new cut group names, but doesn't delete old ones. It disconnects my connection on other devices and shows me as available, but doesn't show any other users as being online and doesn't send me the messages they type.

    Doesn't support background mode

    I find it useful if you want to send a message, but as soon as you switch to any app, you are no longer able to receive messages until you open it again. Also, if you do not change the configuration about the time you remain online, someone might send you a message, but you will never receive it UNLESS you open the app. Messages sent are not visible when you log in to your computer.

    Well Done...

    The 9.0.1 release of the iOS app fixed the contacts issue. It now appears to work perfectly.. I am so very glad that IBM took the bug reports seriously and resolved the issue quickly. Many thanks... My faith is restored.

    Great update, much better visually, great work!

    This update contains a lot of better adjustments to the ui and ease of use. As someone on the road all the time this is a game changer. Just need to add persistency across desktop and mobile and we're all set!
