Yep, you must give them your personal information to use WeatherSentry. That means they are tracking company’s employees, can’t imagine who would find that kind of information of value. The company who is paying the employee? ...or a competitor???
Doesn’t matter how good they are, they have no more business with our personal information than the average “anonymous-user” app gleans on a daily basis.

Lightning and weather alert maps and services are a dime-a-dozen, and are even becoming FREE.
This service and charging for FREE information that is FREE from NOAA and NWS.
I HAVE ZERO INTEREST in being charged for something I already paid to the government to provide, information that developers glean from other websites, repackage, and sell yet again - and other apps for FREE. That’s the OLD DAYS!

If you are not aware of the level of this service and you spend a lot of time outdoors or supervise people outdoors I recommend you look into this company. They track every lightning strike in North America. This "app" is only a small piece of their technology. This is a service, yet not free is worth the cost if you are a company or corporation. Quite costly for an individual.
To the company: please add an iPad app. I feel as if this was in the works years ago. Please add one. I pay a lot to have the service. Reward loyal customers with an app specific for the iPad and in the short term at least make the iPhone app viewable on the iPad with normal dimensions. My iPad running the iPhone app cuts off part of the top and left of WeatherSentry for some reason.
Summary: awesome service. Great iPhone app. Develop the iPad app like promised a long time ago

In reading the previous reviews it appears the people not giving a high rating are people who do not subscribe to the PC version and they have no idea that WeatherSentry is an adjunct to the PC version to assist those of us who are out on the field of play as a profession. WeatherSentry is not for the person wanting to see what the weather is doing occasionally but for the use of Athletic Trainers, Stadium Supervisors, athletic event coordinators and people who have the interest of many people's safety out in public as a major concern. Thus the cost of the primary system is where the expense comes in and then WeatherSentry allows you to be outside observing the event and what the weather is doing and not inside sitting at a desktop.

As an athletic trainer for a high school my number one priority is the safety of my athletes. WeatherSentry is the extension of their website based program that is absolutely second to none. Used to be I relied on a lightning detector that gave me an approximate range of where a strike was. This however literally shows me Nearly LIVE stats on local strikes to within just a few seconds prior. Not only do I know EXACTLY where a stroke of lightning happened, I also know what type it is, it's intensity, etc... I also get text alerts giving me all clear information regarding the time for lightning moving out of area. This is an INVALUABLE life saver! GREAT WORK TELVENT!!!

WOW! Telvent has the best weather app in the market for precipitation and lightning alerting. Both the precipitation and lightning push alerting are very precise notifying time of impact, distance from current GPS position, and offering all clear push alerts. I have used while out boating and the precipitation alerts gave me 30 minutes lead time before arrival to allow me to get off the water before a squall line of thunderstorms arrived. It is a lifesaver app! For any person that values time spent outdoors, WeatherSentry is the best available even at the price point. Every outdoor sporting coach, trainer, and team should consider subscribing!

I'll start off positive with the fact that WeatherSentry does deliver a good deal of useful information quickly into your hands. It is accurate and dependable.
So why then the two star rating? Well there is not a way to turn off the push notifications without disabling WeatherSentry itself. If there is, well 6 of us at work trying to figure it out couldn't. I have gotten so many updates that I have come to hate WeatherSentry and and most likely going to go with another service. Here's my point. just a few minor showers around today and I have already recieved 17 updates from 8 am until 5:30pm.
I sad to say but it is a PITA! Maybe they'll get better as time goes by but until further updates, I'm trashing it.

MyWeather let us down, removing their lightning app before the new version was launched. WeatherSentry wants almost 3x as much a year & Bolt Lightning isn't near WeatherSentry of any of them. Sure I want Lightning Strike back but until then during the severe storm season, I'll use Lightning Finder!

Why has WeatherSentry not updated it's resolution? The iPhone 6 has been out for years and WeatherSentry is still on the iPhone 5 resolution.
