It’s exactly as I would expect. Works great on my iPhone 7. I have gotten through over 300 levels without getting bored because it slowly gets harder and harder, and there’s still hundreds more levels to play.

There are advertisements that pop up (it’s a free game so yea ads duh) and they are SUPER SUPER short, most of the time I don’t even have to click the GIANT x button in the corner of them because the game will close them for me almost immediately.

The changing background is fun too, the stars in the back is always really exciting to me and feels brand new each time. Would love to see more random backgrounds added btw.

I would also love control over the different audio elements, sometimes the power-up sounds feel a little aggressive. But these are suggestions make this game more perfect.

First off, this is a nearly perfect game. It is exactly what a "blocks" game should be. I have been playing it on and off for years, so there's all you need to know. Suddenly, about two weeks ago, the resolution changed or something and the game is larger than my screen, so I can't see the edges during game play. I'm in the 800's and would love to reach the end, but it's nearly impossible to play. Sadness...

UPDATE. Bay clicking on upper right hand corner (Store) in the screen that Play Now goes to, it unfreezes OldschoolBlocks . However, I lost all my history and am back to starting with Level 1. The developer obviously doesn’t care about these reviews or he'd have his contact information current so we can report issues. PRIOR REVIEW. App freezes on the first screen, the sales pitch. If you click on the Play Now button, it takes you to OldschoolBlocks Store which also freezes. App is totally non-functional now. I rebooted. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing fixes OldschoolBlocks. FYI, the link in OldschoolBlocks Store to the developer website goes to a website-for-sale screen.

Love this game, it plays well on my phone and has lots of levels. This is one of my favorite games!!

Reducing rating from 5 to 4 stars for two cosmetic issues that have been in this game for EVER. (1) The “select level” screen needs to actually scroll with a finger flip like most lists behave. It’s a long list, let’s get some inertia in there! (2) It would be nice if the game would remember my sound on/off settings between sessions — as is I have to reset it to silent every time. Minor complaints in an otherwise fun app.

I complete a level yet when it moves to the next they are locked. Having to replay same levels with no instructions to unlock further levels is boring.

It’s a fun game, but the death drops get so annoying, when you are trying to break lower blocks they are impossible to dodge and a few times I had 2 drop on each other making an instant game over. There are also a few game over glitches but they affect the gameplay in no way. Overall it isn’t what I was expecting in good and bad ways, but the good outweigh the bad. If you would make the instant death drops less common it would be much better.

It was a fun game up until about lvl 700 or so when you have to hit the blocks three times to clear them. Even worse, levels started getting recycled which is a bit lazy. Becomes more of a chore than a game. Other than that it was fun up until that happened. A couple of funny glitches to boot.

After 824 games on this this game app, it has worked perfect but all of a sudden the game must be larger than my phone screen. I can just barely see the blocks that appear to be mostly off the edge of my screen. The ball goes off the edge of the display then appears back on it in a different location. I have tried rebooting and everything I could think of to no avail.

When I was first introduced to simple computer games in the 1990’s, this type of game was my favorite...very satisfying! Glad to be able to play it again.

So you can’t see some of the blocks. The ball also travels off the edge of the screen and it is easy to miss hitting it back up because you can’t see it. The game play is rather meh. Moving the paddle by sliding your finger is not a great means of control. It does get 3 stars for not being filled with ads. Thanks for that.

Fun & simple to play. My only complaint is that you can’t collect the third star when it’s in the last remaining block. I just played 11 levels & 9 of them put the third star in the final block requiring me to replay the level.

I like the game just don’t like how getting the stars is a random action that you can’t control or earn by not losing. Could be better in that way especially if a skull drops at the same time as the star right on top of each other. It kinda ruins the fun. Like I said decent game though.

Great way to kill time while waiting for appointments. I’d love it even more if I could buy an ad free version—one is shown as an in app purchase but it is never offered.

I’ve been looking for an app like this everywhere and this one is perfect!

Tips: maybe add some rewards like custom balls or background. A cherry on the top you know haha

Frustrating that I have to go and press play on my music as it automatically pauses after each level pass.....other than that it’s just like the original game which is fun to play.

Have been enjoying this game, even on my small phone. There has been a few slow motion glitches in advanced rounds over 100 set range. Reminds of game of old on nintendo.

I enjoy playing this game. I challenge myself to get 3 stars on every level. The developer continues to add levels. This is my favorite iOS game.

This is a fun game that tests your reflexes. I’d love to play more, but I’ve been out of levels for months. I’d give it 5 stars if you added a lot more levels.

The game has played fine until this latest update. I tap on the level to play and the game crashes instantly. This is one of my favorite games so I hope this is fixed soon!
