Facely HD for Facebook + Social Apps Reviews

I downloaded FacelyHD because my FB app was crashing continuously. I was happy to see that FacelyHD seemed more stable and more user friendly. However, every time I open FacelyHD , it stops my music, or podcast or whatever else I happen to be listening to and won’t let me play it while FacelyHD is open.

So I can either use the FB app and deal with constant crashes or use this one and surf in silence.

This is terrible. Never made it past the login because FacelyHD kept freezing. I uninstalled and tried again, had lunch and tried again. Three hours later the same thing is happening. Never made it past the login. App uninstalled. Don’t waste your time.

Well I specifically downloaded FacelyHD to be able to upload pics from my iPad to my Facebook. I am by no means a noob when it comes to technology and can figure out about ANYTHING on computers and gadgets...eventually. It took me a bit to figure out how to add/upload pics. Duh. Looks like the only way is from the status update bar by pressing the little camera icon. I attempted it. Looked promising, I could add the title AND choose album. I sent it and it never showed up. Later, I used the chrome browser on the iPad to check it and the regular FB app to check and nothing. It DID say I had added 44 new pictures to an existing album but it did not show the new one. I'm just going to give it an hour, maybe it's still uploading? I'll gladly change my rating at a later time (if I can - I COULD) if FacelyHD begins to do the only thing I installed it for. UPDATE: Just tried again. Uploaded 2 pics, separately, don't see that there's a way to do more than one at a time, But have not looked for it. Did not TOUCH anything until got an upload confirmation and worked like a charm. Now...either I'm a dummy or theres not a way to tag with FacelyHD. Feel free to enlighten me if I'm wrong. Changed from 2 stars to 4 because of that.

Firstly, THANK YOU for providing a free version for test driving. I just got an iPad and I've been happy with Friendly but disappointed with it's load times so I'm checking around for another solution. However, Facely has some "neat" features, but I've deleted it now for a couple of reasons.
1. App crashes frequently, and yes I've done the reboot/delete/reinstall/reboot dance but problems continue on both iPad and iPhone4.
2. Although it looks great on my iPhone, why oh why does the header take up SOO much space on the iPad? This is one area where Facely could definintely learn from Friendly. Although Friendly has all the buttons Facely has (plus some additional useless buttons in their taskbar), it takes up less than 1/3 of the screen space of Facely! Nice app for iPhone (if it didn't crash all the time) but definitely not optimized for iPad. It's as if they simply scaled FacelyHD to iPad resolution, but if I wanted huge graphics I'd just run the official Facebook app in 2X mode...

I'm still hunting for a good iPad facebook app so I'll keep an eye on Facely, but for now it's a no-go.

I am not the type to hand out a 5star, but FacelyHD has thoroughly impressed me. It has never crashed on my iphone4 (AT&T). It is the closest thing to the actually iPhone FB app out there.
It has chats, checking, poking, push notifications that come in more reliably than the actual FB app. I can upload photos & videos. Chat even notifies you in a pop up notification when FacelyHD is closed & not running. You can change colors & lots of options.
The little things that need adding or tweaking are being fixed asap & if you join the facely FB group you can post questions & get ASAP answers.
I'm waiting for small things to come like: seeing friend's lists & a few other minor things. I have 2 accounts on FB so I have the free version & the paid. I've had friends add FacelyHD & they love it too!! Try it! Enjoy :))

So-So . I am not convinced yet I really like FacelyHD yet. It needs to show me that it can can do a little more for the money I payed for before I give it 5 stars. I owned it 2 days before it found itself in iCloud land. I put it in iCloud land because there is absolutely no instructions and for a person who is not computer or FB savvy it is a tad bit confusing how to navigate it . If you are looking for something to make your FB experience easier as far as organization like I was look somewhere else. Because as far as I can figure out , FacelyHD is just for chatting and nothing more. You have next to nothing for newsfeed . Very small . When you try to write to chat it's too big! Fix that please. But you get pluses for the pretty options , that's nice.

Problems getting back to your wall once you are in the notifications tab, or friends tab. Need to put a home button or back button on all of the pages, otherwise you have to hit the big Facebook word on top, go into edit profile or edit acct. and then you are taken to your wall. But it isn't the facely interface anymore. Its the Facebook wall. And it's a pain trying to get back to the facely interface.

Also keeps showing that I have 1 message. I've had FacelyHD for at least a month and have no messages, but their is still the number one indicating a message. Slightly annoying. Please fix these issues.

That being said, it is still a hundred times better than my pad for iPad. And it does occasionally crash, closing FacelyHD . I would also like to see a choice to "block app" so i dont have to scroll through a hundred notifications for games my friends are playing before i get to the signifigant posts that im interested in. Fix these issues and I'll give it 5 stars. Be honest, will these issues be resolved if I do the upgrade?

Have only had FacelyHD for ten minutes and I already like it 1000 times more than mypad for iPad. Just have to figure out how to upload new photos, create albums etc. will have to read the description better, those options may be in the paid version.

While the customization is nice, that's rather short lived and hardly important. The crashes seem to be growing more frequent instead if less, to view photos friends have posted/shared is almost impossible as it often gives up before the image ever loads (and with such horridly TINY images on the news feed you need them to load just to know what it is). What's done it in for be though, to which I'll be signing out of and deleting FacelyHD to find another -to upload images of your own is nearly impossible. There is no add button at all from within your albums, leaving the only way to share images as a status -but it crashes before the upload even starts most of the time.
I tried to give it some time to grow as I had high hopes and liked the feel, but at this point I'm just disappointed and too frustrated to fight w/ it any more.

What a wonderful interface for friends to come and share personal and professional pictures with family, friends and work! Facebook manages to allow enough information to be downloaded so people get to know one another and share their feelings! I cannot imagine a better place to share our inner most thoughts, play games and have groups with common interests! Even comments about current events, political views, sports events, parties and occasional interesting groups and current Views about Professional Stars! Where else can you play games and read personal views about each other?? Facebook is interesting, edgy and downright fun! Great work guys! Keep up the good work!

The application is great! I mean the idea is really good, however there are some issues that must be solved at soon is possible.
Ex: I can't delete anything in this application. Lets say i wrote on a friend's wall and posted it, right after i found error,need to correct de word or a line whatever, i can't do it thru FacelyHD . I have to login to FB go to my wall or a friend wall to correct whatever I did wrong. Delete option is primary it must be available and working properly. Photo upload is another problem, it just allow to upload one picture at the time. You guys can do even better than this. I know you guys have been working a lot, but I also know you can do even better. Thanks.

I love FacelyHD , the layout, seems fast, lots of controls for everyday use.......even though I just installed today, I've been both impressed and discouraged all together. I don't like how I cannot link to post from notifications, filter liked/favorite pages to follow/check, and that I can't see if I've liked a page already without having to click and check........did also notice that when I went to mobile Fb, I had notifications that Weren't showing up even after refreshing that mobile Fb did show........... For now that's where I'm at. Fix these things and I think FacelyHD would a great choice over some other, over bells whistles apps. I like simple, customizable, fast, and fully functional apps. But they have to work...... 5 stars when features work better for me....

For the most part FacelyHD is alternative Facebook app for i-devices and it does a great job at just that. When I used FacelyHD last year I'm gonna admit it was pretty crapy but it seems as though the developers caught many of the bugs within in FacelyHD and fixed it. FacelyHD use to crash all the time but now running it on my iPad I have no problems at all with it and it in fact runs effortless. Unlike the native Facebook created by Facebook which tends to crash from time to time while browsing friends profiles. So with that said I would really like to recommend FacelyHD since it does what the native Facebook app does, plus it crashes less and also offers more.

I really do like FacelyHD , and the pull to refresh function on photo comments (something missing in the stock FB app for whatever reason) but the notification window isn't 100% functional. Some notifications don't have the word "link" or "photo" in them, like it someone likes my comment, and I want to see if there were follow up posts, I can't just click on the notification to go to that topic. What makes this worse is that you can't load more posts on all pages, so old posts where discussions are still going on; can't get to them.

I don't think it's a bad app by any stretch, especially when the latest official Facebook app seems to have taken 3 steps backwards with the latest update.

There are still some things in FacelyHD that need smoothing out. I'd like to see the comment count updated if I leave a comment on a friends update. As of now it seems like my comment is lost but if I click on the comments link, what I wrote is there. I just find that this should be something that outhouse to have been functioning right out of the gate. It's also a bit slow at times and could be a little quicker on refreshes and the like.

Other than that, things are heading in a good direction. The developers of the official FB app should take a good look at what app is doing.

It seems like all the iPad facebook apps are going through growing pains. Sometimes I wonder if Zuckerberg and company have developers using us as beta testers for different app concepts. Conspiracy theories aside, the latest version 2.0 is running a little better overall. Fewer crashes on my iPad 2, but at times it seems to refresh slowly. Also, it doesn't seem to integrate with the iPad's native typing (and spell checking) features very well. The text entry box features compressed spacing with an oversized font. It just looks messy and it makes it harder to review what you typed before posting. Notification issues from time to time as well - posts that have been reviewed don't clear from notifications area.

I like being able to personalize FacelyHD and change the color in themes. Everyone has the same old FB on their phone and it isn't always socially acceptable to go on, but when you
change your colors, no one knows! Sometimes, it's too slow loading check- ins and other stuff, but it does show a bit more than the other FB app, birthdays, etc. It sometimes loads pics and videos faster and will let you choose which album to load pics on . The 1 thing I don't like is that sometimes it will load videos that says watch for 24 hours of no ads - I never watch - lots of updating , but nice app/ fun to personalize

I love FacelyHD, but there are a few things you could do to make it better. First, the back button keeps disappearing after going out of messenger back into whatever you were doing previously. Then there's the notifications. I can't view the post someone has commented on or liked directly from the notification screen. I have to go to my profile and look that way. And finally, you can't send pictures or files through messenger, which I do quite often. Other than that, I absolutely love FacelyHD and love being able to customize it to my taste.
