Not only do they take in an obscene amount of money from students, their technology in general is so subpar, their IT department should perhaps read a few of the books they’re hocking at students. You should ask yourself why EVERY app they make has a 1 star review... the only common denominator is McGraw-Hill!
On top of all this, the whole point of their model is to turn education into an assembly line, yet college tuition keeps going up. My online Biology class instructor does ZERO teaching and only uses every automated online system possible to assign homework and grade items. I’d teach myself more biology by studying road kill. This is on you, McGraw-Hill... you, your technology, and your apps are propelling the downfall of American education.

I’m glad they finally made an app that’s accessible for college students because I can’t tell you how many times I wished I could just do the assignment from my phone but seriously? This is harder than trying to sit in the car on my laptop with a crappy hot spot running and it’s so disappointing. As a college student, I have to pay thousands of dollars in books to this company every year because course material is required through them and I can’t get credits for assignments unless I buy the online access. All I can say is McGraw hill is such a huge disappointment as an education material supplier and they don’t make good use of the thousands they take from college students every year.

I downloaded LearnSmart because my teacher told me I basically had to to be able to do my homework for her class. I went to log in and it said I put in a wrong password or email ( it was weird because I knew I typed it in correctly). So I tried again just in case with the same info and “incorrect email or password”. So I tried an old password. And again “incorrect email or password”. So I retyped everything including my email and of course “incorrect email or password”. You may be thinking you probably didn’t enter the info correct. But believe me I did. Download LearnSmart and see for yourself. I never got my homework done that day.

I have never written an iTunes review before in my life, but this is ridiculous. It is just unusable on a mobile device. You can’t zoom in close enough on assignments to read them much less answer them, everything’s formatted wrong. This is a major issue for me because I’m working long hours while I’m doing an online class, as LearnSmart is unusable I have no option but to work on stuff during the very few hours (about 4 total in a day) I’m awake and at home. I don’t need LearnSmart to be fancy, I just need it to provide a bare minimum of functionality, and LearnSmart fails to meet that low bar.

I don’t even know where to begin, LearnSmart is the worst of any I have ever used. Even the bare minimum functionality of being able to complete the mind-numbing this app assignments was good enough, but then after an “update” LearnSmart can’t even register touches/input in Portrait orientation. I thought this would be a quick fix, but over a year has passed and they haven’t even touched it. Seriously, pay a high school kid $100 to make your app and it would be 100x better. This whole “education” system is shameful and a complete waste of students’ time and money.

LearnSmart as well as the Smartbook app have none of the functionality of the desktop version, which is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the customer service provided by McGraw Hill. The only app that is useable to an extent is the ReadAnywhere app, but that is only for reading the online version of the textbook. The diagrams in the ReadAnywhere app are of poor resolution, and you will not have access to any of the interactive features (homework, recharge, and practice questions).... you will not have access to those features in LearnSmart either.

This update/app only has the questions to the learn-smart. Does not give you the options to look back at the book like the computer version does. Does not let you do the homework or anything else other than the this app, which is pointless and their is no other app that goes along to this Mcgraw hill books.. I would not recommend LearnSmart . There should be an app to help students and professors out but this is not it.. I guess we don’t get our moneys worth on a book brand like this one..

I payed $180 this semester for two classes of learn smart access, as did everyone else in my two classes. You're telling me with all of that funding you cannot produce software that can be run on a mobile device!? Why have an app if it can't actually run and display your class and refers you to an actual computer? Not only does that reduce the value I can get out of what I paid, my iPad I purchased for class work becomes useless as well. Step up your game! 0/5 stars for usability.

LearnSmart is the definition of user unfriendly. I’d be better off using a desktop on dial up internet. App is unresponsive most of the time, won’t let me log in, offers no help for problems occurring on LearnSmart , and is by far the worst educational app I’ve ever used. McGraw Hill provides no feedback and essentially keeps LearnSmart just to say they have one. It’s impossible to use and they refuse to do anything about it. Save yourself some time and don’t even download it.

With the cost of online textbooks and coursework rising seemingly every semester it makes NO sense that McGraw-Hill has one of the worst functioning apps in the store. Don’t bother trying to do Connect assignments and other work through this unless you enjoy headaches and frustration. I get the company rakes in huge profits from hard working students but the least they could do is delete LearnSmart to acknowledge how useless it is.

Where do I even begin. As a student at a local college we were doing just fine as a class until they decided to implement these online courses and teachings, before it was very interactive and a good learning environment but now my professor doesn’t teach and everything is through this online course which is terrible! Not only is LearnSmart unusable but it’s made everyone lazy! Terrible app, terrible courses and terrible experience.

The 2, 3, 4, and 5 star ratings must have been fraudulent. My dog could have made an app this good (Considering that my dog would not be able to make a working app either). The vast array of bugs in their mobile and desktop apps aside, they have set me up for failing my class. The textbook occasionally has incorrect information, and the quizzes/tests regularly require knowledge and skills not covered in the text.

The content doesn’t fit the screen, so you have to zoom in, but it doesn’t let you zoom in too much so you can barely read, much less work with it. It’s just pointless having an app that doesn’t work. What’s the point of having LearnSmart when you don’t have your laptop available and you’re on the go if you can’t use it?!

This is not a good app for phones. The screen is too small to see because it shows you the online screen. There are assignments to do on there but you cannot go back and forth from the book and the questions like you can on the computer and they are also so small. Just very inconvenient when you would think it’s the opposite
