Couldn’t even get ProjectPlanner to let me create a new schedule. I want my money back.

It surprises me that only one other review mentions the frequency of crashes. It seems to happen most often when making changes to information already input. I have noticed it a lot when you select the "back" button. Also, sometimes the screen seems to freeze up when you are trying to scroll by dragging your finger. After making a few swipes to try and make the screen scroll it will crash. When it crashes you loose most of any changes that you have made and you have to start over. I found a crude work around after inputting a significant amount of data, just escape out of the application instead of hitting the "back" button and reopen the application. When you reopen the application your data is normally there.

Another problem I found is that if you change the start date of your project or a start date of any task the following tasks are not automatically updated. This means you have to go in and manually update all following start and end dates. I hope I am just missing something here. If so, I hope someone will mention what you have to do to have all the tasks automatically update when a change is made.

Perhaps a written user manual would help any misuse by users.

In spite of all that being said this application is exactly what I need. My needs are simple. If the developer can just get the bugs out of the application I would give it five stars.

1. Crashing project start date. I did set up a project start date to 2012 .. And after presing DONE and writing tasks of the project the date changes by itself to 2013..
2. I have a complaint regarding setting up tasks too. Can't set up project start date on 2012 (I'm working on the project which has a duration of 3 years).
Also it is very uncomfortable to set task duration by days - would by much better and easier to simply set a task end date (just like I set up project end date). If I have to input task which has a duration of lets say 14 months and I have to exclude weekends and holidays, you should agree it is not comfortable and needs absolutely not necessary calculations.
Please FIX it. Like I said, the concept of the application is very good. Keep up a good work. :)

As a professional project planner, I see this as a nice tool to have, but without the ability to import existing .gan charts from other programs, it's virtually useless (to me).

Also, displaying a nice gantt chart is one thing; making it functional is another. It would be nice to be able to interact with the chart by being able to drag a time bar to change the date parameters of a list item. Upon seeing a chart, I intuitively clicked on a time bar to make an adjustment, and of course was taken back to the data entry screen. I was expecting to be able to change my project right from the chart.

Other than what I mentioned above, ProjectPlanner is a great start. I wouldn't plan on using it to actually manage a project tho. Not just yet. It's so important to both see and manage projects visually. Plus I (and i'm sure other Proj. Mgrs.) have a huge investment in PC based .gan formatted project plans which can't be used with ProjectPlanner currently. The ability to import would open up a whole new world.

Thanks for updating the exported project plan schedule. it really looked ugly and sometimes required the user to play around with the schedule to make it look right. Only thing I wish is that ProjectPlanner was made universal instead of requiring us to buy the iPad version. I really don't see how the functionality could be improved so much in that version (other than perhaps having a more streamlined way of entering project data). I'm not going to pay $6.00 to buy the iPad version; maybe 1.99 (hint..hint).

App crashes regularly when editing from chart. Additionally notes can't be seen within tasks. It's one of five apps I have paid for, although am a regular user of over 35 apps ( not games) and run my business from those paid and free apps. Wish I wouldn't have bought this one. It's basic and therefore what I thought I was buying, but the crashing regularly is both frustrating and shows lack of dev and testing put in by author. Shop around there's better apps that don't crash, I know I'm shopping around starting now.

Easy to create projects and tasks because everything is simple and clear. It takes several minutes to add a project, but then it saves much more time and efforts because all the info is clearly visible and easily editable. And the main advantage is that my colleagues quickly and easily get the main idea, when I have to explain and show them our new projects.

When you select more than two projects in Gantt Chart display and then select for Week display, the second project dates get massed up.
There are a few more things I wish they work on it. But I like ProjectPlanner because you can start making your Gantt charts using ProjectPlanner. That is what need. I don't want to use another software in my computer to make a Gantt chart, then upload the file to my phone. That is nonsense to me.

For a simple project with a single resource to manage, ProjectPlanner provides great value. It's easy to use, easy to understand, and presents the project in standard project management views.

The multiple Gantt chart views and support of both landscape and portrait modes is very nice.

The Export function over WiFi is very well implemented and quite innovative.

The lack of an Import function will limit the usefulness for larger projects, as will the lack of multiple resources.

All in all, I would recommend ProjectPlanner for anyone who wishes to get a feel for how to use project management tools to effectively manage any project, however it's limitations will prevent it from becoming a mainstream project management tool for significant projects.

Please add the option to enter start and end times to help track short projects lasting a week or less! Also, when selecting the chart by day, expand the chart so only one day is shown. For weekly, only one week should be shown and the chart should resize for that date range. This will make the chart more visually useful.

I have been able to use ProjectPlanner now for a few weeks and it works great. I was able to import data in very easily. Clearly the best app out there right now for PM's. Well designed UI. Looking forward to future releases.

ProjectPlanner is a new word for productivity! I can manage all of my projects at one place with adding costs and resources in no time. But my favorite feature is that I can connect the projects between each other. The editing process is really simple, it's exactly what I need for raising the efficiency level. Thank you!

ProjectPlanner is one of the best and the most useful business programs. It helps to organize so many aspects and projects. Usually I used to draw such schedules in simple programs and it took me quite a lot of time. ProjectPlanner has a very friendly and easy interface and simplifies my life a lot.

Constantly crashes while editing, just goes poof and all changes are lost. I've started making a change, shutting the whole thing down, and restarting just so as not to lose my work, and this is only a first, test run project.

Also, the smallest time measurement it supports is apparently 1 day. I haven't found anywhere to say that one task in a project will take 4 hours, for example.

I just bought this tonight, wish I could get a refund.

I wanted this to make a chart I could then use in a text document. Unfortunately, the chart output shows by days, regardless of whether you may have selected display by weeks or months, I wanted the image to show my project in months so ProjectPlanner is useless for me.

I'll probably delete it and look at it again if the developers update it and fix this obvious oversight.

Okay app. Can't use it for any useful purpose as it lacks resource management.

Update: developpers quickly added resource mgt, turning ProjectPlanner into an adequate project planning tool. Well thought out UI too. Good updates delivered by what appears to be an agile team. Thanks!

Update: New calendars are great. This feature is really helpful when you are defining your projects. Nice job dev!

I'm really surprised at this update.
It looks that the developer works hard on this project.
This new version includes great things like import from gantt project, which is very usefull.
But the most important change is the fact that the user can make dependencies between tasks. I saw many App Store apps but I must say that this option is unique and improves Project Planner!
To sum up - it's definitely worth to buy ProjectPlanner.

This is great application, very helpful in managing projects and easy to use. The best Gantt chart I've ever seen of this kind of apps. ProjectPlanner spreads out fastly and have much more useful features in every new version. Definitely, the best choice for such money.

Reasonable price and features like dependences between tasks, milestones, control of task progress, import and export, all this things makes ProjectPlanner the best choice in project management category.

I don't understand what just happened. I paid $2.99 for an app that is supposed to help me become and stay organized with my projects. So, after meticulously entering in my various projects, I decide to save my progress and close ProjectPlanner out. I re-open ProjectPlanner and what do I see, NOTHING!! ProjectPlanner deletes all of your entries when you close ProjectPlanner out! ALCON: If you fix this crockery, I will gladly increase my rating and write a newer, positive review!

I've been using the application for a couple of days now and find it's features quite adequate for my basic requirements. Hope they will continue to add more features though. The only issue I've found so far is that the .pdf files it generates aren't rendered quite right... the name of the project and so forth was strange characters and no longer english text. Hopefully they'll address that in their next update.

I recommend this application for those who need a project planner that is quick and easy to use and lets you focus on what your working on rather than project planning - very easy to use.
