Convert Trial - Unit Converter Reviews

It crashes upon opening.

Please fix and release an update.

I've recently tested over 20 Conversion Apps, and "Convert Trial" is better than some but not as good as others. Somewhere about in the middle, in other words.

"Convert Trial - Unit Converter by PBF" presents a challenge to review properly simply because it is so limited. But if you like this, and I do, there is a full version available.

MY PROS:
* Accurate results in 3 of 5 of my essential test conversions (acre/sq. ft., mile/inches, stone/oz)
* Has 3 of the top 11 most common/essential categories
* User-interface is pleasing to the eye, and fairly easy to use
* Simply tap different units to see additional conversion results
* Updated about a month ago, indicating that the developers may remain committed to it
* FREE! (Also, there is $1.99 paid version available with more categories and units)

MY CONS:
* Missing volume and temp, so I can't test 2 of my essential test conversions (they are in the paid version)
* Missing 8 of the top 11 most common categories (they are in the paid version)
* Does not retain most recent conversion entry for each category, even within the same session
* No ability to hide unwanted categories or units
* No ability to add additional categories or units (like myConvert and a2z Pro)

ConvertTrial needs some improvement, but it certainly shows promise.

I like the look of the interface but here are some problems
*As commented on full version, Temperature needs negative values, like for -20 F to Celcius conversion
*For faster lookups (and there is room) let user select both FROM and TO units on the same screen - highlight the whole field when selected
*The Status bar looks bad on my iPhone, white text on white background - that won't be true for everyone, but 2% of applications cause it -- either don't touch the Status Bar (on top) or make it white black text on white background or such, maybe you just make the StatusBar transparent or solid, and that's where the problem comes from.
*I like your application more than others, it's simple yet elegant, but it needs the above upgrades before i will pay for it.. and others will and the word will get around... :-)

Dunno what waynesocial is complaining about. The buttons work exactly as expected, tap on the top one, the keypad fades and gives a table of category options to choose from. Tap on either button below the display and it shows units from the category, tap on the display to enter numbers. Easy!

Convert is yet another amazingly well designed app from Polar Bear Farm, i'll be buying the full version for currency conversion now!

While the full version of ConvertTrial is great, this trial version can be upgraded with an in-app purchase. The problem is that in-app purchases are device specific so you pay $5 and then if you switch devices or buy an additional device it won't have the upgraded version.

Very deceiving and apple should not have allowed this. Buy the full version (the other, full-priced app) instead of upgrading this one.

Would buy full version in a heartbeat if you could set the decimal out to 4 places.

Very useful utility. Though, I'd never even consider purchasing until ConvertTrial is optimized for the iPhone 5. It's not worth my money, in my opinion, if it doesn't fill my screen.

I do coversions all day long, and ConvertTrial is very usefull. It's simple, looked nice, feels stable and works on the go. Great job, I don't want the paid version now.

I've tried many converter apps and this is the one I most like. I only wish I could figure out how to turn the sound effects off.

Works like other converters but looks better than most. Needs a "clear all" key!

It's nice but rather limited. Of course it's free and is meant as a trial for the paid app so I shouldn't complain. I like the user interface.

I'm always converting grams to ounces for food packaging designs... This will be a nice app to have handy.

Like ConvertTrial but can't figure out how to enter negative numbers.

This is a good app but in data it should be terabyte and petabyte....

For free it's not the best at all, Mint Converter is better.

Not really free. I noticed more than $5 was charged on my credit card by this application. Watch out.

Nice graphics. The rest of the application gives nothing. There is an arrow in the the top right corner box that leads you to believe you can scroll to the next menu (I guess this is to tell you what mode you are in) but the arrow (box) is not active.. Actually, all the toggle buttons have arrows suggesting more menus, but that is not the case. Poor functional design but great graphics. Needs much work.
